Who will be new champion?

This is just a wild guest but...what about Steve Austin or Ric Flair? I just can't see Randy Orton has Champion just as yet, he misses something, i don't know.

IMHO Jericho will not be present at No Mercy, maybe at Survivors or even later, as a #30 entry on Royal Rumble 2008, i'm just guessing here.

I think the worst thing they can do is give it to Orton right now, or even to a Smackdown wrestler. They should give the title a RAW wrestler so they can carry the RAW product. HHH would be a good choice. I just don't think with the steroid and the HGH issues going on that it would be a smart idea to put the title on a Umaga, Kennedy, or Orton...Wrong message at the wrong time. Maybe give it to Ric Flair (mayeb too old), Hardcore Holly (too bland). WHO????

Ric Flair is too old and can't even make an Irish whip look believable anymore, how's he gonna come off as a champion?

More importantly than WHO the champion will be... will they finally bring back a title belt that doesn't spin?

maybe they will put someone from ecw or even smackdown and move them up to the raw brand, at the moment it would be silly to put the belt on one of the suspended susperstars because the wwe would be rewarding them and it wouldnt look good to congress, so there is three people that may be in contention for the belt in my mind, ortan because he has worked so hard for it but is unreliable, jeff hardy just because he is the only good thing on raw, jericho if he comes back to the wwe, the worst would be triple h getting it as i think he doesnt need the belt to get over, and i dont want to watch ortan get buried by hunter, its not worth it and has no point.

we'll find out tonight which way they are going, Vince opens ECW tonight with an announcement on the title and what's going to happen at No Mercy.

As for the person who suggested Flair, i'm all for that. It would help WWE smooth things over with Flair, and give Flair one last title reign, which he deserves and by all accounts, people in the locker room think he deserves. Mainly, Triple H and HBK.

You can almost bet that they bring back the regular WWE championship that Cena won from JBL, unless Edge is the one to come back and win the belt, at which point i bet they bring back the Rated R superstar belt.

I would love to see Edge come back and win the WWE Championship. That would rekindle the Edge/Orton feud, start another RAW vs. Smackdown! feud etc. Unfortunately this is unlikely.. Edge is still recovering from his injury. Plus he is already set up for a great match with The Undertaker at WM24.

All I can hope for is that WWE creative goes out on a limb with this. I'm tired of seeing the same people in the same battle royal for a relinquished title.

Although he is basically a long shot, there's one man who WWE have no right to hold back.

He's a 4 time I.C. champ, and current I.C. Champ, he is a 6 time Tag Team Champ with his brother, he is a 3 time Hardcore champ, a 1 time European champ, and a 1 time Light Heavyweight champ. This man (for those who haven't figured it out) is Jeff Hardy.

I know, I know not everybody likes Jeff Hardy, some say he has "no mic skills", some say he's the man that likes to "sit on his @$$ for 30 days." Well let me ask those people who say that this.

Are you really going to discredit Jeff Hardy for all those times in the past where he "vanished?" Are you really going to discradit him because unlike a certain movie star *cough Rock cough* he doesn't talk that well on the mic?" Well are you?

As I stated in the "General No Mercy 2007" thread, if you look at the current roster that Raw has, WWE virtually has only 5 potential options:

1. Orton
2. HHH
3. Kennedy
4. Umaga
5. Carlito

Umaga and Carlito aren't very likely, so that narrows it down to the top 3, pretty much in that order. Either way, the three will be involved. If Orton wins, the #1 contender will be HHH. If Kennedy wins, same thing. If HHH wins, the #1 contender will be Orton, then Kennedy.

The only wrench in this theory is if they take someone from Smackdown and put them on the roster. They'd never do it with the ECW superstars now since the only legitimate guys they have are CM Punk and John Morrison and without both of them on the same show, they've lost their draw. As for Smackdown, the #1 most likely person to come over and get the WWE title, IF they do it (and that's a big "if"), is the Undertaker. They won't have Batista double-belted, they won't give the WWE title to Khali, Vince doesn't want Mysterio to carry a title anymore, Finlay wouldn't be a top draw and neither would Kane, and Mark Henry...please.

So the way I see it, we have 4 options here:

1. Orton wins, then feud with HHH. (*Most likely*)
2. HHH wins, then feuds with Orton and then Kennedy.
3. Kennedy wins, has a short feud with Orton, then feuds with HHH.
4. Undertaker jumps ship and wins, dominating the scene for a long title reign.

To the person who suggested Jeff Hardy....What about Matt Hardy?? The guy has been the most relaible wrestler out of the whole roster. He has paid his dues to WWE for years, and yet SD continues to bury him. He is abosolutely due. Jeff is a good choice as well.

one thing about Hardy, he doesn't need the mic skills. He is way over, the fans want to see it. But, i also think he has better mic skills than we know. I thought he came off reallly well in the Vince's son story line when he was in the ring with Coach and Vince. i mean it wasn't award winning, but that's his characters style. just like Matt hardy, he's an regular person.

I honestly thing that they should put HBK or Taker as WWE Champ. With the whole steroid problems you wud think dat they wud give it to a smaller guy
hints Y2J or HBK.Who betta to put in da main event then the manievent shawn micheals but we all know the WWE.Hell taker and Micheals cud even Recreate the hell in a cell match.

you can bet on it that it won't be Hogan! Vince would never put the belt on that old, washed-up, never-was. Now, maybe if Brooke Hogan could take his place.

just checked back on the poll...

Poor Rory McAllister only has 0.09% of the votes lol...

I think that the next champ is one from 5 (maybe 7 if they return)

Orton
HHH
Umaga
Kennedy
Hardy
Y2J
HBK

has anyone thought abou this.... i wouldnt mind seeing eerything getting changed around and having a battle royal between every superstar, and then having BATISTA come away with the belt. right now there is not a lot of world chammpionship material(compared to the past) and they can for the time being, merge the whc and wwe championship into one title once again. if they do this it is an excuse to get whoever has the belt at the time on 2 different shows... and face it, world champions for the most part are like by the majority of the public, and this could be a way not only to avoid putting a world title on someone who hasnt earned it, but to get top stars on both shows and increase ratings

I think this is going to be resolved tonight fairly quickly too. The WWE needs buyrates for this pay per view, and it's main event is scrapped. A match being built up now for 3 months, and now you're 5 days from the pay off, pretty bad timing for the folks in titan towers.

What I would like to see happen:

While I am not a fan of them, I think this is a perfect time to utilize the Elimination Chamber. The WWE has to generate some sort of buzz to get people to buy this pay per view match, and this usually seems to be the match for these situations. When Triple H pulled his groin in 2003 and ruined Goldberg/Triple H, the Chamber was used. When Triple H was pinned by Edge/Benoit and the title vacated, the Elimination Chamber. While I think the match itself could be tweaked to be made better, I think this is the WWE's best answer to get this problem taken care of.

Realistically, I would scrap Umaga vs. Triple H. Give the under card to start building up talent, because the WWE needs it. I would probably put Trips, Umaga, Kennedy, Carlito, Randy Orton, and Mystery Opponent in this bad boy.

The Reality: Either a Kennedy vs. Randy Orton match with Kennedy being squashed, or another dull, pointless and boring 20 man over the top rope battle royal.

I hate how WWE gives these ridiculous hints on what the creative team is planning its basically like fill in the blanks that they're gonna do. "Mr. Kennedy has long said that he is the future of WWE and believes he has a point to prove. And what about Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy, who has received very few WWE Championship opportunities in his career? Or does Cena’s injury represent a new opportunity for a Superstar who is not a member of the Raw locker room?"

Basically its gonna be a fatal 4-way between Hardy, Kennedy, Orton, and HBK/Jericho.. i see HBK fits with the 4 even though I still believe Jericho will be back for No Mercy.

But will Jericho not be at No Mercy? With all the speculation and all the clues from the hijacked Perry Saturn entrance videos, what extravagant turn of events just determined he would not be there? I still believe it is Jericho, CD_1_Vol_4 kinda tells a lot.

This is a big blow for WWE.. but with a little creative writing talent it can be fixed. John Cena sadly is today's Stone Cold Steve Austin, and John's fan base are the little kids who are going to grow up to be the biggest fans. All these kids are gonna find out their favorite is out four months and it wont be pretty and a new, better star has to avenge him if they want to keep that base. The only person capable of such a role would be Batista or HHH. If Jericho or HBK does not come back HHH NEEDS to have the title for WWE not to fall apart completely.

At least with Vince not bothered about what the fans want, Venis wont be the champion...which is a HUGE boost lol

I honestly think, with this new save us 222 thing and jericho it would be the perfect time for a jericho return. I mean, how good of a fued would Randy Orton vs Chris Jericho be? They are both VERY talented wrestlers and are probably the best in the company. I don't know, i would love to see orton as champion, but it kinda sucks to see Cena get hurt and have to loose the title.

I believe that it will most likely be Orton vs kennedy vs Jeff hardy and hell wwe could even bring in Sid Vicious as a suprise entrant...or even John Morrison,he was a good ecw champ, good mic skills,he doesnt have a match at no mercy,im not saying let him win but put him in there to make the match more anticipated,it's also M.V.P one year anniversery since he debuted at no mercy last year ?

Well will get more news when ECW kicks off. Personally I see a fatal 4 way . Orton - Kennedy - HHH - and Umaga. HHH wins and feuds with Orton. and then Kennedy going into Mania 24. HHH vs Kennedy for the WWE title. Orton vs. HBK at Mania 24 as well. Throw a crusierweight open, IC Shelton vs. Jeff, Us title, and your Taker match . Big Daddy V issue an open challenge and out comes Taker then V switches to Smackdown. There you just saved your PPV. Personally I save Y2J till survivor series along with Edge. So yeah HHH will leave No Mercy as the new WWE champion and fued with Orton who will have Vince support as he will be so enraged that his nemis is champ. who knows might even bring the Corporation back with Vince endorsing Orton as his new corporate champion. With Umaga, Kennedy,Carlito, Cade and Murdoch all involved. So many possibilties but one conclusion HHH as champ.

as much as i would love for it to be jericho, i just cant see him coming back and winning the wwe championship in his first match. he hasnt wrestled since what, 2005? by survivor series, yes. and like someone said already, he doesnt need the title to get over. this is the perfect chance to put the belt on someone that has never had it and give them a chance to see how they do. they can always lose it at cyber sunday.

i'd like to see a orton vs kennedy vs jeff hardy match for the title. but i can't see kennedy getting the title right after being suspended for the whole steroid thing. that wouldnt make them look good right now, especially with congress wanting wrestlers to testify. from what i have read on here, orton is a complete ass outside of the ring, and that wouldnt be the right decision either. and as much as i like him, i dont know if they would give the belt to Jeff right now.

So, if its not one of those 3, i could see the HHH vs Umaga match being the title match, or possibly like someone else said on here, John Morrison getting it. It's going to be interesting to say the least though.

what might happen and this is just im thinking what could happen is have triple h vs umaga vs Randy Orton in a triple threat match for the wwe title

yeah it is going to be an intresting PPV. This is now a must order PPV. But like I said HHH will leave as champ. Orton just not ready. He is better off chasing the belt. If you recall everytime Raw is in danger HHH is carrying the brand as champ. Its what the fans want. He will drive merchandise, house shows and PPV buyrates. HHH is gold and you can keep feeding him Umagas and Carlitos but he will just destroy them and bury them. Give him the belt now and have Vince doing everything in his power to get it off him. Think Austin vs. McMahon with HHH playin austin. They can even bring Steph back into the Angle with her and Linda endorsing HHH as champ. So many possibilites one solution HHH as WWE champ.Vince has his number but end the end the Game will have the belt.

It will probably be Cody Rhodes, as the WWE plugs this guy like their lives depend on it (joking of course.)

It won't be Y2J, but that would be nice. It won't be him, b/c he is just coming back, and it won't be him, because he CAN'T come back and lose; that would be a terrible way to come back.

I am going to say it should be an over the top rope battle royal, in which Orton/HHH end up there last. Orton wins as Kennedy interferes and helps Orton defeat HHH. Kennedy/HHH/Orton can take over as the top dogs on Raw.

Ok, my options are as follows, no order in particular:

-Randy Orton: the most logical one(?) I think he is going to have a short-medium reign and lose the title with Triple H.

-Triple H: A little too early for Triple H, but still, he is Triple H :D so he can do whatever he wants. :) He would beat umaga and then some sort of Battle royal when he gets the belt.

-Mr Kennedy: Don't discard this guy. He could be returning from a suspension, but he could win the lottery if they (creative) decide to do the WM program with Kennedy as champ. Too soon I know, kind of a long shot, but still probable.

-Undertaker: Loooooooong shot here, but don't discard him also. He could be the "hint" trowed as the one star NOT in the RAW roster... This IMO would be AWESOME! but frankly, highly unlikely.

-John Morrison: Yep, you read right: John Fucking Morrison. And I don't know why people would be surprised with this option, he been doing some great work at ECW. I know it's a long shot, but i see this more probably than Undertaker catching the belt. Morrison could start a feud with Kennedy, or even with a returning Jericho.

All in all, it will be cool to see a new guy in charge, no matter if it's for a couple of months.
