Who Would You Like TNA To Push?

Alex

King Of The Wasteland
I don't necessarily mean push to the main event. But who would you like to see more of on Impact. There's loads of talent on the roster that you barely see on a regular basis and I was just wondering who you guys would like to see more of. And yes I know the limitations of the show time is a factor but regardless of that who would you like to see more of.

For me I have a few.

Joey Ryan

I like the guy and while I know IDR doesn't really like him I think if he had more air time he'd be able to develop. I see what IDR means by he's off a bit but the only way he's going to improve is if he has more air time and I think he'd be able to walk that line of sleazy but acceptable. Heck if he won the TV title I could see him saying he's the sleaziest tv champion ever or something.

Rockstar Spud

I know he's like 5ft 2 or something but the guy has a nice gimmick and pulls it off nicely (heck 3MB could learn a thing or two from him) And let's be honest the X-Division is piss poor right now and any set of bodies would do well in there.

I was going to put Magnus and Matt Morgan on here as well but they seem to look as if they're going to get more air time so I'll leave it.

So who would you like to see on Impact more often.

I definitely am with you on Joey Ryan. He seems like with given some mic time he might actually do something. I think another title belt really is what needs to be pushed.

TNA needs a mid-level singles title like the US or IC Title that should be a stepping stone to the World Title (though I'll admit that's not what WWE is using their mid-level titles for these days).

The TV Title is utter garbage and means absolutely nothing and the X-Division title is more of a gimmick then anything else. Dumping the TV title for something more important makes sense to push guys in the midcard who aren't named Daniels, Kazarian, AJ, Storm, etc.

A guy I'd like to get a push is Matt Morgan. He should be a beast and go right to the top of the card.

I'd also like to see Bad Influence continue to get mic time every week as they're money on the mic.

And I'd love it if they "pushed" Hogan out of the spotlight and "pushed" some of their Knockouts to follow in Traci Brooks' footsteps and pose for Playboy, Penthouse, etc.

Push AJ Styles to the MOON. Hogan should put all his effort into making this guy the top babyface of the brand. AJ lives for TNA, fans love him, more fans will if they get to know his ring style.

Make Samoa Joe into the smartass heel of the show. Kick Anderson out of A&8's and give Joe his spot or something. Joe should be a focus in the company./

Push Aries, he does a lot for the show and can be claimed as a TNA original since ROH didn't utilize Aries very well.

Jesse Sorensen when/if he comes back, not because of his injury, but because he is actually a really good talent in my opinion

Magnus. The guy has the look, decent in-ring skills and he's always improving on the mic. He's still young at 26 so there's plenty of time for him to improve, and I'm confident he could be one of the top babyfaces in the company.

AJ Styles should be the guy to come and help lead the fight against A&8 not Morgan, not Angle but Styles he's got it in him and it would be great for TNA i just don't see it happening.

I would like to see one of the guys that was in Gutcheck, the one that won with his big clothsline? I thought that guy was something special and he had the whole heel aura like he was a natural at it and had it for a long time.

Mr. Anderson has its flaws but I wish he would be pushed harder as a mid-carder. I don't even want to see him get a top-level push. Just have win the TV belt and keep him a while, I think it's the type of guy that would be perfect for it. But he would have to leave Aces & 8s first and ditch the biker look.

I would love for TNA to KEEP pushing Austin Aries and Bobby Roode to the moon, to the effing moon. They are easily two of the hottest ORIGINAL stars they have on their roster and imo nothing is too big for them to achieve. I could honestly buy into them holding every title together and wish it was in the cards.

Mr. Anderson. He needs a World Title run where he is actually given the chance to be champion. Both his title reigns have been all for nothing, a waste of time. He won the title with no direction, and lost it within weeks. Then when he did lose, he was forced into nothing and disappeared. They need to figure their shit out and give him the push he deserves. Anderson is a talent they need to utilize. Because right now; they're wasting him.

To mention somebody new I'd like to say Big Rob Terry. He's got the look and good physical ability. Strong and quick. Could use a manager to talk for him probably but I think his physical attributes put him up there. He reminds me of Matt Morgan sometimes

Could not choose just one. Here is the top three.

Eric Young. Great talent, too long used below his potential. I refuse to believe that what we saw when he lead the global elite was a fluke. I think he has proven he can do it all. They should let him.

Samoa Joe. Am I the only one who thinks that his world title reign was booked for failure, and his heart has seldom been in it since? Given the chance....assuming they can make him believe they won't yank the rug from under him once again...this guy can go the distance.

Chavo Guerrero. I am not saying they should push him to the top. He was obviously hired to get younger talent over. If they do not make him look strong, how over can he get anyone?

Hogan & Bischoff... right out the nearest exit. Actually I can't really say that since I don't watch TNA, but everything I've read has said they bring nothing to the table. Oh and I guess Brooke. I've seen clips of her on shows and tweets online and well, Give that girl an Oscar said no one ever about that girl.

:banghead: These morons always show up uninvited don't they?

Anyway, I think TNA should push AJ Styles as their posterboy. I think Samoa Joe attracts the wrong crowd honestly, so I'm not really crazy about him in that spot.

AJ Styles.

No more need to push anyone right now, I think the push is made by the fans.

If the fans care about a wrestler they push him and cheer him/her more.

Joe Ryan and Rockstar spud should never be on a mainstream channel, they want draw.

I would like to see James Storm have an extended run as TNA World Champ. He has payed his dues and been a good soldier for quite some time. It should've been his time last year and I'm not sure why Jeff Hardy surpassed him on the Main Event level with his past "issues" with the company.

I would also love to see them put a powerhouse face team together with two of these 3 guys (Rob Terry, Magnus, and Crimson).

Gunner and Crimson as a face tag team. Have them come in as just two intense arse kickers. They both have military backgrounds. Call them Death Before Dishonor. Book them similar to the way the Road Warriors were introduced in NWA. Just run down to the ring. Beat the crap out of some teams. And walk away. (Not saying they'll be as good as the Road Warriors or even close) I could just see the two of them being the power house team in TNA. They don't have one. They need a face team other than Chavo and Hernandez. They would need a manager. Maybe Eric Young?

Magnus. The dude has all the tools to be a key player in TNA for years to come. He has very good mic skills, his in ring skills have come a long way, he has a fantastic look and the best of all is that he's young; he's only 26 so he has 10 + years left in the industry, well if he wants to. The fact that he's English helps as TNA do very well in Britain.

He's had pretty good career so far winning the TNA tag titles twice, the IWGP tag titles and the Wild Card tournament. I could see him doing some great things with the right direction, possibly a run with the television title would help this.

Either way, Magnus is going to be big one day if TNA know what they're doing.

I think AJ is due a push, but he's probably getting it now that Bully is in A&8s.

They are turning Kenny King into RVD 2.0 and I'm enjoying that as well, so I'm not compalinign there.

I would like to see more of King Mo though. Being an MMA-fighter, he shouldn't take long to learn the bumps. He SHOULD be their best brawler, incorporating his MMA-skills (a la Brock). Not the WHC, but a low-ranking title.

As far as Ryan goes, I think the guy's got potential, but not with this John Holmes '70's porn star thing he's trying to pull off. I don't see Ryan ultimately amounting to much in TNA. I could see him getting a run or two as X Division Champion, but that's not really saying much anymore. He has ability on the mic, he does have personality, but his character just doesn't vibe.

When it comes to Spud, I just don't see it happening with him. The guy is extremely small and there comes a point where size, or lack thereof, does become an issue. Spud is about 5'3" and weighs 130 pounds. That alone is almost certainly going to keep him out of the main event. Not a guarantee, but it says something when you're someone in pro wrestling in which Rey Mysterio is both taller & heavier. In all honesty, I think Spud would be better suited in Japan or Mexico. He'll most likely be relegated to being a cruiserweight and, in the United States, that's ultimately not going to get him too far here. It's ultimately too soon for me to gauge his character because the only time I've seen him has been in front of a London audience, so of course he's going to get a strong response there. If this was 2005, the prospect of Spud being in the X Division would be exciting but the X Division is no longer relevant and, as a whole, hasn't been in many years.

Personally, I'd like to see Magnus get a push in TNA but the problem is there there's not really any place to push him to at the moment. He's already been a tag champion multiple times in TNA, so putting him back there would be just having him spin his wheels. He's too big for the X Division, the TV title hasn't been a viable mid-card title in...well...ever and he's not nearly legit enough to be a believable main event threat right now. The problem could be solved with putting the TV title on Magnus and actually working to make the title relevant. They could also spend the rest of this year building Magnus up, giving him feuds against recognizable & relevant names on the roster, have him do well in the BFG Series, etc. and maybe do something with him beginning next year.

In regards to Magnus, the only one of those options I think is remotely viable is the one where he's built up over a long stretch. The problems on what to do with someone like Magnus, with the way things are set up in TNA right now, are really the same sort of problems almost anyone else on the roster would face.

One of the few that I think wouldn't be burdened by those problems would be AJ Styles. Styles has the credibility, he has the ability in the ring, people are currently intrigued with what's going on with him right now and, frankly, people have been waiting to see Styles back as a legit, main event threat & title contender for a few years now. I believe Styles will ultimately get a push and will challenge for the TNA WHC due to winning the BFG Series. At least, that's what I'm thinking will happen.

Push Aries, he does a lot for the show and can be claimed as a TNA original since ROH didn't utilize Aries very well.

Right? I mean him and Roderick Strong were the first tag team with a 200+ day run as champs and they still have the longest reign not by the Briscoes or KoW, and the second most successful defenses of any single reign. And he took over for Punk as head trainer of their wrestling school. And he's the only two time World Champ in the history of the company. And he ended Samoa Joe's dominant 21-month reign. And he had 29 successful title defenses(as many as Joe).

What horrible utilization of Aries by ROH.

As for the pushes...
I actually like the way they are pushing guys.

I like the way they are using Aries/Roode, they feel just as important even though they are out of the world title picture.

I like how they are pushing King. He pulls off the cocky heel champ much more believably than Ion did.

I like the push that is on the horizon for AJ Styles with the altered character.

I like the way they have handled Morgan because he does seem more believably badass, but they're not rushing it, so they are keeping him looking strong without overexposing his numerous flaws.

They need to keep giving Bad Influence mic time. That's never a bad move. I don't even care if they keep jobbing as long as they consistently get promo segments.

Bully is a given. The switch back to heel was done perfectly, and it is saving the A&8s angle, for now.

And for guys who could use a little more pushing...

I would like to see EY get a nice push if we are going to continue to get an EY with an edge of seriousness, like what we got leading into Lockdown. A fued with Devon over the TV title could be good, and remind people the belt exists.

Also, as always, Joe needs to be used better. I could even get behind another run of Joe and Magnus as a team playing off of rebuilt chemistry from Lockdown. They could have good programs with both Bad influence, and especially Roode/Aries.

Mr.

I agree with this. For him to lose the title to Jeff Hardy and later Sting was stupid. Plus, I seem to remember Mr. Anderson saying in an interview that he didn't want to be wrestling in five years. That was two years ago. TNA better get the most of him while they can. For the time being, I'd like to see him take a more prominent role in Aces N' Eights. Let him talk on the mic more and let him be the one that gets the pin in tag team matches involving Aces N' Eights.

I also wouldn't mind seeing RVD challenging for the World title. He's every bit as popular as Jeff Hardy. Personally, I prefer him over Jeff Hardy. He might be getting up there in years, but he still has that "it factor" and the charisma that makes people get behind him.

I'd also like it if TNA would stop relying on Sting so much. I know the guy is a legend and he gets a big reaction from crowds, but he's almost as old as Hogan. He shouldn't be winning or competing for World Championships when he's well into his fifties. He's on Impact pretty much every week while some guys aren't seen for months.

I know that Chris Parks has been around TNA since the beginning as Abyss but now he is Joseph. Parks and seems to be a jobber. Give him a push and get him back into the main event and that will shake up Aces and eights

Either way, Magnus is going to be big one day if TNA know what they're doing.

I agree totally with this. Magnus is the total package pretty much.

He has an awesome look and physique, can talk really well on the mic and is very talented in the ring also. The only downside I can see is the ring name, but thats not a major issue. Plus, him being English is great for TNA because as TLC said, the company does really well over here in the UK. Its shows get higher viewing figures than some WWE shows!

Magnus has age on his side too, and it does look like TNA have faith in the guy, but I hope they pull the trigger on a TV title run for him and build him to be a future star in the company because he has all the tools you need to be a major player in wrestling.

EY. The guy is pure entertainment, has a brilliant look and can really go.

Daniels. I was gutted when SuperHardy went over him a few weeks ago. What does he have to do to get a world title run? Having said that, Bad Influence is pure gold at the moment, the best thing in wrestling, so I'm loathe to split them up. But he's not getting any younger...

Magnus. He's every bit as good as Wade Barrett, better in the ring in fact. Give him the ball and let him run.

I posted this in another thread that was closed down, but not merged with this one...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Showtime" Eric Young... He has played every character, Super Hero, Heel faction leader (and Global/TV/Legends Champ, the #2 title at the time for a heavyweight), team Canada's goofball, ran with Hall and Nash when Waltman got sick, the crazy Tag Team wrestler with Orlando, and ODB's husband. He can do it all, he deserves his shot.

He is super over with TNA crowds. I'm not saying he could be world champ and be the face of TNA. But you never know unless you give him a shot. He looked like he belonged with guys like Storm, Magnus, Joe and Sting in the Lethal Lockdown match.
