Why do most of you see Ambrose as the star?

I like Dean Ambrose but because he is not a big guy, I see it taking a little longer for him to reach the top of the mountain. I do see him "eventually" getting there but not within a year of breaking up from The Shield. Roman Reigns has the best potential mainly because he personifies what the WWE like you to be in terms of character and look and size. Overall, I think he gets the biggest push and possibly competes for the WWE Championship.

Lets just say Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose will BOTH become main guys and Rollins will end up stuck in the mid card because of obvious weaknesses. Namely being boring and lacking any real kind of spark to his one dimensional personality.

Its because he was an indie guy and the IWC likes indie guys. They relate better to average joe type guys like Ambrose, Bryan, Steen, etc. etc.

I'm not saying hes not good. But I think thats why the IWC is all over him. They saw him work back when he was rolling around on thumbtacks and broken light tubes in high school gyms back in the day.

^^^ding ding ding, we have a winner.

Most IWC members won't admit it but this is why they see Ambrose as a potential star. It's not only Ambrose, it's many popular indy wrestlers. Most fans fail to look at the key elements that are needed for a guy to be a main eventer in the modern WWE. Both I go into that, I will remind everyone just because a guy doesn't reach main event status, doesn't mean he sucks. You can still like him and enjoy his matches. Back to my point: WWE is a BUSINESS first and foremost. I cannot emphasize that enough. Getting to the main event picture and staying there means you have to be over with the fans, be able to sell merchandise, be the reason why people buy a PPV. You have to be able to evolve and tweak your gimmick. You have to be at the very least decent on the mic.

Ambrose is over with the IWC because of his indy days, not because what's he's done in WWE. That's not a recipe for longevity in the main event picture. What's his gimmick? Acting weird in a 3 man "enforcer" tag team? He's decent enough on the mic I guess and has an "interesting" style in the ring. The problem is, everything he's done, even in singles matches, has been attributed to his association with the Shield. If there was no Shield and you just saw him walk down the ramp into the ring, what would you think? If he was so great, WWE would have definitely broken up the Shield by now and cashed in on Ambrose, soley as a singles wrestler. None of them are ready for long term singles run, thus they are keeping The Shield together. Having the US title doesn't make him a singles wrestler. He's still part of a faction and THAT is where his popularity is still coming from. When that group is broken up and he's truly on his own, then we'll see how over he is.

I'm starting to see Ambrose as another Del Rio. Great in the ring, descent on the mic, but they lack the it factor that sets superstars apart from the mold. The Shield angle is already doing a number on the three men because its run way past its prime without any significant character development and career progression. Dean seems like a success now because he's being compared to two different elements in the business that don't necessarily draw anymore. Seth is too small and stale to be a main eventer or even an upper midcarder. Maybe if he can handle himself on the mic he'll ocuppy pretty much the spot Cody Rhodes or Dolph Ziggler have right now on the roster. Roman Reigns has impressive size and agility but lacks personality. He reminds me of Mason Ryan. Dean has those little quirks about him and is far more talented than the aforementioned members, therefore he seems to be the true breakout star. Wade Barrett was in the same position during the Nexus angle and we've all seen how that turned out. In short, Ambrose, in comparison to his teammates, has more to offer on a long term basis.

To me he seems like a really good heel. He reminds me a little bit of a smaller Edge (my favorite wrestler). I feel like he can go to the top as the company's #1 heel at some point... especially since WWE doesn't have many good heels.... shield may already be #1. I feel like when they split he'd work really well with a big body guard. Dress Big Zeke up in shield like attire and be Ambrose's muscle. Zeke may be useless in the ring and on the mic, but damn he looks intimidating lol.

With all that said, I think Reigns is clearly the star of the group. He reminds me a lot of Batista, and may become a top face the same way.... I mean, his spear alone is a friggin attraction.

I also like Rollins a lot, he'll be a great face. I haven't herd him on the mic, but the fans get behind him. He'll be a Mysterio/Hardy type guy. Could transition from main event to mid card and will be a top merch seller.

He reminds me of Scott Hall. He just has that IT thing. The mannerisms, the promo cutting, the solid ringwork, the great selling. He has the total package and he's only 26. He's a friggin baby and already packed with talent.

he was good in the indies and that's why people like him. He's already proven he has what it takes to be a big star, and along with many others i feel he will be.

Rollins and Reigns have bright futures too.

A lot of people on here think the only one that's going to be a perinneal main event player will be Ambrose, can any of you tell me why? I hear he's good on the mic but nothing he's said has impressed me any. People like his facial expressions or the way he moves. To me that's weird why would that make him the future star? I only somewhat like Ambrose and that's just because we're from the same city other than that I don't see anything special in him like I do in Reigns. In fact I'd say Ambrose is my least favorite of the group pretty easily. I think Reigns has clear star power and will be a #1 or #2 guy in the not so distant future and will stay there for a while.

Anyway can someone tell me what makes Ambrose so special? Especially so special compared to Rollins or Reigns?

Does that have anything to do with the dirt sheets claiming he's going to get a push? Now you see him as the guy with star power? despite having the weakest in ring and mic skills out of the group? Timing of this thread seems a little weird.. he's got a look, and he yells hooooooo-ah. That's what he brings to the table so far.
..but Ambrose has the most charisma and character while Rollins is an excellent wrestler. Reigns will be good in time, but I hope they don't Chris Masters him, meaning push him because he's big but before he gets any good. Chris Masters only got good near the end of his run, then they fired him. Reigns has the potential for that type of scenario.

Dean Ambrose gets IT. He knows how to work a match, his psychology in the ring is far better than the other 2 members of The Shield, and his facial expressions and the way he moves just make him stand out to me. He doesn't have a great physique but he doesn't need that. It's his personality and mic skills that make him different, when WWE let him truly loose on the mic he will show you all just how good he is.

The way Ambrose speaks reminds me of the Joker portrayed by Heath Ledger. He has the same speaking style, the manic intense creepy eyes and comes across as a total psychopath. He is the perfect sadistic heel, and hopefully WWE will let him demonstrate this when The Shield break up. Roman Reigns will get the big push first as he has the size, power and look that Vince prefers but I fully expect Dean Ambrose to be a main event heel in the very near future for the WWE.

Look up some of his promos on YouTube when he was Jon Moxley on the indies, and then come back to me and tell me the guy is not absolute class on the mic.

Excuse my French, but get the fuck outta here. I've thought Reigns was the star once he started spearing people. I'm sorry but I'm just not that much of a fan of Ambrose. He's cut very limited promos I don't think it's fair to asses his mic skills based on that. In ring he's still good enough. And I watched some of that video and I had to turn it off after the first one. Because you talk like a weirdo doesn't mean you have a good character and charisma I'm sorry I'm not interested in hearing weirdos talk. Talk like a normal person or like a wrestler then I'd be interested. In ring also Ambrose has impressed me the least and if everyone thinks he's a good talker or whatever and will be a top heel that's fine but I will not support him unless he really impresses me and at this moment he doesn't.
