Which WWE Superstar will have a break out year in 2008?

Hart>HBK

Occasional Pre-Show
I think that there are several guys on ECW who could reach the next level in their careers. Shelton Benjamin is getting more time on the mic and is improving every week. This guy will definitely hold the ECW Championship soon and I think that he can go no where but up. There is also Elijah Burke who, I think, has the look, the mic skills, and the in ring abilities. This guy has all the talent in the world and if given a chance, this guy will definitely make the most of it. Another guy to look for is Mr. Kennedy. He was supposed to get pushed after winning the Money in the Bank but bad things kept on happening to him (injuries and suspensions). I think this program with HBK will help him develop more and hopefully he can capitalize on it. I also believe that the Major Brothers can re-energize the tag team division as a top heel team. They remind me of the Edge and Christian tag team, and now with them teaming up with Edge in a faction, they can develop a good character and once again make tag teams popular in the WWE.

Others guys who could also develop well are DH Smith, Carlito, Kevin Thorn (if given the right gimmick), Jamie Noble, and guys like the Hardys, CM Punk and MVP could be elevated into main event status on one of the top two brands.

I believe it will be MVP. At first, i thought he was nothing, but after his matches with Benoit i was totally suprised. He has great potential, he has great mic skills and he has the look, the entrance and the crowd heat. I think he will soon be pushed to the main event scene in 2008 and i hope he does, i love the guy. Lets hope he doesnt fade away like Kennedy is and keeps improving and getting better and better.

I would like to say Kennedy, but apparently his feud with HBK is a sink or swim type feud and he hasn't impressed me much lately.

Smackdown I would have to say MVP. His matches are usually pretty good, the crowd hates him, good on the mic and has the ability. main event scene sometime soon after mania i predict.

ecw I will go with Shelton Benjamin if he doesnt screw up like he did before. the guy has all the ability to be world champ, but he just doesn't act like he cares from what i've heard.

raw i honestly think its going to be jeff hardy. his mic skills are improving, if they give him more time they will get a lot better. even pyscho sid said he had trouble cutting a promo at first, so practice makes perfect. he has been pretty solid in the ring, and i dont think he has been doing as many spots. if he continues to do as well as he has, and management keeps supporting him, he will be the wwe champ by summerslam. unless they move him in the draft, and i dont think that will happen.

I wish we had more characters who would get as big as The Rock, Austin, Hogan, and Hart etc once did but I don't see it happening right now. But I like CM Punk and I think he will break out.

I think one WWE superstar that will have a breakout year is Cody Rhodes. Yes i know, laugh if you would like, but i see major talent in Rhodes. I really wish WWE would have Rhodes turn on Holly as i think Rhodes would be a great heel. One thing i would love to see is maybe Cody turning on Dusty Rhodes and setting up a father-son feud.

Other superstars i see having breakout years are Ken Kennedy. Seriously, wtf WWE? Why hasn't Kennedy had a decent Title run. I really think he would do well against someone like Batista or Edge on Smackdown. Edge vs Kennedy would be one hell of a match, IMO. I would like to hopefully see him either Get a World Title Run or Stay on Raw and feud with Jeff Hardy.

One more I see is Kenny Dykstra. Another talent i see going to waste. I think he would do well in a feud with Matt Hardy, maybe even sending him to Raw to team with Cody Rhodes and make a ''New Generation'' team and feud with some tag teams on Raw. None the less. Dykstra,Kennedy and Cody Rhodes deserve pushes in my opinion.:)

Breakout stars... Breakout stars... where do I begin... Well, Kennedy is actually startiung to bore me, then again, I personbally never got his gimmick. I mean, I knew he could cut a good promo, but I have yet to hear a GOOD promo from him. I see Kennedy as the guy that will win a royal rumble and win at Mania (not this one coming up)

MVP. This guy has impressed ALOT of people. before the Benoit Matchs he had, I though he was another brawler kinda guy in a power ranger suit. But after those matchs with Benoit, I saw how good of an actual wrestler he really is. And not only can he cut an exelent promo, he's on Smackdown, which means he's got the time to cut a promo! I see MVP becoming Heavyweight Champion, probably between Backlash and Summerslam.

Jeff Hardy - need I explain myself? I will anyways. This is the guy that I could see winning this years rumble, had he not already had a seperate match. He's probably the most over guy with the fans, get the biggest pops of the night every night, and barely talks. Biut when he does, I know I look forward to it. And wether you say he cuts a good promo or not, he compaired Vince McMahon to Saddam Hussien. I see Jeff Hardy possibly going into Wrestlemania against none other than Vince himself, and look at the push Lashley got with that feud. Which brings me to...

Lashley - This guy was on the biggest roll ever! He was one night removed from coming moments away from winning the gold when he got sidelined. He might not be on all our minds, but thats because the WWE isn't reminding us he's still hurt all the time (eh Mr Cena?) Lashley will return at the rumble, but he won't win it. Still, I can actually see Bobby Lashley being the guy to dethrone Randy Orton, probably around next fall. Just a random date.

And last but not least
Shelton Benjamin - NOT BREAKING OUT! Read On... Shelton already had his huge time a few years ago before being weight down by Mr Haas. I can see Shelton getting the same treatment as Elijah Burke, or even John Morrison (excluding the last minute title shot). he'll show up, eventually feud with Punk, but he'll never win the big one, and eventually just stop showing up, or worse, get stuck teaming with the Miz.

Barring unforeseen circumstances, and implying that they all continue working hard..

MAIN EVENT:
1. John Morrison - This guy has been on an upward scale like a rocket since winning the ECW title. Though he's a little demoted from that position, he's still a champion, and he's getting near constant exposure. If they're looking for new heel main event performers, the only thing holding Morrison back is that he needs to have a bit of an edge when he speaks. He just screams potential.

2. Jeff Hardy - Jeez, this guy has been improving lately. A few months ago he was suspended from bad behavior, but that must've been the wakeup call. Hardy has it in him to be one of the top guys in the company by the end of 08 if they give him the right feuds and such.

3. MVP - Another guy that is practically on the main event as it is. The only thing holding him back (aside from his finisher, in my opinion) is that he has the US title. You give this guy a good feud with someone he can work well with, like HBK, and that'll be his foot in the door.

SOLID MIDCARD:
1. Lance Cade - If this guy could only get Murdoch off his back! Trevor's unknowingly sinking this guy from what he could be. Cade has it in him to be at the top of the midcard if given a run. I would be very, very shocked if he didn't win the Intercontinental title by this time next year.

2. Cody Rhodes - A lot of potential. He's a little too young to be pushed to a ridiculous extreme, but he could be a very worthy option for the IC title after he gets done with his tag team run.

3. Santino Marella - The only thing holding this guy back is his in-ring skills. If they're given a fine tuning, he'll be gold, cause he's hilarious on the mic. I HATED his guts when he was a face because he was just so damn boring, but as a heel, he's a nightly highlight.

4. D.H. Smith - Well he's not off to a good start, lol, but Harry probably has it in him to be in the middle of the midcard and maybe have a nice tag team run.

5. Festus - This guy blows Jesse out of the water. The crowd loves him, he has an interesting gimmick, and he's entertaining to watch. If they book him right, he could be a good midcard face.

6. Kevin Thorn - Keep improving and you'll be a viable contender for the midcard titles.

7. Jamie Noble - He's been impressing me a lot lately. I don't think he'll ever really have it in him to be the top champ, but he could definitely compete for the United States title and I wouldn't think twice about it.

8. Elijah Burke - I don't see him being a main event guy either, because he'll have to run through the midcard status first. Another guy I could see being a strong midcard wrestler.

TAG TEAM:
1. Major Bros - I agree with the others that are saying these two could very well get what they need by being heels. They're boring as faces, but they're pretty good in the ring, and maybe if they work well enough with Edge, they can develop a much needed personality to become the top tag team.

IN DANGER / WHO COULD, BUT PROBABLY WON'T:

1. Mr. Kennedy - I, for one, am a fan of the guy, but I can see why he hasn't been pushed yet. He's a little shakey in the ring sometimes, but where this guy excels is on the mic. The problem, though, is that for some reason they haven't been giving him any mic time. Hell, he doesn't even do his own introduction anymore! That's his hook...but apparently they'd rather use that time for Hornswoggle. I really hope he sets his crosshairs and deserves a push, but I kind of don't think he'll be as big of a hit as we had hoped a few months ago.

2. Kenny Dykstra - This guy has a ton of potential, but they don't seem to want to focus on him. All he needs is a good feud or to be involved in a good tag team and it'll help him out, but when you don't give the guy any screen time, how's he supposed to get over with the fans? This seems like its WWE's fault, not Dykstra's, though I'm not backstage or anything so he might be an ass to work with or something.

3. CM Punk - He's been sort of streamlining himself ever since he won the ECW title and its becoming boring. Punk could climb the WWE roster but he just seems like he isn't putting forth all the effort he could in his matches anymore. Unless they switch things up...turn him heel or send him over to Raw or Smackdown instead of ECW, he might just be stagnant.

4. Shelton Benjamin - Man, I hope he gets comfortable and better on the mic, cause this guy has to much in-ring talent that its a shame it goes to waste a lot. I don't know if he'll keep getting better or if he'll just throw himself back down to the lower midcard like he's done before.

I think Carlito needs the biggest push out of anybody. The WWE needs to keep this guy happy. Give him another run with the intercontinental title. Have him defend it vigourisly, and by the middle of 2008, have him feud with whoever is the WWE champ. Which by the way titles are being held in the WWE right now, will either be Randy Orton or John Cena

The only guy I see that will really breakout next year right now is Jeff Hardy. Only because they are pushing him hard it looks like and the majority of the fans seem to like him. He has also improved his charisma and his ring skills are still there.

Lashley is another guy that could break out, but he really doesn't need to break out per say. He was already pushed heavily and pretty over before he got hurt. With the right angle and circumstances he can become bigger.

Santino also seems to be getting some momentum thanks to his acting and mic skills. Hopefully he can tune his wrestling skills and deliver in some matches. Unfortunately they seemed to have killed his heat a little lately and pushed him down the card.

MVP is good all around but for some reason he still seems to be missing something to reach the next level, maybe it will happen for him next year.

There are newer guys like Elijah Burke, DH Smith, Cody Rhodes that seem to have potential also.

The problem is I think until Wrestling gets hot again we probably won't see someone reach a level of Hogan/Hart/Austin/Rock/Foley etc..I think when wrestling is big as a whole it is more exciting every star was elevated even more. The storylines seem to be more interesting etc..2007 wasn't the greatest year in Wrestling especially with the Benoit tragedy and such. I have been a wrestling fan for 20 years and this was the first year I didn't watch it on a regular basis. I used to tape every show like crazy. Hopefully it will turn around in 2008.

Last thing I wish is that Cena would come back as heel. IMHO a face Cena has played out and I could see better things they could do with a heel Cena.

I feel it will be Jeff Hardy's year. I think it will be his time as a world champion, and he will move up in the ranks from mid-card to main event.

Shelton should have been Champion a long time ago. He's good on the mic and is EXTREMELY athletic. It took WWE to put him in ECW and realize it.I see Shelton winning the ECW title in 2008.On Smack Down, I see MVP becoming big but i don't see him in the World title picture but he'll make an impact in 2008.Raw,I see Kennedy making his presence felt in the company but I don't see him winning the WWE title. When Cena returns,he'll be champion and we'll be miserable for another year.

MVP is the only person i see ''breakingthrough''.

He is equally good in the ring as he is on the mic. I honestly see him wearing the WHC by Summerslam.

as for Kennedy..i was a huge supporter of his....WAS. I actually get somewhat aggravated by him now. I know he has it in him, but unless he gets more stick time aside from his entrance, he is gonna get more and more redundant. Not to mention his mediocre in ring work. If he can get the steam back that he had at the first half of the year,l he might pull it off.

CM Punk i can see, but only with a strong heel turn. I cant put my finger on the reasoning, but i have always seen him as a believable heel as opposed to a candy coated face. I think a move to Smackdown and a heel turn can elevate him intensly.

RAW :

Mr Kennedy . Things might not be going as well as planned for him right now but in due time i can see him carrying the company in a few years along with the likes of orton, cena, lashley, edge, mvp etc. So next year should be his breakthrough year, let's just hope nothing go's wrong for him like this year !

Jeff Hardy . Jeff is getting the push of his life right now, he has always been over with the fans since day one but now he's finally made it to the main at a ppv where it really matters . He's going all the way to the top next year imo.

Carlito . The WWE just needs to keep him happy next year. Give him the ic title, jeff doesn't really need it to be honest. I was blown away by his athletiscm in the ladder match with Jeff Hardy a couple of weeks ago, he really showed what he can do if he puts in a 100 %. Can't see him becoming a mega star next year but i think it will be a great year for him none the less.

ECW:

CM Punk. I think its safe to say that he doesnt need the ECW title anymore, and their's definetly other stars that could benefit from holding the title.
Move him to RAW or SD! where he can start new feuds and get more exposure, because alot of people dont watch ecw so it's for a move to either brand where he can shine.

Shelton Benjamin. Improving drasticly on the mic, getting more air time, recieving a push and drawing crowd heat. Shelton's breakthrough year was actualy nearly four years ago now, but he dropped the ball and slid down to the lower card so next year should be more of a huge push than anything else . Keep him on ECW, give him the title for a few months and he will be good to go.

SD!

MVP. Will be WHC by this time next year imo, golden on the mic, great in the ring, and draws just about as much heat as jbl which very few people in the history of the company can do.

Major Brothers. Just like edge said, stick with him and you'r going all the way to the top, i can see them having a long reign as tag champs next year.

Jamie Noble. With Palumbo turning heel i can see jamie turning face and sticking with michelle mccool, i can also see him winning the cruiserweight title, so if evrything go's right in 08 for him, he'l have the title and the girl, sounds pretty good to me. ;)

i see 1 guy haveing a breakout year this year

1.MVP. this guy impressed me the whole 2007 i mean his fueds with the undertaker and kane were kind of dull and from then i thought he was done but ths year he stepped up big time i like everything about the guy now his entrance, outfit and his wrestling abilities has steped up big time he had one of the best fueds of the year with matt hardy.
