My picks for Worst Reigns:
1) Andre the Giant beating Hulk Hogan on Saturday Nights Main Event, due to the referee switch by Dave and Earl Hebner. Then Andre giving the belt to Million Dollar Man, so Andre held the belt for all of about 30 seconds. This did lead to the awesome Tourney that Macho Man won at Wrestlemania, but it one of the worst title reigns ever!
2) Bob Backlunds transition Championship run that lasted about a minute I think. Backlund beat Bret Hart at some untelevised event to win the title, then Diesel beat him in like 8 seconds of some shit like to win the belt. Diesel went on to hold the title for about a year, and had some of the worst feuds and matches that I can remember so both of these I consider shitty reigns.
3) Yokozuna beats Bret Hart after Mr Fuji throws salt in his eyes, and out of no where here comes the Real American Hulk Hogan! Hogan who has just returned after a very lengthy absence, just dominates and beats Yokozuna in one of the worst title matches ever!
4) Anytime that Batista has been champion has been horrible, the same can be said for Randy Ortons first title reign, and Rey Mysterios one and only title reign. They were all bad, very bad.
5) Ronnie Garvin beating Ric Flair in a Steel Cage Match. On September 25, 1987, Garvin was able to defeat Flair for the title. It was during this feud that Garvin would eventually gain what would later be referred to as "Go-away heat," which would see Flair getting cheered in the middle of a cage match, and Garvin booed. Garvin was favored by the fans for chasing after the title and beating up Ric Flair, but not enough to actually defeat him, be the champion, and carry the company. His winning the belt was a last minute booking decision by the committee due to losing their original choices for successors, Magnum T.A. and Buddy Landel.
