Who is your WWE MVP for 2016

Not gonna lie, as soon as you said he's the greatest of all time, I glanced at the top right corner and saw your age. That made it make a little more sense.

Not sure what defeating Dean Ambrose, or being on Team Smackdown have to do with anything. Those are kayfabe "accomplishments", but you don't necessarily have to be great to do that. Everybody beats Ambrose, and everybody that's anybody can be on Team Smackdown/Raw at Survivor Series when they go that direction.

AJ gets strong consideration because he put on great matches all year. He had a great year, no question.

"Again Styles could easily be the greatest wrestler of all time by the time he's finished."

That's what I said, and besides I was mostly referring to in-ring work.

Guys like Hogan, Austin, Rock, Cena, and a few others are miles ahead of Styles.

However it's not crazy to say Styles is better in-ring than all of them.

The Miz would be my pick. He made SDL must watch with his feud with Bryan, especially after his promo on Daniel at Talkin Smack.

He made Spirit Squad relevant again. Despite him and Ziggler facing off so many times, he kept their bouts fresh.

He made the IC title feel very important.

I would have to say it's a toss up between Styles and Jericho.

Styles came into the WWE this year at the Rumble. He looked so unsure of himself but the fans gave him a rousing welcome. He's gone on to carry the blue brand and is presently the WWE Heavyweight Champion. All along the way, there have been great matches, and he never fails to put on a show. No matter who he's in the ring with both look good.

Jericho has come back and been stellar. His "List of Jericho", "It" and "Stupid Idiot" are the most hilariously ridiculous things, but the fans have latched on to them. No one else could have gotten such silly sayings over like he could. His best friends thing with Owens has kept them fresh and is one of the best things on RAW right now.

It's really hard to pick either as the MVP, so I will take the chicken way out and have them share the award.

Charlotte does get honorable mention. At the beginning she was a little awkward on the mic but now she's the best female heel on the main roster. If you give her the award she has to share it with Banks. It takes two to tango and both have put on great matches, some of them firsts for the women's division. They look to continue that trend with the upcoming Ironman match. Maybe next year will be her year to top the list.

Comes down to this one thing... Jericho was instrumental in getting Styles over this year so he can be where he is now. Sure Jericho got the Mania win, but that catapulted Styles to the number one contender.

Styles could have gotten there anyway, but Jericho did a big part in not only introducing him to WWE fans properly, but showing how good he was. Add that to the list, the bromance with Owens and the rest of his performances and you have to give it to Jericho, however begrudgingly it may be for you. How many people would have ditched RAW already if he hadn't been there?

It's fair to say that ALL the women, or at least Sasha, Bayley and Becky should share the same level of respect as Charlotte for this year... they did it all together, rather than one person carrying the new era for women. Even Paige played an important part.

It's AJ Styles for me. He's had an incredible year.

From the very start at his shocking Royal Rumble debut. Jaw-dropping moment right there. Then he went into a great feud with Jericho. Sure, the Wrestlemania match ended with a headscratcher in the Jericho win.... but the feud overall was good. It was followed by a World Championship feud with Roman Reigns that exceeded expectations. In the summer Styles was in a feud of the year candidate with Cena. Absolutely amazing feud and it gave us a great ending with the Summerslam match they had. Then last but not least we have his World Heavyweight Championship reign where he's had multiple good retentions. You'd have to look pretty far to find a better first year.

AJ Styles for me. Easily. Runners up after that for me are Jericho (his stuff with Owens has saved Raw just about every week) as well as Charlotte and Sasha for their Women's Championship feud.

Absolutely not. Bayley wasn't even up for most of the year. She hasn't done squat in the WWE. Becky is a good wrestler, but again....she hasn't done anywhere near what Charlotte has. She was in undercard feuds for half the year, and hasn't had anywhere near the character development that Charlotte has.

Paige? In 2016? She really wasn't all that important. She was barely around.

Sasha had a very good year, no question. Charlotte shined brightest, by far. Not even close. I have to question how closely you followed if you're saying all the women share the same level of respect as Charlotte for the year. Absolutely not.

I have to go with Jericho. He's reinvented himself again and keeps the fans interested but he also helped to get the younger guys over. I don't like comic relief in wrestling but Jericho gets it over without it being clownish. I have no problem with AJ either. Best wrestler on the roster but nobody could have imagined the Phenominal One becoming the star he has considering how long it took him into his career to get there.

Think about what has ACTUALLY happened, rather than just seeing Charlotte at the top... In a year they have gone from not being on the roster or being "new" to having two relatively strong, stable divisions. That doesn't happen with Charlotte alone. Bayley hasn't been up as long as the others, but she helped build the buzz down in NXT that when she came up she'd be worth seeing, while Becky, Sasha and Charlotte carried the main title.

Paige played her part, putting them over, getting them into interesting feuds when they were new.

They didn't wake up one morning with Charlotte being the best... it was build with all of them over a year... look at Alexa Bliss... would she have gotten near a title a year if she'd come up in 2015? Hell no!

How is it acceptable to say Charlotte wouldn't have got to where she was without help but it's okay to pretend Chris Jericho did? He needed foil, too. He had Kevin Owens as a bestie to make it interesting. He had The New Day, The Authority, and even celebrities react to his List like it was a big deal. And Jericho on top? Please. He's held no title all year and won nothing important. His matches have been average at best, where Charlotte's have been the best out of the women's division in the last ten or so years. Seriously, name a match he was in this year that people will remember years from now. Or at least will be talked about ad nauseum on the WWE Network like the Hell in a Cell will.

Charlotte is the only person this year to actually have wrestling firsts, plural. Styles and Charlote are reasonable answers. Jericho has been more fun than usual and that's really about it.

I'm going with AJ Styles. I think he is the best wrestler on the wwe roster. He may have had the best first year in wwe since Kurt Angle in 2000. I'm gonna be honest though, if you would have told me in January that he would be the wwe champion in September, I would have not believed you. Not because he isn't awesome, but because you know how wwe is...

This is all revisionist history. The AJ/Jericho feud was a good way for AJ to get his feet wet in the WWE but it for ran for waaay too long and AJ got nothing out of it. They were obviously scared to let him talk as evident by the fact that he got almost no mic time during the entire feud and the matches were subpar because Jericho just couldn't keep up with him. It wasn't until the night after Mania, the night the Jericho feud ended, that AJ started actually getting over. When he was put into a program with Reigns who, despite his obvious shortcomings, has a great motor and can keep up with AJ's pace, people were finally able to see just how good AJ was.

That's essentially why AJ would be my MVP. He was hot-shotted into a main event program and in sink or swim situation, one that has set back many a wrestler over the years, he knocked it out of the fucking park and hasn't looked back since.

Nope. Wrong as usual. AJ/Jericho feud was great, and AJ was extremely over. That was part of the basis for the feud....AJ was getting cheered more than Jericho, so Jericho got jealous.

In my opinion it's really a toss up between AJ Styles and The Miz. AJ Styles debut was amazing, his pay-per-view matches have all been terrific. However, The Miz has been the guy who has entertained me the most on a weekly basis, specially since his victory over Zack Ryder for the IC Title, right after WrestleMania 32.

I like AJ Styles and I really dig his wrestling skills, but he's not doing anything more than being the generic heel who happens to have a strong booking. His character isn't anything that I find fresh, while The Miz's character is just an organic evolution that gave him an edge after his really entertaining comedy shtick with Mizdow, last year.

He has been constantly good to a point where I could watch him on Talking Smack, just him, for 30 minutes. He was always a charismatic guy, he's been a great heel since day 1 and closing in on the end of the year, I'm just really happy that the guy is getting his due.

In the past few months I've seen on his "A" game and it really outshines anyone on the roster. He made a feud with Dolph Ziggler interesting after that Rusev crap. How? That's pulling out a miracle. He got him somehow over again. Seriously that's amazing. You can put anyone in the ring with Miz on MizTV and the guy will get a fantastic boost, just by being crapped on by him.

Yeah, it's a toss up and I really understand anyone who chooses AJ, but to me The Miz has been really consistent. Hell, I had high hopes for his feud with Darren Young.

Also, just to add something - WORST OF THE YEAR is Brock Lesnar, no doubt about that in my mind. Awful matches. Tired gimmick that not even Heyman can make it interesting. BIGGEST LETDOWN - Seth Rollins.

AJ Styles

There's really no way around this for me. AJ was never meant to succeed in the WWE. Here's a former TNA guy who's honed his craft and made a name for himself all over the world without the help of WWE's gigantic money machine plastering his face on everything from trucks to magazine covers. Styles was Intercontinental Championship material at best. His mic skills were simply subpar. He's too old to push. But in just one year, he not only broke all those dumb barriers, he demolished them; hard.

As phenomenal as Styles is, it's hard to imagine Styles improving in any category. But Styles redefined his ability to cut promos immensely over the last 12 months. He went toe to toe with one of the company's best promo cutters in John Cena and came out looking like a star. I hate making comparisons but Styles could very well be the next Shawn Michaels; he can legit make anyone on the roster look good and his rookie year in WWE proves it.

Charlotte

There's only one who can come close Styles this year and they're both neck and neck; Charlotte. There isn't a superstar on todays current roster who's maintained consistant heat like Charlotte male or female and thats rare to come by in todays WWE. That along with her ability to perform at high levels like her father makes her one of this year's best.

The Miz

I love The Miz. I really do. Ever since his infamous spout with Daniel Bryan on Talking Smack, Miz has been on a roll. He's been aggressive and more focused than ever before and with the help of Maryse, he's welcomed to be featured prominently on my television for the foreseeable future. However, Miz falls into the most improved category for me. His mic ability has always been there but he sort of lacked in between the ropes. This year, his matches have been some of the best on the card and that's saying something with the likes of AJ Styles being around. He has single handedly made the Intercontinental Championship relevant again as he treats it with such prestige. In 2017, Miz must be in the main event picture. Given his 2016, next year could be the biggest in his career since 2010; 2016 was close.
