Cena's Little Helper
Mid-Card Championship Winner
I am not a fan of Cena in the least. In fact, amongst the sea of his avid supporters on this site, I am one of his few detractors. However, I respect his work ethic and passion, and I think he is more than deserving of anchoring one of WWE's shows. Furthermore, I definitely feel that, by moving HHH to RAW without moving Cena to Smackdown!, Cena has definitely gotten a raw deal (no pun intended).
I mean, I could be wrong here, as I predicted that Cena would go to Smackdown! in the first place (however, I predicted this before I knew MyNetworkTV would go down the shitter by deciding to show no original programming save for Smackdown!, so my pride is still intact). But, I definitely don't think they would save his name for the supplemental draft. And, given 12 Rounds' piss-poor box-office, I definitely don't see Cena semi-retiring and making movies full-time for The Vincent, at least not at this point in time (he'll probably be given one more shot before he's stuck making direct-to-DVD releases and USA Originals).
Of course, my belief that Cena got the shaft rests on two more assumptions: HHH will hog up the spotlight on RAW and Cena is not yet above the title. The first assumption's actually a pretty safe one; if HHH does end up taking a backseat to the likes of Cena and Orton within the upcoming months, I'll seriously consider posting the video of me crapping myself should this happen.
The second assumption's not so safe, and is, admittedly, quite contentious. A lot of people will disagree with my belief that Cena's not above the championship. There was a point during this past year (around Summerslam 2008) where I actually thought Cena was reaching a point where he was above the championship. But, ironically enough, putting Cena in the title scene immediately after his return from surgery made it so that it's impossible to not see Cena as either the world champion or the #1 contender for a world title.
Who knows...maybe they intend to now keep both belts on RAW. But, if this doesn't happen, what does the future hold in store for Cena?
