Why Batista

I know this is technically a question but it is sure to lead to discussion and I hate reading discussions in the ask a question section so here it goes:

Why does everyone hate Batista? I have never understood it, he wrestles well in what I have seen, his promos skills have improved so much from his debut so he can actually deliver one well now, and his intensity is awesome. So why does he get such a bad rap when he has everything. He just looks and seems like a champion to me. I have always seen the John Cena threads but never seen one about Batista who seems equally hated.

Batista has about 4 moves and there are guys that are way more over and way more talented than him in the ring. his promos are shit btw. they made triple h look weak against him and he was given a win at wrestlemania 21 that should have rightfully gone to randy orton. He then had a stupidly long title reign just like cena. those are the reasons that i personally hate dave batista.

I hate Batista because I think he's boring. For starters, his mic skills are NOT good. Face or heel, he could never cut a good promo, and contrary to the original poster's opinion, I feel he's actually getting worse. The guy literally puts me to sleep whenever he picks up a microphone. Secondly, his moveset sucks. All of his matches are exactly the same. I know a lot of people are somehow fans of Batista, and I'm not trying to be a dick but I really just don't see how anybody can consider the guy to be an entertaining wrestler, in any aspect.

Well I will admit that I haven't watched SD! in a while, so maybe my memory is just cloudy, but I remember when he originally won the title from HHH that he was a pretty good promo giver.

he has been especially horrible since he has come back. in the ring is terrible, i havent seen him use the batista bomb once since he came back ( i missed a few ) and he finishes with a crap spinebuster than is not even close to HHH's. but, he does get the biggest pops and thats why hes champ. i would love to see the title go back to benoit, but hes stuck in that stupid fued with chavo that i cant even stand to watch because of the way they're using eddie's memory to sell tickets.

Yeah, like every1 has posted, his mic skills r definintly by far 1 of the worst in terms of a main eventer and his matches really r majority of the time rubbish with a few exceptions. It does go to show tht his best matches were against HHH, and i know there r alot who hate HHH but he made Batista look good in the ring.

I don't understand why the fans love Batista so much. The most entertaining thing about him is his entrance with all the pyro. He has below average wrestling skills (nice flipping fireman's carry slam this past week, though) and some very weak mic skills by main event standards.

More puzzling is that I'm surprised management likes Batista so much. I have heard that he isn't very friendly to the fans, and I remember him breaking kayfabe with some very unprofessional conduct when he appeared on ECW. This is proof that as long as you have a look that Vince McMahon finds appealing, you can go far in the WWE. It's really a shame that so many more deserving athletes are getting the shaft while there's currently a pitiful lot of World Champions on WWE brands. They are all unskilled wrestlers and, with the exception of Cena, even worse on the mic.

Its proof that if you sell/draw you will go far. Lots of people have the look but don't get anywhere i.e. Matt Morgan. Remember that guy? I say Batista makes them a lot of money, just like John Cena.

I don't like Cena but I would rather watch Cena in a match any day of the week than have to sit through anymore Batista matches. The guy is such a bore in the ring. I was at Survivor Series this year and you could hear a pin drop during that match because it was that boring, a lot of people actually went home instead of watching the match. He is horrible on the mic as well. He has good pyro and a good theme song, other than that he is horrendous.

Sorry, but i'm confused. are you saying that cena is worse on the mic than batista? or are you saying cena is the exception to them bein unskilled wrestlers? or are you saying he is an unskilled wreslter, that is exceptional on the mic?

Batista has a freekin awesome enterance. i love it... BUT yea i agree that survivor series match was pretty boring... it was really slow... and i think the fact that it followed the Team Cena Vs. Team Show match. witch was more upbeat because of the ammount of wrestlers. but yea, i watch all the wrestling PPV's at the local Hooters. cuz i'm a cheap bastard and i love their hot wings...legs....breasts..... lol jk, but the wings ARE very good. and the view aint bad. but anyways, i about left when the batista match started, it was just So Damn Slow... and after the lashely/cena takedown of show, there wasnt much else to see.

I like Batista and I think he do deserve the World Heavyweight Title. Everyone keeps on criticizing Batista based on his mic skills. If I can remember Sabu or RVD can't cut a promo either and no one judge them. RVD has cut one good promo (One Night Stand 2005) and we're back to "Cool". Batista may not be the most polished in the ring but he knows it and that's why he's adding moves to his repetoire. I never heard anyone in WWE say Batista is the greatest wrestler. Michael Cole and JBL says that he's not the greatest wrestler but he uses power and now he's adapting to various moves. I think with this run with the title, we'll see a more determined Batista than before. Side note:King Booker and Batista's feud would have been better if they based it on the fight both men had on the set of the SummerSlam commercial.

I think John Cena, Batista and Bobby Lashley are all below average wrestlers. And with the exception of Cena, they are even worse on the mic than they are in the ring. Cena talks a good game, so I can understand why he would be a top draw. Batista and Lashley have extremely limited repertoires and are absolutely abysmal on the mic - they're only on top because Vinnie Mac likes the way they look. I can live with Batista as champ on SD!, but Lashley is a different story. He is so unskilled in the ring that he makes Batista look like William Regal, and he can't cut a promo to save his life! He had a chance to prove himself tonight against The Big Show, and he blew it big time. Clothesline, shoulder block, failed slam attempt, and repeat until success is attained. I know that ECW now is supposed to stand for "Entertainment Championship Wrestling" as opposed to Extreme, but what makes matters worse is that Lashley doesn't have an Extreme bone in his body. He spent very little time in the EEC on Sunday and didn't do anything out of the ordinary. Combine this with his very short time in WWE, and I don't see why he deserves to be a World Champion.

Well you have to remember that since Sabu and RVD come from ECW, they can't do anything wrong at all. No matter what, they are the greatest ever and better than WWE and both deserve to be champions year round. At least thats what I feel like people think, it really bugs me.

RVD and Sabu SUCK on the mic, I mean Sabu shouldn't even talk and I know he used to not talk and thats the way it should be for him, but they brought him into WWECW and made him start talking and that was not good. You have to be able to talk to be champ, cause the champ needs charisma and character, and Sabu has a character, it isn't that deep though he is just some dude with a towel on his head, and no charisma. Sabu can only wrestle extreme, I would hate to see him on RAW or SD! trying to wrestle normal matches, I doubt he would be very good at all.

RVD talks a lot but doesn't do it well. I hate listening to him talk cause it sounds like he is just reading from a book or script, repeating lines without them being his own. He is boring, yet everyone thinks he should be champion, despite the fact that he is not as good a wrestler as he once was. He actually is not very good at all the last few times ive seen him. He is slow, and can't sell.

Batista matches with Big Show,King Booker,Kennedy,JBL all sucked. He doesnt have good chemistry with anyone not named HHH. Hopefully Undertaker can pull a decent showing out of him. He shouldnt be on top of a promotion that he feels is the B show.

lashley is miles ahead of cena/batista when hes in the ring, or atleast he was, i havent seen much of him recently. when he first came in he was doing suplexes and actual wrestling moves and was really exciting in the ring. obviously he is not great on the mic, but he'll improve, remember that hes only been in the wwe for a little over a year

I haven't seen one submission move from Bobby Lashley, nor have I seen him jump off the top rope. I have seen absolutely zero of his supposed "amateur wrestling background" that the announcers like to sell. So far there have been no dropkicks or maneuvers that display any kind of agility. And finally, clotheslines, shoulder blocks and spears account for the majority of his offense. Throw in a running powerslam, prolonged vertical suplex, standard slam, belly to belly and The Dominator, and you can close the book on Lashley - that about covers his entire wrestling arsenal.

Comparing Lashley to Kurt Angle? Blasphemy! Lashley shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as Angle. He's a guy that got where he is because of his the way he looks - it's a known fact that McMahon plays favorites with the big guys. Nevermind the fact that Harpo Marx and Teller have better mic skills than he does, and that he does 5 wrestling moves. As long as you're 6'3" and ripped, McMahon will give you the world on a silver platter.

Im not the biggest fan of Batista but he makes his moves have powerful impact most of the time which is a good thing, you can't expect him to do dropkicks or moonsaults b/c he is a powerhouse. He is no Austin or Rock but WWE has made him a top main eventer along with Cena even though I think he was best as the Animal of Evolution when all he had to do was keep his mouth shut and help destroy HHH's enemys.

Man Lashley doesn't have a large repitoir but that is all scripted by the match booker. He canand will start to look better int he ring because he is athletic. I really liked his running back body drops he did right off the bat when he came in. He would charge a stationary guy and simply hook them over his head as though they were running at him. It looked super impressive.

Oh onto the topic. I don't like Batista mainly because of his actual personality. I have never met the man but I have never seen Benoit or Finley dismiss their brand as second rate, get into a fight with Booker at a comercial taping because he was being so disrespecting and obviously be so roided up you can see every vein in his freaking chest! He is a new cliq member and that never bodes well for backstage respect. This is just what I think though...he could be a saint for all I know.

in a day when we were treated with Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Eddie Gurrerro.Chris Beniot, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho. and the list goes on and on I don't see how you can't see why people don't like Bastista, he is no Hulk Hogan in the larger than life and everyone must love me cause I have Charisma to spare, his promos are no where near Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes or Roddy Piper, heck he isn't even on the level of promo skills as gregory helms. ahh well when you can see we have tasted steak and they try to toss us some spam you can't see how we can not like Batista , that and he gained his popularity though the death of Eddie, another reason I hate Rey for the same he is no where near what he was in ECW and not even close to wcw same old same old, west coast pop, 619 , upset victory!! hardly. Batista has all the potential to be great and that would put him in the same catagory as Lex Loser and Sid Not so Vicious.
