Why do people here act like they've never talked to a female before when a girl joins

GAA stands for the Gaelic Athletic Association. It looks after the promotion and organisation of all Irish sports in Ireland. These mainly consist of Gaelic football and hurling. The offocial compitions only take place in Ireland every year but I do think there are some minor teams in America, Canada and the UK- generally just where there are a high number of Irish immigrants. I think its one of the biggest non professional sports- and the teams are highly involved within the local community.

Well that was indeed a nice little load of information. And yeah, it certainly doesn't sound like something I'd be interested in.

In fairness I am not surprised that you havn't seen many of my posts- I don't tend to make a lot of offocial ones.

Its not entirely that though, to be truthful I haven't even checked any thread beyond the bar room for the past several months because I don't have nearly as much time as I used to, to be on the forums.

Which is why I'm not a mod anymore, nor do I even post Wrestling currently. Albeit, one day, that will return. (The wrestling posting, likely not the mod spot)

I do remember enjoying your Raw and Smackdown reviews a year or so ago :)

Well thank you. I considered doing a review for Genesis, but Klunder posted a bar room thread claiming he did one.. and a lot of people read Klunder's reviews these days and its like who can top those ya know?

They are actually pretty great sports. But in fairness I wouldn't expect anyone beyond our borders to get or even have heard of them.

Modding always looks like a fairly arduous task. I can't see why people are so desperate to get those positions. Unless its for all the extra respect and stuff. Do you miss it now you have rejoined the teaming masses? :p

I don't really go far from the bar room sometimes myself. Not really a good sign.

You fishing for a compliament now Mr Will? Well if you did post one you could join in all the contraversy that his has generated.

I learned my lesson on trying to push my sports off on people. It doesn't work. I tried getting someone FROM Carolina, to understand and cheer for the Carolina Panthers (NFL) team. They love college sports, but came to hate Pro sports. :disappointed:

I think most want to become a Mod to see what they don't as a regular, for the most part. It could have to do with the misbelief of power, as well. The 'authority' that you gain with a bold name, or the so-called respect you believe you'll get by simply becoming a forum leader. Who really knows. Everyone is different, I'd say.

No. Maybe if I were still a mainstream poster on the forum, but because my life has spanned more; No.

I used to think lingering in the bar room was horrible. To be honest, it kind of is. But only if you HAVE the time to post and simply don't.. as opposed to not having the time to watch everything, keep up-to-date and post.

I fall into the category of people who are behind on Wrestling. (I have yet to watch ECW, and just finished Raw) I DVR everything these days, with how busy my schedule has been and can get.. and a DVR is your best friend and worst enemy.

Best Friend because you can record anything, at any time and it'll be there for you when you're ready.

Worst Enemy because it causes you to realize you don't have to hurry to watch it, and that causes you to slowly just ignore it.

I haven't read KB's review yet, to be honest. I'll get around to it probably.

I am vaugely curious about some of the stuff that the mods+ get to see but not really hugely so. And when added to all the annoying PM's they have to answer, de-spamming, and banning of users for the same reasons again and again. That and I would probably say making threads is never as fun if you have to drive discussion rather than just do it when you want to. All in all I don't know if that so called respect really over-rules all of this. Each to their own I suppose :)

Yeah I know the feeling. The main reason I don't go too much into the main wrestling section is that I tend to see the programs a week or so late all the time which kinda leaves me a bit out of touch. That and its essay season again :(

I repped Nita once because of a post in the Cigar Lounge. She was very articulate and nice, and had a posting style that made the post fun to read. I also agreed with it.

I didn't know anything about her other than that it was a good post.

:D
