Who Do You Think Will Become WWE or World Heavyweight Champion in 2012?

Realistically for 2012 in terms of between now and next year, for 2012 anyway as for who I can see realistically becoming WWE Champion:

I would have to say Dolph Ziggler as I see him winning the WWE Championship at some point in the next year hopefully summer 2012 or by the fall of 2012

In terms of the World Heavyweight Championship, I can see Cody Rhodes becoming World Heavyweight Champion as well by summer 2012 or fall of 2012 at least.

WHC = Kane. I believe Kane will have a championship reign once he come back. Remember, before he was demolished by mark henry he wants to bring back the monster inside of him. If he brings back the big red machine and he turns heel that would be awesome.

WWE Championship = CM Punk. After all the feuds with Triple H and Kevin Nash, he will once again turn his focus to the title. I see him becoming a champion maybe after wrestlemania.

WWE Championship - I think both Dolph Ziggler and John Morrison have a shot at winning the title in 2012. Both of them have worked hard and are exciting in the ring. I would love to see both of them get their shot.

World Heavyweight Championship - I honestly believe Daniel Bryan is going to get his chance at the golden prize next year. He's definitely earned it and could make a very credible champion for SmackDown. EDIT: I also have to give it to Cody Rhodes. Rhodes is quickly becoming one of SmackDown's top heels. I actually believe he's in the top four for the brand already. I could easily believe him becoming the next champion.

John Cena and Randy Orton will definitely be world champions in 2012. Hopefully CM Punk and Christian will be too, but I don't think it's looking good for Christian. Expect Sheamus to get a title run as the top face on SD and who knows maybe Cody Rhodes will elevate himself to the main event. Maybe Alex Riley will elevate. I wouldn't be surprised if Triple H became a 14-time World Champion in 2012.

I can say with some confidence that if Punk isn't buried at Night of Champions, that he will pretty much co-dominate 2012 with Cena. Hopefully though Cena will eventually turn heel, depending on the whole situation with The Rock. Now Cena's face/heel affiliation will not change my opinion on him, it will just make things more interesting and less "needle in my eye" painful to watch on Mondays. If Cena turns heel, that leaves the door wide open for Punk to become established as the first face we can actually stand to watch and root for in the last 6 years.

Hmm, among the former champions I would say Cena, Orton, Miz, Alberto, Punk and Sheamus are all potentially facing some gold time. Always possible that one of them skips a year. Right now it doesn't look like Miz will be entering the title picture again anytime soon (but who is to say how things are 8 months from now?), but I would bet my small intestine that all of those guys are at some point future champions.

New guys to enter the title scene in 2012:
Well, a lot have mentioned Cody Rhodes and Dolph Ziggler. I can only agree, those two names would have to be on the top of the list.
(And don't give me that crap about Ziggler already being a former champion. He never won a match and his reign didn't even last for one forgettable episode of Smackdown! They should scratch this crap off the record books like they did back when Jericho seemingly won his first championship from Triple H.)

These guys will probably get close and get a whiff of championship gold, but I simply can't picture them doing it.
Wade Barrett. His time will come, but I don't think 2012 is his ticket.
Daniel Bryan. Mr. Money in the Bank. Will he really insert himself into a main event at Wrestlemania? I'm not convinced at all that's really the grand WWE plan. There are ways to lose your MitB suitcase along the way. Just ask Mr. Kennedy/Anderson. And even if Bryan does indeed go to Wrestlemania, I simply can't picture him leaving it with the title. I can't. I'm a big fan of the guy, but I just don't believe he will be champion in 2012. (I hope I'm wrong, though, and I've been wrong plenty of times.)
Alex Riley. Well, actually he may not even be close, but his name gets thrown around a lot. He is a rookie and still has tons of growing to do. He may very well be a future champion, but there is time for that. 2012 won't be his year.
Same goes for John Morrison. Whatever momentum he had early in the year is gone. Instead the grave that is his mic skills has only become deeper and the "Hey, I look like Jim Morrison"-gimmick hasn't gotten any less lame. I don't see him break that cycle anytime soon. This guy needs some major revamping.

My choosings are as follows Daniel Bryan, John Morrison, RTruth, Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler and Wade Barrett

Daniel Bryan - For obvious reasons I think he will be successful and cash in his money in the bank contract.

John Morrison - I think it's his time, I feel once Miz get the belt back he will be the one to take it from him.

RTruth - I wanted him to beat Cena because I think he would be a funny transitional champion, would like to see where they'd go with it.

Cody Rhodes - He's had a great year and I feel he will win the belt before 2012 is over.

Dolph Ziggler - This man can be the future and I feel he is good enough to be a champion many times.

Wade Barrett - He has what it takes to be a great champion and fued with the big guys. I'd like to see him use the same gimmick he had on NXT with the flowers, I thought that set a message much like M$M did with dollar bills.

Wildcards: Mason Ryan, Skip Shefield. (If these guys come in with a Batista/Goldberg gimmick.

Well for the WWE title, i see The Miz winning sometime and possibly could be champion at the Rumble then lose it at Elimination Chamber to Cena (who could also win the Rumble than challenge for the title a month early or something). the Rock could also win it at Mania vs Cena which would then set up a tournament for a new champ. HOPEFULLY they keep the title away from Cena and Rock, have Miz win the title sometime in November then have him hold it till Mania to lose it to CM Punk (who would win the Rumble) because i think that would be a good Mania match, but i dont see that. Anyways, Cena, Miz, Punk all will likely win the WWE title and maybe a first time champion like Ziggler will win the Money in the Bank and cash in sometime in late 2012 and we could see another title run for Del Rio.

As for the World title, Henry may get a run, but i hope not because the only one who would seem to have a chance to beat him would be Orton. Maybe Barrett would win a world title, Orton (of course) and he could even be turned heel and then make Daniel Bryan the face challenger and have him beat Orton for his first title run, i WANT and HOPE Bryan wins the World title because he's a pure wrestler and will put on great matches, if he wins it he will hold onto the title for about 4 months and lose it to another wrestler, possibly Orton, Christian. Also throw in Sheamus, he could win another title. i see the next case going to Cody Rhodes and i could see him win a world title in 2012.

Mark Henry has been loyal? That implies other company's were beating down his door trying to get him. No. He has done nothing in 15 years. They don't have many African-American wrestlers. Him filling some sort of quota does not make him loyal. No one holds the belt for a year anymore, why would he? The hand he fathered has a better chance of being champion for a year.

The first name that instantly came to mind was Cody Rhodes. It's clear that he's steadily on the way up; he's already very over and has a great character, and he can sure as hell get it done in the ring. If you're looking for a future top heel who hasn't been champion yet, there you go. I would rather see Daniel Bryan be the next face to win the title than Morrison, because I actually think he has more charisma (imagine that!). Morrison can do some cool things in the ring but I've never found him above average as a face on the microphone.

I hope Wade Barrett gets a run as Champion, I think this year would have been too soon even though at one point he was more relevant than he currently is. I think he still needs to do something to fully warrent a title run..perhaps win the Royal Rumble.

Not bothered if Morrisson wins the belt... I have never thought of him as World Champion or WWE Champion. Dolph, Sheamus and CM punk should have runs aswell as Orton and Cena obviously.

What about Triple H? Do you think his time as Champion is over?

The guys I can see becoming champions in 2012 are:

Sheamus: He is receiving a push currently and should become champion towards the end of the year or early next year.

Cody Rhodes: One of the future prospects of the WWE. He should win the belt around WM.

Wade Barett: I expect him to get another push and go for the championship.

Daniel Bryan: Hopefully, he will continue the MiTB tradition of winning the belt.

Miz: One of the most charismatic guys on the roster. Definitely see him reclaiming the gold.

CM Punk: After his feud with HHH, I see him going after the WWE championship again.

And of course, Cena and Orton will add to their tally of title reigns.

A year?!? Mark Henry has been on fire and I can see him getting the title, but you're daft if you think he'll keep it a year... As for the rest of your comments, did you not see the title of this thread, sir? Who will win WWE or World Heavyweight titles, not who will win any old title you'd like to ramble on about.

As for who will make the cut, I'm not going to address former champions, as I'm sure several will get another run. For first time, WHC like many of you, I expect/hope to see reigns for Cody Rhodes and Wade Barrett. Both great heels and definite main event talents. I sincerely hope Daniel Bryan does *NOT* win, the man is certainly quite good in the ring, but not nearly as good as he's made out to be, and he is abysmal outside the ring. I also personally hate him, but that's neither here nor there. First time WWE champions I'm not so sure about. Possibly Dolph Ziggler, I can see it, but I wouldn't bet real money on it. R Truth has been great since the heel turn/gimmick change, but I don't really think he'll get it. Morrison in my opinion tops out at US/IC level and should not hold the title, ditto for Kofi. Alex Riley? It's possible, but he needs to develop more before that happens. Then again, we are talking a healthy window of time. I guess on Raw there's really not any stand out talent where I look and think "This man absolutely should be champion by 2012." But time will tell for all of our predictions...

Mark Henry's not going to be champion for a year, nor is he even likely to beat Orton at NoC. He may have been loyal, but that doesn't mean they're going to give him a year long title reign when he can barely put on decent matches. Especially not with Orton on the brand and Bryan's MITB cash in coming up.

In terms of realistic champions then DB, Mark Henry, CM Punk, Cena, Orton, Del Rio etc...

But an interesting one I want to throw in there is Triple H and Undertaker. On the one hand Triple H, I think, will drop down as COO give it to Stephanie and then take advantage for one last heel uber run () and Undertaker will get the belt when he returns but only if it's longer than just a WM match.

 

[The Future Rises]

Well my obvious first choice would be... Daniel Bryan. He already has the money in the bank briefcase and he's cashing it in at Wrestlemania. I don't see the WWE making him lose or not even cashing it in. They would piss off a lot of D-Bryan hardcore fans which would possibly result in a riot.

My other choices would be Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes, and Wade Barrett. The WWE are high on all 3 of them. And Ziggler can finally make up for that 12 minute title reign. Cody and Barrett also have the "it" factor so I see them winning their first world titles in 2012.

For some posters who are tossing some big main event names it's pretty obvious that guys like Cena and Orton are gonna be world champions in 2012 so why would you even bother stating the obvious.

I agree with the general consensus that the current Intercontinental Champion and the current United States Champion will become WWE Champion and World Champion in 2012. Daniel Bryan is getting his first World Title next year, if he holds on the the Blue case for a few more months. I can see Cena getting WWE / World Title number 13 and 14. I can see Orton getting WWE / World Title number 10 and 11. Anyone else I didn’t mention would be a surprise to me.

It is not a good idea seeing Cody rhodes as a World Heavyweight Champion , Coz He's Intercontinental champion now.

As for Dolph Ziggler , He can be WWE Champion , but for that , he has to face CM Punk as a major challenge !!
