Why not Mysterio or even Jericho?

I don't really care about what happened at No Way Out at all I just find it funny that after Cena getting beaten by Jericho, Mysterio and Edge at RAW's Elimination Chamber, and also after Mysterio being the last man to being beaten by Edge to allow him to be the champion the first person that comes out is John Cena.

I like Cena, I really do, I like him more than Jericho or Mysterio, and I obviously know why he came out on RAW first but I doesn't make any sense, he was beaten clean. No cheating, no screwjob, not some of kind of fluke win, he was pinned clean, and after that, it was Mysterio that was battling with Edge not him! So why wouldn't Mysterio come out first at RAW? Saying he was beaten by Edge and he is the first man to get a shot?

Of course this is Wrestling, and Cena draws more than Mysterio, but if that was the whole purpose they should let Cena get screwed by Edge or even Edge and Jericho so it would make sense to him, as a former champion, to deserve a rematch and to challenge the champion.

This is not an anti-Cena thread, as I said he is definitely the top face on the industry and he deserves it, it's more likely an anti-WWE's booking team thread.

Well one reason I can think of first off is that John Cena was the champion, and you know most of the time in the WWE the champion has a rematch clause. So Cnea was just getting out there and letting Edge now that he is still aorund and will be look for that rematch at some stage.

Plus if the WWE are going to have Edge vs someone from Raw at Wrestlemania, who is going to draw more Mysterio, Jericho or Cena??? I think that is a pretty obvious question to answer as Cena will always outdraw Mysterio and Jericho.

I wrote an earlier response, but I completly misread the topic.

Anyways, yeah like the user above me stated, he was champion and get's his rematch clause. I understand your point, Mysterio lasted longer than 4 other men, and was the last one to get defeated, so why doesn't he deserve a title shot.

I just can't see Mysterio cutting a promo about it, and Jericho already has plans for WM that do not have to do with the title. Besides the fact that Cena draws more, but Mysterio wouldn't be able to headline WM at this moment in time, seeing as he's been midcard for the past year and change.

Its because Cena is the face of WWE and needs to be the main event. Don't get me wrong though, I like mysterio, and after seeing him and edge go at it, I think they could have a phenomenal match.

How 'bout: Cena sucks. So does Mysterio. Who cares who either one of them wrestle at WM25 because if they are both on the card, they're both going to win no matter what.

Everyone has already stated that there is always a rematch clause. As far as rematch clauses go... Why isn't Edge taking his rematch clause up on HHH. Answer because they are going for Orton vs HHH @ Mania. Why isn't the undertaker coming out saying he was the last one in the E.C with HHH they should fight for the title... Answer because they are going for Orton vs HHH @ Mania. My point being they want one match to be a lock draw at Mania. So we will still see good match other than that but everything is now built around that match. Undertaker has two guys fight to fight him at Mania. Where is he to say he even wants to fight JBL or HBK? HBK vs Taker will be the best fight of the night so don't get me wrong. And Cena vs Edge is always a good rivalry! Anyways that my thoughts on why certain things happen that are maybe confusing but just plain business!

Two aspects to me. One is the already mentioned rematch clause, which we knew was coming immediately after Cena was pinned. That's been elaborated on so I'll spare you on that one.

My theory would be that the main person to be screwed over here was Cena. He was the only person in the chamber with anything at all to lose. Edge in essence stole his title, and was the person to defeat him for it. Cena was the only logical choice to come down and question Edge as Jericho does the exact same things that Edge does so there's no logic there, and Edge cleanly pinned Rey, who had nothing to lose anyway.

I was wondering that myself, Edge can be both the WWE and World champ..oh well..

Why not Mysterio or Jericho? Well Mysterio wont be fit to hold such a prestigious title. You know creative is: "The Ultimate Underdog, the miracle run..."

+ Jericho is too bz, and can potentially have a better fight than defending the world title, try fighting a World Chamption, and his name is Stone Cold Steve Austin (I hope *crosses fingers*)

What are you talking about rematch clause for????
There are no rematch clause!
Vince books whomever he wants, whenever he wants, no matter how little sense it makes.
Edge vs Cena is obviously a bigger draw for WM25, than Edge vs Rey PLUS Rey simply isn't World or WWE title material anymore.

Wrestlemania allways (well, almost) ends with a good guy winning the main event and since Cena is their biggest draw and merch seller AND didn't headline last year, Vince is probably really eager to get him in the main event against a credible heal.

As for Jericho, his title reigns last year drew some of the lowest RAW ratings, I think his time as champ is up

Well if you had been paying attention, you would have realized we're talking about the reasons in kayfabe. Cena getting his title shot again makes sense from both kayfabe and non kayfabe views. Sure he's the best option, but I could understand Rey being argumenitive about it. He shouldn't have had to contend with Edge, but rather Kofi. When Kofi comes back, I could see the main event changing. Cena never said they'd fight at Mania, but just that they'd fight. What if that happens on Raw and kofi causes the title change?

I have had this same thought. Kofi was screwed out of his shot in the chamber. We knew he wouldn't win, but I definitely thought he could put on a good showing in his first main event and world title shot. I'd love to see him get a little push when he gets back and either attack Edge then challenge for the title, or cost Edge the title. He's fun to watch..kind of a younger version of RVD based sheerly on his unorthodox style. The fans like him and even the IWC seemed to come to a general consensus that they were upset that it was he who had to be taken out.
Hopefully WWE doesn't drop the ball on this one and act like nothing happened when he returns.

But for the main topic..Cena does have the rematch clause as they institute in about 75% or more of title changes. And clearly Edge/Cena is the most marketable match possible else we get some kind of Edge/Show match or something god awful like that. I will agree that Rey deserves a push after his matches of late, especially the chamber. Maybe even another short run would be nice just to say he was a 2-time champion and held the title for a reason other than sympathy towards Eddie.

So do we all really wanna see Edge vs. Cena at WM25? Doesn't seem too interesting to me, plus they've already had a long drawn out rivalry. WWE Might have them fight early with a new #1 contender by WM.

Plus I figured out why so many people boo John Cena, it's because they shove him down our throats all the time in the title picture. Yeah he draws, but mostly with kids and girls.

edge v cena is a good rivalry but it has been done over and over and over and over and over and over again. i know this is off topic but this match at wrestle mania unless maybe they go for a three way with ray and maybe even kofi because edge cost him his chamber spot to begin with. now dont get me wrong, cena and edge work so well together and if cena has that one great opponent it is easily edge. my only problem is when its done, it has to stay done. what would've been a great match is edge v orton but obviously theyre doing legacy v mcmahon family and if anyone actually thinks theres anyway the mcmahons arent going over then youre lying to yourself.

I am sick of seeing Triple H and Orton on PPV, and Cena v Edge on PPV. They may be good matches, but I would have preferred to have seen Triple H v Edge (since Triple H beat Edge for the title, and Triple H has insulted Vickie over the weeks (like about the photos on the internet, and ruining Edge and Vickie's wedding). Cena v Orton would also be good, as Orton going after the title, and Cena wants revenge for he has never got back at Orton for "storyline" injuring him. Both of these matches would eb good, and , while they have been done before, they have been done once or twice, and are still fresh, rather than the 500 times they have had Triple H-Orton and Cena-Edge.

Cena as the former champion was first in line for a rematch. Next I would say would be Jeff Hardy seeing as how he was the only man to pin Edge that night. Then it would be Rey Mysterio for being the last man left in the chamber. Cena vs Edge is a money feud and the WWE knows that. The best decision was to make this match happen. Which they technically haven't even done yet. IDK why you think Jericho deserves a rematch over Cena when Jericho only pinned Mike Knox in the match and was eliminated before Mysterio. Just because he outlasted Cena??? Not a good enough reason. Former champion gets a rematch and thats that.

I wouldn't have expected anyone other than Cena to come out. Really, Cena is the top face, so is is obvious that he would challenge. Cena was sort of screwed in the match, so that makes sense. Cena is the former champion, and has the rematch clause. Cena is also the biggest rival of Edge. All the cards line up for Cena to come out and fight Edge. I am wondering, like CM Punk in the Scramble, why Kofi had nothing to say.

I wasn't saying that I believed that WWE would make Mysterio come first. But it would be logical if this wasn't just scripted.

After all, Cena was pinned clean in the Elimination Chamber without any roll-up or anything that could lead to some taste of "screwjob". Cena was beaten by three consecutives finishers and lost his opportunity on defending his belt sucessfully.

With that said, it would be more logical to see Mysterio coming out and demanding a match with Edge (even if it was just the main-event of RAW), because he was indeed closer to winning the belt than was Cena. But I know that WWE would do this, but why didn't they just made the finish with Cena vs. Edge, even if someone like Y2J screwed Cena over...

The reason why they had Edge win is so they can have HHH on Raw. I saw it when they announced Edge as the winner. What are they going to do with two belts on Smackdown? SImple! Bring over HHH, but how do you do this? Orton did by attacking Steph McMahon, his "ex". That is why Jericho and Rey did not win. They wanted HHH on Raw and switch things around. Yes HHH is not on Raw (unless I missed it last night, I had to go to bed early) but it is a matter of time before it happens.
