I have yet to see Barrett put on an entertaining match. All I've seen from him is brawling, punching, kicking, and occasional slams. Can he actually do anything else in the ring?

On the other hand, Sheamus is far better and more entertaining to watch. He sells the crazy powerhouse persona really well and actually seems like a legitimate in-ring threat.

I swear that most of you guys don't watch wrestling. I heard like 5 times that sheamus is a great in the ring. When the fuck did that happen. He has only a handful of descent matches. Then i hear Oh wasteland is not impactful. Really a move of a guy throwing another guy on the ground. He does it with more force than any other throwing finisher currently in the WWE.

I am not wades biggest fan or i don't hate sheamus but damn. When ever one person says something around here, most agree.

I went with Wade Barrett. Personally, I'm just not big on Sheamus. He's too slow, bulky in the ring for me and is only decent on the mic. Barrett is a bit more compelling on the mic and seems to have a more natural look in the ring. He's also less of an eye sore.

However, two concerns with Barrett, as well.

1. He needs a decent finisher, for the love of God.

2. I want to see how he does after this Cena thing blows over. Will he be able to maintain this push.

Nonetheless, I'm not even remotely interested in Sheamus. Just not that impressive to me. Don't hate the guy, just would rather watch other wrestlers.

Wade Barrett every day. He's one of the main reasons I watch Raw every week. He's excellent on the mic and has a commanding presence that I haven't seen from a heel since Triple H. He's got a great look too. Sheamus doesn't impress me at all.

Sheamus is far more of an all-rounded package than Barrett or most guys in Nexus. While Barrett's mic skills are very good, Sheamus's aren't too far behind, plus there's this though I have that without Nexus, Barrett won't shine the same as he does in the group.

i think sheamus wins this one
he looks mean, tough, arrogant and wwe are really trying to make him a monster heel like HHH.. i know wade hasn't been here longer but all his matches have had some sort of interference by nexus... sheamus' matches have been a little cleaner comparatively(although he hasn't defended his title cleanly even once)
barrett looks stronger because of nexus, once he's out i doubt he'll be able to keep up the pace..

It's tough as we've not seen Barrett wrestle much yet. I really enjoyed his match with Cena at NOC, but haven't been blown away by anything else. He's an absolute natural on the mic and seems like a veteran with the way he speaks and carries himself. He definitely has that "it" factor. As for Nexus making him seem better than he is, I'd ask everyone to remember the times we've seen Nexus without Barrett - it seems pretty clear to me that it's him who makes Nexus look like a force, not the other way round. Sheamus is becoming a good all rounder. It's taken a while but he does now carry himself like a star on the mic and in the ring and he is improving all the time. As things stand my vote would go to Sheamus, but check back in 6 months time and the answer may well be Barrett.

Sheamus and Barrett are both equal on the mic to me, they're both crisp and never lose a beat.

They both look like they belong in the Main Event Scene.

But I give the slight edge to Sheamus, his in-ring work isn't great but it's solid enough to work with anyone and look good. Barrett comes off as a brawler, nothing wrong with that, I've just seen Sheamus put on better matches so far.

They are both awesome. So they are equal. They both have a look, can wrestle, and are fresh on the mic. Truely this is the year that has gave us the most main eventers since 2004

I love the look of Sheamus, the character, and the matches are good. He's already proven himself to be main event worthy, he's a two time champion after a year and a half or so in the WWE. He provides a unique anti-Cena feel, where you just get the feeling that when Sheamus gets in the ring, it's gonna take some serious firepower to put him down. His character feels so natural, and he plays it to perfection.

Now I'm not taking anything away from Wade Barrett. He too has shown he can be in the main event scene, but he needs more time to evolve and develop his character. Yes, he does seem to have a lot more potential, but there's no guarantee that he will rise up, and there's no reason to believe that Sheamus won't improve in the future either. Also, there just seems to be that feeling that when Wade gets in the ring, it's only a matter of time until Nexus comes down and does the work for him. It tells a great story now, but he needs to show that he can really work a match alone, that he's not just an evil mastermind, but an actual threat to anyone one on one.

So based on that, currently, I have to vote for Sheamus. He's proven himself a lot more than Wade Barrett has, even with Nexus's success. I fully expect both to improve, and maybe Wade will surpass Sheamus. But he hasn't done so yet.

Wade Barrett currently leads the biggest stable the WWE has seen in 5 years, and is a very flexible individual. His mic work is excellent, and even though his ring skills are not completely polished, he brings forth an un-orthodox style we don't see from powerhouses much these days. Sheamus, at the other end of the spectrum, is a more entertaining mic worker, and wrestles around a power technique. He brings a brute force and dominating presence we haven't seen from a new-comer since maybe Batista or Brock Lesnar.

As of right now, Sheamus is the better worker. BUT, Wade Barrett gets my vote, mainly because he is more adept than Sheamus, and capable. Barrett seems like the wrestler who could have chemistry and a good feud with a lot of people, but Sheamus is limited.
