Dont belong on this site or this board. After watching his match tonight with CM Punk, the man obviously can wrestle and very very well at that...if they ever bring back a TV Title to ECW, Matt Striker should be the one to win it...his kind of wrestling ability is what ECW needs...but for those who said he dont belong or they should get rid of him...why?

I always thot Striker was a great wrestler.. His match with Punk was a lot better then Holly vs Test IMO... Striker hasnt put on a bad match to this day in ECW... I think the reason people say Striker doesnt belong is biggest he doesnt "look" like an ECW superstar.. I never knew you had to have a "look" to be in ECW..

If there's something that the ECW fans take exception with, it's the fact that Matt Striker is a gimmick wrestler. Granted, it's a gimmick based on his former profession, but it's a gimmick nevertheless. Between "The Teacher" Matt Striker and "The Vampire" Kevin Thorn, that's two very gimmicky characters on a small roster. While we're at it, why don't they send over "Pirate" Paul Burchill and Mike Bucci in his fitness guru Simon Dean character instead of Nova?

But I digress. Getting past the gimmick, Striker is very solid in the ring and easily one of the best mic workers the brand has. I wouldn't mind seeing him ascend to the upper echelon of the brand - it sure beats all the boring big guys the roster has. But I wonder if it would hurt the credibility of the ECW brand. Remember, after a push that lasted about a month or two, Matt Striker essentially became a jobber to the stars after that for several months until he was sent over to ECW. I think people don't like seeing him, Thorn, Rene Dupree, Shannon Moore, etc. in ECW because they are essentially wrestlers that couldn't get over on other brands. I feel that Striker is the most talented of that group and deserves a chance to make a name for himself - even though I'm not all that keen on gimmicks, good luck to him.

I was against him at first cause of what i saw from him on RAW & i thought they'd be doing his Matt Striker's Classroom all the time but dude does good in the ring, as long as they let'm put up some good matches i'm fine with him.

I am one of those who said that Striker didn't belong. I said that for two reasons: 1) prior to that much with Punk, he did not display his technical ability and 2) he just wasn't being used properly. After that match, I think what is best for both Punk and Striker is a feud. I know Punk is currently feuding with Knox but I don't think that it would be as marvelous as a feud with Striker. I still don't like Striker...I don't like the gimmick, his look, or his name - but that's a good way to catch heel heat, right?

We'll see if ECW fans buy into Striker, I'm not convinced yet because it takes more than one match to convince. But of all the guys that aren't ECW origninals - other than Punk - he appears to have the most admirable in-ring style

YAY, lol, I'm a big Striker mark and I knew he was going to fit into ECW when they moved him over from RAW, his Classroom segment are the funniest spots I have ever seen since Balls Mahoney and Strip Pocker, ECW at the moment is actually really good, no, really GREAT. With an extra hour it could easily or nearly take out RAW and Smackdown. I can't wait until the TV Title returns, a Punk v. Striker Fued would be F'N awsome. I seriously can not wait for it. I don't whats going to happen next week on ECW but its going to be awsome.

Matt Striker has done much better for himself now his on ECW would he had been used the same on Raw for that matter?

I don't think so just another jobber

His does have good wrestling skills and maybe he may become a future ECW champion

I just watched Matt Strikers match against CM Punk (the one where Kelly flashed him) and his promo before it. Let me just say one thing: This guy is brilliant! To me, that was pure deadpan humour and I am now a big supporter of this guys genius gimmick. The guy has showed at least some in ring skill in his match with CM Punk that surprisingly went for much longer than I thought Striker would lose in, and I would like to see a feud between the two. He can clearly hold the mic and one of his funniest promos was before his match with John Cena. This guy is the future of the WWE as well as CM Punk.

lol, I am going to restate my opinion on Striker right now because IMO he can wrestle and can hodl the mike.... ECW has really gone down the hole since I made that post (lol, I made that post just after Test vs. RVD? Extreme Rules, when I was realli into ECW) I hope when ECW finally does die off... becuase we all know it going to happen sooner or later unless somethings done with it... I hope Striker is put on RAW... with the SD roster hating him at the moment, RAW would be a perfect place to showcase what hes got in the ring and on the mike... as long as he can keep in McMahons good book, which he's doing he can go far in the WWE.

It was a very good match.
Like someone said, I'm surprised that the match lasted much longer.
I also like Kevin Thorn and Ariel's presence in ECW because they're dark and brooding. You already have three gimmicks like that in Smackdown!
I know most of Kevin Thorn's matches have been some squash matches, but he held his own with his fued with Balls Mahoney. I wouldn't mind watching him, and his Razor's Edge. Hehe

I can't get past the "gimmick" and his wrestling does not impress me. I watched the Striker / CM Punk match and saw more rest holds than I did wrestling. There is nothing special or eye-catching about his wrestling style. An he needs to do something about the tights. He's got way too much stuff goin' on down there and he ain't hidding any of it. It looks like he has a third legs growin' out of there!

Someone said he didn't fit the ECW appearance, but if you ever watched the Original ECW, most of their wrestlers were short and not over buff (like Stryker). I thought the guy was good from the get-go, and I can see him going somewhere in ECW (if it doesn't fold that is).
