Who is a better heel than Randy Orton?

Sheamus is the best heel ever!!! Just kidding (if i actually left the post at that, a ban would probably be coming my way)! I think Jericho is a better heel than Orton. Orton just has the crazy guy, twitchy face thing going on. Jericho at least has some depth going on. He can actually carry on a conversation for an extended period of time making the crowd increasingly pissed off at him as time goes on.

Oh snap! Almost forgot about C.M. Punk! He doesn't draw heat just from regular wwe fans. He actually draws heat from friends i have who are straightedge. I made them watch a clip of smackdown and one was so mad, he left the room in hysterics!

I always thought the rock played a pretty good heel. There was something about him that just made you hate him. I think my favorite moment would have to be when he threw stone cold over the bridge.

Well just at the Time niot looking at the past But better Heels, CM Punk and Jericho.

Think about it, Jericho was so good that he was almost on every show and always generating heat, on the way he portaits himself in such a great manner than he makes you hate him just by walking into the building.

Orton is a good heel but not the best in my opinion.

Also someone better is CM Punk, his SES has gone to far to the character's head, he is really like a maniac now, Singing to Rey's Daughter was very, very disturbing...so twisted and demented...man it was awesome, win or lose, Punk is the best heel around now.

if we are talking of all time then i would have to say by far the undertaker of the ministry of darkness.for one when he kid napped stephanie mcmahon and then crucified her tried to force her to marry him only to be broken up by stone cold,or at wrestlemania 15 if i remember correctly he was heel when he hung boss man from a nuse in the middle of the cell, and the list goes on or not to forget kane after he got unmasked he electricuted shane mcmahon, lit good ol jr on fire, crushed micheals throat in a stell chair. But if we are talking now adays then i would have to say no one is a better heel than randy but runner up would have to be cm punk the interuption during rey mysterios daughters birthday celebration on smackdown was classic wich i was there for ha and the entire crowd was booing and he loved it

Has everybody forgot about the cerebral assassin, leaving sledghammers under tables during contract signings u knew it was gonna happen but it was still cool heck yeah Triple H is a better heel than Randy Orton probably Triple H is the best of all time a a heel.
The heel promos he cut when he was in evolution made me so interested in everything he said i would wait the whole RAW episode just to see an Evolution segment

I'd have to say Randy is the best heel as of now but in the past I'd have to say Shawn Michaels' early career. Even when he was feuding with Hulk Hogan, I mean I never expected that super kick outta nowhere. He is a guy that can just turn the show around like that and be a goodie two shoes and then--BAM! Super kick. This also happened at Survivor Series. I think that DX was trying to garner hate from the fans because they had pedigreed hornswoggle and then Super kick to Triple HHH. I think it was just at-the moment thing because you need good vs evil in all storylines (Atleast in the PG era.) .

i wouldnt even put orton as one of th best right now. he is a meh heel, and really only got over because of the situations given to him. he didnt come up with attacking the mcmahons and stuff. i think that when we discuss who is good at something, we shouldnt just use moments because the characters themselves dont come up with it. (which is why i think stone cold is the most overrated guy in the history of wwe)

if we're talking just today
1. jericho- jericho makes people hate him better than any other wrestler right now. he can play the cocky heel, the cowardly one, the whinny one, etc. he is the jack of all trades. people might say he has gotten stale, but that is what he is trying to do. i saw an interview with him about a year ago, and he said he wanted to be the heel where people legitamately hate. he plays on people nerves better than anyone else, whereas orton just runs in and like rkos someone or punts someone. really original. lol

2. cm punk- with his ses, this guy has impressed me like no other. he can honestly play the crazy preacher guy better than anyone i have ever seen. yes he does a better job at being crazy than orton. and, i know that it was a situation which defeats my first point, but when he acted like jesus when giving rey rey the gts, he instantly got me over for him as one of the best heels.

3. batista- this guy plays the arrogant big bad guy better than anyone i have ever seen. his smile, his moves, how he toys with opponents and then destroys them. definately one of the better heels right now.

i can go on forever for heels of the past that are better, but ill just put out 1.

the rock- the guy was the first face of the company to go from top babyface to top heel on wwe. i know hogan did as well, but he did it on wcw whereas the rock had to do it on the show where he had the millions and millions of fans. for this, i think he was the best ever at at least being able to make people hate him. not that they hated him the most, but when you go from the most over guy to the most hated guy, your doing something right.

I'd like to know what you mean about The Rock Brahma Bull. He's only been heel for two long periods that I can remember and neither time was after being top babyface right then. He turned heel after his Rocky Maivia character was constantly booed and then he became The Rock. The second time he was heel was after he left for the better part of a year to make movies and fans thought he turned his back on them. He was then brought in by Eric Bischoff as essentially a mega heel. They even had a heel theme ready because they knew he wouldn't get cheered.

As for the actual topic, Orton now seems to be crossing the line that not a lot of people cross, one even Cena hasn't, where fans don't care about what the person does but they will cheer him regardless and WWE needs to capitalize on this if they want a Rock or Austin of this era. HBK, Undertaker, HHH, Austin, Hogan, Sting: these are some of the guys that fans will cheer regardless of what their current affiliation may be and Orton seems to be ready to join their ranks, at least in many fans eyes. It's actually quite amazing that he could do this so soon but it really depends on whether WWE keeps him going the way he is which would really help him and them out, or swerve the fans and again ruin a possible new legend.

Orton has a lot going for him in character. He can be sadistic and get the job done, which guys like. He's very well chiseled and essentially a pretty boy which women like, as well as being a bad boy which they also tend to like. The only ones who may have a difficult time with him becoming the top star are kids since he would be fighting their Superman. Maybe Orton should change from the Viper to the Bat. Just joking there. I'm tired.

CM Punk right now is up there with this SES thing. This last week on SD singing to Rey's daughter was TRULY creepy. This SES thing is pretty good. When he kept tearing on Jeff Hardy before Hardy left...that was pure insane genius. I was hooked.

Christian had some pretty good heel moments in his first run in WWE (in my opinion. I'm just a Christian mark tho... :p) and some of his doings in TNA were pretty heinous.

Jericho is up there too right now. I like his serious side, even back in his first WWE run, his cocky self when he kept up with his King of The World phase, was entertaining.

But still..Orton does have that allure, that kind of look in his eye that makes you want to see what he will do next.

Edge, gotta love him!! I just adore anything he does heel or face. His heel things were great. Breaking into Cena's dad's house and beating him up.

If we're talking current,CM Punk.
Defidently Punk.

Probably because he's:
A barber
A preacher
A Jesus impersonator(note the beard)
And a person that's better than half the Smackdown roster(IMO).

If it was back in the past:
Kane(masked) and Raven

Probably best to keep this thread about current stars. With that in mind, I'm going with CM Punk. He's the only one even close right now that has any steam. Jericho is really good but his current program with Edge isnt comparable to his program with HBK, where his work was so much better than anything even Orton had going on. CM Punk is doing pretty well right now. I'd go as far to say that he's getting even more heat than Orton right now, especially when we've got DiBiase and Rhodes teaming up on Orton. Another thing to point out about Orton is that even when he's 100% heel with no tweener crap going on, he still has people cheering him because the fans just love his work. That makes him a great heel yet at the same time, a bad heel. CM Punk on the other hand is just getting booed. Flat out booed. He's not as good as Orton, but because he's hated more, he's actually being a better heel. Everybody was cheering for Jericho when he first came back until he started calling the audience hypocrites. Orton will stand there doing his evil heel stare while half the crowd is cheering him, playing the tweener instead of verbally attacking the audience. I'm not trying to take away from Orton. I do think he is the best heel right now, and one of the best in the last 10 years. But he's too good at it, which indirectly makes alot of people cheer for him. If youve got an audible amount of cheering coming your way when youre trying to work as a heel, something's wrong. Now granted, alot of the times I've heard people chanting Orton's name was when he was in a program with John Cena. I'm convinced that there's a large amount of people that would chant for Bin Laden if he was challenging Cena for the title just because they hate Cena that much. However, during his program with Cena, Orton couldve done so much to get cheap heat when they started to cheer for him. Sometimes he did, but more often than not, he didnt. Orton's definitely not going for the tweener, and he's also not going for the traditional heel, which is what we're seeing from Punk. I'm not sure how well Orton can play the traditional heel. He seems much more comfortable in being quiet, cold, calculating. The Viper character. He thinks he's so superior to the crowd that he doesnt need to address them at all. However, sometimes you actually do have to address the crowd and say stuff that nobody is going to like to hear, even the people cheering for him.

has everyone forgot how great edge was as a heel... come on he broke into cena's house he screwed lita on live tv, he's humiliated (and pushed) every wrestler he gets in the ring with... well maybe not every one but, he's cheated just about every title run, just dont count him out is all im saying...

So many minds all thinking the same thing. How interesting. Everyone has basically made the same cases for a select few, and there have been some random name drops, but I've got one that no one has mentioned which blows me away. How you could have missed this guy is beyond me, and will probably leave you thinking "Why the fuck didn't I already think of that?"

He's a former WWE champion, former United States champion, former European champion, former Intercontinental champion, former 3 time World Tag Team champion, boasting 17 Hardcore championship reigns. He is a Triple Crown, and only the 10th Grad Slam champion of all time.

He's tried to hunt illegal immigrants, caused old ladies to have heart attacks, he beats up midgets, hangs people, buys them, he's tried to hit John Cena with a car, threw him through the windshield of a car, and tried to burn him alive inside of it.

If you haven't figured it out by now, I am talking about not just a man but " A WRESTLING, GOD!" John Bradshaw Layfield.

How could you overlook this guy. He's was a heel for his entire career, and was always a good one. JBL was also known to be a heel of sorts outside the ring as he was involved in his fair share of "Altercations" much like Orton. Your talking about a guy who gave the Nazi salute to Germany and goose walked around the ring in front of these people. He also beat up The Blue Meanie for real once too, which led to the Meanie getting a contract extension. JBL always cheated his way through, and cheated more people out of title wins than you can count.

He may not have always been the best wrestler, but that never stopped him. He would stoop to any low to save his title or his pride. JBL was ruthless, aggressive, dastardly, cunning, and he was rich a fuck which meant he could buy his way in or out of anything, he even once had his own group of lackeys he called "The Cabinet" with Orlando Jordan his "Chief of Staff" and the Basham Brothers as his "Secretaries of Defense".

After JBL's comeback when he feuded with Jericho is when I think he really earned his place at the top of the list of good "bad guys". He hung Jericho, I already mentioned what he did to Cena, He bought HBK for God sake, tried to get C.M. Punk to drink Jack Daniels, terrorized Mysterio, beat up Hornswoggle with Finlay handcuffed to a rope aiding Vince McMahon, revealed Hornswoggle to be Finlay's son rather than Vince's "Illegitimate Bastard Son", and he knew exactly how to make you hate him all the time which is a mark of a good heel. He was also able to make you care about the face in any feud he was in because he was such a son-of-a-bitch to them which also shows how great a heel he was.

JBL made meaningless feuds matter, and I think that is one of the biggest things that makes him not just a better heel than Orton, but one of the best heels ever, period. C.M. Punk wasn't the big deal he is now when he feuded with JBL, after that he was launched. Same for Jericho, no one was giving a shit about him until he feuded with JBL and it was shortly thereafter that he turned heel. JBL could teach a course on how to be a heel, and a lot of these guys could learn a lot from him.

A lot of those guys you all named are good heels and I give them their props. I am actually a fan of a lot of their work, but JBL holds a special place in the Heel category for me. Most of those other guys always acted "Crazy" or something and that was part of what made you believe them. JBL never did that, he was just a power hungry rich guy with more money than integrity who loved letting you know it which made you hate him all the more. I think it would be very difficult to make a case for many people over JBL.
