Who Took Out James Storm?

My money is on Joe. This is typical of him. Last week he lost a number one contender's match against Roode. Roode then went on to win the belt. Storm and Joe also had a few words for eachother, and I do remember Joe saying something to Sting after or before his match with Roode. Something about if Sting doesn't give him what he wants, people will start mysteriously getting injured. Well, Storm's the first one.

This will probably lead to a Joe-Storm feud while Roode and AJ battle over the World Title. So Joe, AJ, Roode and Storm could be in the top two storylines. Should shut some people up for a while.

But I do fancy the idea of it being Styles. It would be an interesting development. His new theme is too heelish for him. Lord knows Styles needs a reboot. And not a woo-ing one. I'm talking an actual heel. Brother needs a personality like Angelina Love needs a sandwich.

Either way, I'm going with Joe.

It's Eric Bischoff guys.

No, I'm totally kidding, though I wouldn't put it past that asshole to make himself the focus of the show even more than he already is. The answer SHOULD be Bobby Roode, even if I did go on a tirade in the LD about the way the attack came off.
Not really. There are many reason's why it shouldn't be he him. However, this is merely speculation. It might play out as it being him in the end.

I remember in 1999 when Austin got hit by the car and the big story was "who did it?" It was Rikishi but no one bought it. That was a mistake on the WWF's part and because they realized it quickly, the culprit quickly became Triple H. In my adult life, Triple H is the best heel I've ever seen because there was nothing remotely likeable about him in that time. He was obsessed with being on top and if it meant injuring people, so be it. There are already Roode/HHH comparisons, so why not go that route? It's logical and it would get Roode WAY more over as a heel than anything else you could do with him.
Yeah, but in this case our fat Samoan has been billed in the past as a homicidal maniac and as of late it has made his character into a solid midcard heel. The comparisons to the "Who Ran Over Austin" are there and very clear, but the difference is that this time the Samoan is a genuine psycho.
Doing Samoa Joe or Angle would be taking the focus off of what should be your main story. The reason it needs to be your main story is that no one else will get Roode over as a heel more. He's the guy that's going places, not Storm. Thus, their friendship serves as the catalyst to actually elevate a guy into despicable territory. All Roode has to believe is that the title is worth more than friendship. That's all. He needs to dig deep to tap into that emotion to believe that NOTHING is more important that the World Title. If he has that in him, this will work.

Bottom line is that it needs to be Roode for so many reasons. He needs to become just a terrible human being on account of obsession and it needs to consume the program. Then, when someone finally beats him (and no, it shouldn't be Storm), it will mean something. The guy who did dastardly things to his best friend will get his down the road, and that's where the money is at. It's so simple, so naturally I'm skeptical that it will happen. Let's hope though.

Thing is, it fit's Joe so much more. Joe has been injuring people since August and has expressed that he'd do anything to win the World title. The week before the attack he told Sting "people have a mysterious way of getting injured around here and then Storm gets mysteriously injured. Mike Tenay then makes Roode the red herring by saying it was most likely him.

In the end, who's to say that just like Rikishi and Triple H, Roode and Joe aren't in it together? Maybe Joe did it with Roode's suggestion. THe endgame seems to be to give Joe a reason to finally be a monster heel. Roode's already on top.

Oh come on, we've seen this storyline before so we all know who the assailant is... it's Matt Hardy - you didn't see that coming! Only joking, but it does illustrate how an obvious twist can be changed so I'd say Joe or Roode might not be sure ins.

I'm slightly unexcited about AJ or Kaz being the attacker. AJ because I don't think he needs to hop the fence again - he's TNA's poster boy, like Sting was in WCW so I think he should stay face. Kaz just doesn't hit me as a Main Eventer; XDivision, Tag or TV should be his targets and if he can get himself over there, then he might be a ME possibility.

Even Kurt would have a feeling of déjà vu as he has regularly ambushed people throughout his career.

Chris Harris would only be good if he's improved his physique, fans will struggle to take him serious in the shape he was in last time we saw him.

The blindside option I could see being behind the attack is Bully Ray as this would fit in well with his current position of the card as the guy to feud with while you wait for your next run at the title. The storyline would be reasonably straightforward, in Ray's eyes Storm screwed him out of the BFG series because he only got 3pts when James got DQd - had Bully got the pin or the submission then Roode couldn't have caught his points total and Bully Ray would have faced Kurt for the title at BFG.

Call it a case of split visions. I think we have two guys with good motives here-

Bobby Rhoode- Yes it's another addition of the hit storyline, Mad With Power! This season we find 4-year tag team partners Bobby Rhoode and new champ James Storm facing off for the coveted honor of holding the TNA WHC! In an epic battle thought to be onlly a great fight that would be all gentlemen/friendly competition with a great prize, but ot so. As the ref rolled out of the ring injured, Bobby picked up a rogue beer bottle and -gasp!- splashes it in the face of James, stealin a victory. The next week rolls by and James demands a rematch for the title, practically scaring the beejuzus out of his former friend. A match is scheduled for later that night.

Meanwhile in the back....

Samoa Joe- The first one to speak up against James giving Bobby first shots at the title is under a cloud of mystery following this epic event of brutallity. He was given a match against Bobby for the shot but came up short in sad defeat. The next week found an unusually calm Joe thanking Sting for the shot -hint, hint- but warning him that around the back stage area, people have a mysterious way of getting hurt.

This week finds a bloodied mess of a James Storm battered and unuable to compete or recall who attacked him.

Who attacked James? Was it Bobby? Joe? Or someone else who has yet to show their face??

Tune in next week for answers to (maybe) some of these questions!

-end cheesey cartoon announcementship-

Wow, I was so damn set on it being Samoa Joe that the idea of it being Kurt Angle never even crossed my mind. I thought after the backstage scene tonight with Joe and Storm that he must be bullshitting him and then later he'd hit him again or something. But when Kurt came out and attacked Cowboy and beat him up I was very surprised and kinda let down, I was really looking forward to seeing Joe really get into a good feud and make his way back to the main event. No dice though, Storm and Angle will probably have a good feud and hopefully in the end Storm takes out Kurt and goes after Bobby Roode.

Didnt think of Angle, but they couldn't find anyone better for the situation. Storm/Angle can be one of the better fueds TNA has had in awhile when you think of the promo work thosrrre guys could put together. When Angle lost his belt to Storm instead of Roode so surprising quick, I was real disappointed with creative. But now, I cant be happier with how Impact looks. Angle/Storm without the title should be good with Styles/Roode about to put on a 30 minute masterpiece. I even got to see Pope, and he didn't get squashed! Keep him out the ring if thats the only way you cant destroy his swag, how I see it.

I loved Angle being the guy for the attack. TNA Creative has, in a short time, elevated Storm, and Roode to Main Event status, and now set up feuds for both of these guys that have the potential to be great. Roode/Styles is going to be epic in the Ironman match, even though I HATE AJ's "Styles Clash" finisher. Storm/Angle also has the potential to be great, with Angle playing the "best in the world (for TNA)" and getting taken out by a "redneck" like Storm. I could see this one being at least 2-3 months long, with a few standard matches, and some falls count anywhere/no DQ type matches.
