Why is Evolution ignoring Flair?

I think that people are too hung up on the 'past/present/future' concept of Evolution. I think, if it means anything other than the name of the stable, that it's come to mean something different. Notice their new titantron on Monday night? Clips of all three members ten years ago, followed by clips of them today. The fact that the guy that used to be in his prime is now in the 'twilight' of his career, and the two kids that he had taken under his wing are now men that don't need that guidance, is a display of evolution in itself.

i absolutely love the idea of bringing in cody rhodes as the youngblood. why cant flair still come out stylin with a couple hot ass valets (alexander rusevs chick comes to mind). he dont have to do a damn thing but enjoy being ''the man''. cody being the new blood.

The main reason flair isn't back is simple Evolution is going to be a short term thing, its like when DX ponied up again HBK and HHH rode it as long as they could but if they really wanted to when facing the spirit squad what seems like a decade now they could've brought in Xpac and stuff but they didn't need them....

Why bring in Flair for this if he's not needed if its a small run? if the long term were to keep evolution around then yes Flair is necessary as a component but this time around it just isn't worth it.

I've been reading comments online from people saying how it's a disgrace that Flair isn't involved because he "made Evolution". Seriously. Just in case anyone wants to go down that path, I've got news for you. Flair was old and washed up when Evolution was put together the first time. He was there just to be the "old guy", to show the "Evolution" of the business, from him to HHH to Batista and Orton. Not saying he didn't contribute at all, but that was Triple H's group, hands down.

Just to back you up on this, you are completely right. Triple H even says in his Beyond the Ring episode on the network that he saw Rick sitting there looking pathetic (my own words) and went to Vince about forming a group and trying to bring life back to Flair. But it would be nice to see him escort the Evolution members during this reunion for the short time that it lasts.

Though it would seem to us that Evo 2.0 will be short lived, there is a possibility that it could be the beginning of something big. Obviously, faction warfare has risen from the ashes and is a great way to get more talent in tv (forget WCW think attitude era) and Flair not being involved could be a positive. You could work a segment in with him visiting RAW and getting snubbed by the members of Evolution, leading to him looking for retribution in the form of a group to lead/mentor...

With this rumored group of disgruntled talent wouldn't Flair be a great catalyst to get these guys (Ziggler, Fiz and Ryder) on the right track. The likelihood of them going over Evo 2.0 isn't good but they can be made to look credible and a Flair endorsement would go a long way in helping. From there it would be up to those guys to run with it.

That video for Evolution's Entrance last RAW should have answered why Flair is not needed.

It showed that the Past(Flair) is out of the picture, whilst HHH can now be considered the Past, while the Two guys who were the Future at that time, are now Made men.

As Eddie said above, the Evolution is complete....makes you wonder if that wasnt planned long ago. :) ;)

Yeah it's pretty simple. Evolution is meant to be a heel stable now. Flair would not be received as a heel by the audience. Also, it would kind of mess up the three on three dynamic they got going on. But it would be cool to see Flair come back, only to tell his former stablemates that Evolution's time has passed, and that now it's the Shield's time.

I tell you, though, as a little fantasy booking, how great would it be if Flair were to pop out at Extreme Rules in the corner of The Shield, cutting a good old fashioned Flair promo about how HHH, Orton, and Batista are living in the past, a past that Flair created for them, etc. etc. I'd mark out for it.

This is all that Extreme Rules needs. A bright red faced 60+ year old man slamming his jacket on the ground, awkwardly running the ropes, stomping and flopping around on mat while incoherently using the mic to kill the Shields momentum. Sounds like a blockbuster event. Maybe he can just get a few of the guys from Fortune to show with him. Better yet, what are Tully, Arn and J.J. up to?

The current reformation between Orton, Batista and Triple H isn't really about pasty glory days. They are working a program that is all about the EVOLUTION of three young stars in Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose.

Sorry, but if you think that Flair isn't a draw, you're mistaken. Would he help the Shield? Possibly. Would he harm them? Not in the least bit. He's been involved in some of the bloodiest feuds in the last decade. Don't sell Flair short.

Also, way to pretend that Flair only wrestled in the late 1980s, and not that he wrestled up until just a few years ago.

Evolution represents the best in the past, present and future. Here in 2014, Triple H is a 45-year-old part-timer who is synonymous with a bygone era, so he's scooped Flair's role as the "past". The rumours about a new guy being added make sense, since you can hardly call Batista and Orton - men who have each headlined WrestleMania twice and held multiple world titles - the "future". It's a stretch to even call Batista the "present", given his age (45) and "plenty-o'-time-off" contract.

10 years ago,was essential to Evolution! He was very much needed,Naitch could still wrestle to some degree back then... Trips was the present and Batista and Orton the future..

Look Flair is loved, and very much well respected hell is the 16,16,16 time world champion. But the Evolution of today,he is not needed.. Trips is now the past as well as batista. Orton is the Present.. Evolution is doing what evolution does, evolve. There is nothing that flair can add to the group right now, they style and profile without him just fine..

They talk about themselves just fine without him,Triple H builds the group without Flair just fine. Flair can't wrestle,he can'e exactly help out the group anymore. Flair is too old for that anymore.

IF flair were to appear, strictly it be for nostalgia purposes only, and nothing more.. He would get a nice pop sure but thats about it. That video promo did show flair though,in the group 10 years ago. But now he is not needed

Take this with a pinch of salt, but....

Ric Flair has been booked to return to WWE on this coming Monday’s RAW from St. Louis.

One would assume that Flair will be getting involved in the Evolution storyline because of his history with the group. As of two weeks ago, the plan was for Flair not to be involved in the reunited Evolution.

Flair's coming back this Monday and it's safe to assume he'll do something with Evolution and the Shield... probably just a promo to hype up the match but the real question is whose side is he going to be on? I honestly think The Shield but he can just as easily screw them in some way for a good ol fashioned nostalgia moment. So it seems Evolution is not ignoring Flair and that quite honestly, surprises me.
