Which WWE personality has made you laugh the most?

I was just reading a story about Daniel Bryan and Kane, and how everyone seems to enjoy the comedy in it, especially Vince McMahon.

So, it got me thinking, which WWE personality, past or present, has made you laugh the most?

Who has actually made the most of a comic situation on WWE, and it is not embarrassing, but "laugh-out-loud" funny?

I have been amused by the Rock's backstage interviews, and I loved Chris Jericho's putdowns of people, especially his long-running insulting of Stephanie McMahon Helmsley.

I thought "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was good value as a heel, and when Kurt Angle was teaming with him, and both were vying for Mr McMahon's attention, it was comedy gold (I loved the ukulele and the children's cowboy hats).

But the two figures who consistently get a smile out of me are William Regal and Goldust.

Goldust's impressions and suggestive comments are very funny, and Dustin Rhodes knows how to ham it up.

William Regal's comments, and facial expressions are the funniest things I have seen in WWE. His face-pulling reminds me of Mr Bean.

I remember when Regal was giving etiquette lessons to the WWE Universe years ago. He said that the best way to wipe your face after a meal is to touch the napkin on your mouth, don't wipe, as wiping is for another orifice instead.

So, who has made you laugh the most in WWE?

Althought I agree with your options Bobby "The Brain" Heenan always had me entertained whether it was a performer, a manager, or even commantry, he had all three phases covered........ pick your most hilarious moment with him.........

When I read the post heading, I too thought of Stone Cold and The Rock as the obvious ones; but also immediately thought of Perry Saturn.

When you mentioned Regal, it reminded me of the skit when Tajiri was Regal's assistant and they were trying to convince Perry Saturn they had found Moppy.

Saturn looked at both of them and said That's not Moppy!! That's just a mop with a face on it!!

After Saturn stormed out, Regal turned to Tajiri and said, well that's another fine mess you got us into.

Still the funniest thing I've seen on WWE TV. If anyone has a copy, please post on Youtube!!

So that's the funniest moment; but I guess for consistently laugh out loud funny, I can't go past Attitude Era Rock. His skits with Kevin Kelly were hilarious.

Defiantly Bobby Heenans commentary from the very late 80’s, early 90’s when he worked with Gorilla Monsoon. He always had at least one funny dig or some amusing analysis towards whatever face was in the ring. Jerry Lawler in the mid 90’s really used to make me laugh. King of the Ring 96 comes to mind when he’s supposedly poring alcohol all over Jake Roberts, the ongoing joke with Helen and Stu always used to crack me up. As for a wrestler in recent times I would have to go with the Rock for obvious reasons, but watching Ric Flair (in TNA especially) when he’s face turns REALLY red and he looks like he’s going to have a heart attack during a promo, a saggy old legend going nuts and elbow dropping the canvas … Funny stuff.
Honourable mentions: Mae Young, Dustin Rhodes, Kurt Angle. In ring Eddie was very comical at times too.

When CM Punk was on commentary he made me laugh the whole show. The Rock always made me laugh when I was younger. Currently besides Kane & DB, Santino Marella makes me laugh. His speed walking is hilarious. I tried not to like him but he's so funny he turned me into a fan of his.

I'll go with Stone Cold. He does humor so well, sometimes subtle and sometimes singing out loud. I think he's underrated in terms of the intelligence that he brought to his mic skills. I know he was mostly "hell yeah" "bottom liiiiiiine", but there was a lot of good stuff in there, and he made me laugh plenty.

Currently: Kane/Daniel Bryan are doing a good job of adding humor into a real feud...or partnership...or whatever. I AM THE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!

Who does or did NOT make me laugh:

Vince: Worst sense of humor of any wrestling personality. I know the arrogance goes with his character as a heel or a face, but I just can't laugh along with someone when they're turing their nose up at you.

DX: Toiler humor poorly acted. Just didn't work for me.

Guys who got old fast:

Santino

Having always appreciated a good dose of politically incorrect humor, I have always found Goldust extremely funny. Especially after he was electrocuted and ended up with the stammering problem! When he confronted Triple H and Nature Boy in the ring, standing up for his new friend Booker T., it went down as perhaps my favourite funny moment ever. He was telling Triple H that he didn't have the guts to face Booker, and started to say "Deep down, Hunter.....down THERE (pointing to his groin)....in the Caw...Cawwww.....COCK.....COCKLES DAMMIT! COCKLES!!!" Trips and Flair were not able to contain themselves and the tears were running down their faces from laughing so hard!!!

Christian!

Didn't matter if he was teaming with Edge or Jericho he's always kept me highly entertained. Between the "Kurt Angle Chicken Suit", Edge & Christian's interactions with Foley, to the ass cream with Jericho. The man is hysterical.

I think Stone Cold when he was desperate to impress Mr McMahon was amazing, especially the stuff he did with Kurt Angle. Angle was a fantastic comedy character, it's a shame we don't see that side of his personality anymore, the 3 of them together was gold. Austin in his Alliance phase was brilliant too, some of the stuff he came out with was hilarious, I still watch clips of that on YouTube all the time.

Chris Jericho was another who was hilarious, especially his constant insults towards Stephanie McMahon- simply world class. I much preferred that version of Y2J to the slow-talking suit-wearing heel we saw in his 2nd WWE run. One promo in particular he did with The Rock where they were stealing each others catchphrases stands out in my mind. I have it saved on my "favourites" of my browser to this day, I laugh every time.

Finally, I would go with The Rock in the late 1990s, the stuff he would say to Kevin Kelly, Michael Cole and Coach was brilliant, not a single interview went by without Rocky absolutely laying into one of them, and they were always so funny.

1 man deserves this award- Kurt Angle. The segment when he was showing what HHH's baby would look like, Cowboy hats, Riding Undertaker's bike,Brock Lesnar milk segment Etc. He makes himself look such a goofy idiot but was so funny.

Great thread!!!

And my clear answer to this question is: Scott Steiner

Steiner was an arrogant idiot on the mic and it was ****ing hilarious!! And watching Buff Bagwell hop around in the background making gestures to the crowd made THAT much funnier.

Top Moments:

-When he told the crowd they can't understand him because they don't have a degree from a higher educated university (U of Michigan) like he does. Funniest thing is he actually does! :lmao:

-When he and Buff Bagwell had their spring break tour

-When he called Ric Flair a shar pei puppy and called him out for stealing Buddy Rogers' nickname

-When he challenged HHH to a pose-down lmao

-In TNA when he interrupted Matt Morgan's plea for a title shot. Even though he hadn't won a match in months, yet he gets in Matt's face and says "as far as I'm concerned, the line for title shots starts behind me!"

Close runners up would include:

Ric Flair, Kurt Angle, Stone Cold, Chris Jericho

The segments with Booker T and Goldust had me laughing every week back in the early 2000's!

Another one that makes me laugh every time used to be Michael Cole, i'd crack up every time he said "May I have your attention please" then he'd gather major heat and he'd get the funniest smirk on his face

I have to say, due to only becoming a fan during attitude era I am one of those who was slow to respect just how great or funny Bobby Heenan was. His commentary during the Gimmick Battle Royal at WMX7 alone had me in tears. Will never ever forget the comment "By the time Iron Sheik gets to the ring it will be Wrestlemania 38". Just the way he delivered it was amazing.

Other than that, Im guna have to go with The King. His commentary with JR was honestly comedy gold sometimes, the arguing during the Taker/Flair match at WMX8 was absolutely hilarious.

There has been some great laugh out loud moments in the WWE and Kane and Bryan are fast becoming my favorite comedy duo in the companys history. But at the moment its still the Rock. He never failed to make me laugh and I will always remember the This is your life moment with him and Mike Foley. A close second would have to be D-X. they were funny throughout there Career but there funniest stuff had to have come later on when it was just HHH and HBK. There funniest moment moment had to be the night they had a bounty put on there heads and had everyone from eugene to the spirt squad try to claim it only for D-X to dispatch each one with comical effect.

My vote goes with Vince McMahon. The guy just oozes gold... figuratively. His work with Austin, The rock, Mankind, Trish, his wife. Every bit of it was hilarious (at least at the time). The guys face is made of humour putty, he can express 600 different types of disgust. Didnt matter who he was working with he always made me laugh!

Kai En Tai (Taka and Funaki) -

EEEVVVVVILLLLLLLLLLL!
INDEED!

They were damned funny. Funaki and Taka Michinoku at their finest, IMO. When they had a full stable, the Val Venis "I choppy choppy your pee pee!" skit was hilarious, too. That whole storyline was just comedy gold.

It's a shame the younger fans don't know just how funny Bobby Heenan was. Almost everything that came out of his mouth was classic. The bits with he and Monsoon were hilarious.

Bobby was naturally funny. He didn't need a comedy writer he just knew how to play off others. And he didn't mind being the butt of a joke if it was entertaining to the fans. He was the heel that you just loved to love.

It's odd to me though cause Bobby had me laughing in my youth but to see him in his current condition makes me sad as an adult.

There will never be another Bobby Heenan. :icon_sad:

The Rock - Whether it was with an interviewer, ring announcer, commentator or a fellow wrestler, Rocky was just a genius at how to make people crack up. Like Naitch said, his stuff with Kevin Kelly, Michael Cole, Coach, even Lilian Garcia was brilliant. I remember DX's impersonation of The Corporation and while that was funny as hell, The Rock just came out and stole that segment in a second when he started parodying the WCW wrestlers' catchprases. There was the hilarious singoff between Austin & Rock on the RAW go home show before Survivor Series 2001 which is one of my favourite RAW segments ever. I can name so many funny promos & segments from The Rock but it would take me all day just to list them down. When it comes to superstars who have made me laugh out the most, The Rock makes first place on my list.

Stone Cold - There have been times where I've thought Stone Cold was funnier than The Rock but at the end of the day, they are both gods when it comes to comedy. There was the backstage segments with him, Angle & Vince, the stuff he did in the Alliance, the WHAT?'s, some of the ways that he would terrorize Vince during their epic feud, I remember him calling Chris Benoit a "snaggle tooth bastard" which had me rolling on the floor, and there was this classic line he used on Flair where he asked him "since you like to call yourself the Nature Boy, does that mean you like nature? Does that mean you like boys?".

Kurt Angle - Just like his medals, Angle was pure gold when it came to comedy - from his funny insults on the crowd's hometown each week on RAW & Smackdown, the segments with Undertaker's motorbikes, his competition with Austin for Vince's attention to the Milk Truck.

Jerry Lawler - His reactions to the 'Puppies', his feud with Bret where he would insult Stu & Helen Hart and imitate Stu's voice, his feud with Piper where he would make fun of his kilt and bring out some skinny kid to impersonate Piper, god they were all priceless.

Ric Flair - I've said it before, I honestly don't think he intends to be funny whenever he's going crazy in the ring with his over the top reactions but you just can't help bursting out in laughter every time he does. His segments with Jay Lethal where both of em were doing their Ric Flair acts at the same time, had me in stitches.

Edge & Christian - Along with the likes of Chandler Bing & Joey Tribbiani, Charlie & Alan Harper, Harry & Lloyd from Dumb & Dumber, these guys go down as one of my favourite funniest tandems ever. No other tag team will ever be able to repeat the same amounts of hilarity these guys bought from their interactions with Mick Foley, their jokes, their made up words, the midgets they used to impersonate their opponents and other stuff. One line I remember from Edge that still has me laughing to this day is "Mick Foley sat back, scratched himself and ate some candy cotton", LOL.

R-Truth - I can't contain myself every time he does his bits with Little Jimmy, they're just so god damn funny. Last year, when Truth interrupted Austin & Vince and he came out dressed in a confederate soldier's uniform, singing the "Little Jimmy coming marching home, hoorah" song, that was the first time the WWE had me laughing in ages. That's one of my favourite entrances ever. I also remember the promo from last year with HHH, where Trips is mocking him, talking to imaginary people, and then Truth comes out with the "wait a minute, you crazy" line :lmao:.

Santino - Along with R-Truth, he's my favourite comedy character today. His work with Austin a few years ago and the way he pronounces some of the superstars names (like "John Chena") are just hilarious. I'm dying to see the day he & Mick Foley or he & The Rock are in a segment together, it would be fantastic.

Kaientai - Back in the day, when I first watched their "Evil" & "Indeed!" skits, I didn't find it funny at first, but lately I've been rewatching the Attitude Era RAW's & SD's on Youtube and they've had me laughing so hard.

Mick Foley & Eddie Guerrerro - I have to go out now, so I don't have to time to explain for these two, but I'll leave you with the segment that got me into Eddie Guerrerro & his comedy. This is one of my favourite segments ever from Eddie.

A great moment I remember was between Booker T and Tajiri

Booker T is pithcing an advertisement to Tajiri saying "Hey Japanese people, why do ya'll got such nasty hair, just because you know kung fu doesnt mean you know shampoo" Tajiri gets offended by this and calls Booker "Buckwheat on crack" brilliant!

Another moment has to be the segement when Vince Mcmahon was in hospital with the broken leg and gets the visits from Mankind (with Socko) and Stone Cold who ends up beating Vince over the head with a bed pan. Loved it

Roddy Piper and Bobby Heenan were alltime greats!!

when DX lampooned the nation of Domination and the Rock is was awesome, recently also when HBK dressed up as Shane and danced like a fool,I had tears in my eyes!!

BUT the alltime best moment,(please someone find this on youtube)
SummerSlam 1991,NYC Jailhouse match...Mountie had to spend the night in an NYC jail....

First when he gets fingerprinted:
"You want to see my finger,HERE'S MY FINGER"...first time I believe the bird was flipped on a WWF/E PPV

Then once in the cell:
A drunk comes up to mountie and asks"You want to fight my buddy, there's my buddy"
This big leather wearing biker-type guy comes up on him and says:
"Don't you just love the way leather feels on your body?"

They go back to ringside and Piper says "I think the Mountie has found a new friend"

Steiner is HILARIOUS, though I know people either love or hate his mic work and there is no room in between. I think my favorite may be when he was backstage at TNA explaining how he figured that he had a 140% chance of winning a match vs Samoa Joe and Angle.

If not Steiner then the wrestler whose made me laugh the most is JBL. Everything his character does is hilarious, from commentary to pretty much every promo. He's taken some crap writing and made the scenes enjoyable to watch anyway. The thing that got me every time though were the video promos of him doing heel stuff with a smile on his face and the voice over saying what a great guy he was while his theme played in the background. Always killed me

YES!!!

Can't believe I forgot to put this one down. This is what made Summerslam 91 for me and what got me into The Mountie/Jaques Rougeau. His screaming & ranting throughout the segments and the way he just stared at the gay biker at the end then screamed for someone to let him out was utterly hilarious. The guy should go into the HOF just for that alone, his entire perfomance was fuckin brilliant.

That Mountie skit was funny lol, I had forgotten all about that one. Great stuff. For me though it is Bobby Heenan. He really did know how to play off of who ever he was doing commentary with. Listen to him during the 1992 Royal Rumble match. He keeps you going the entire match. Ham and eggers always made me laugh to when he used it. I encourage any of the younger fans who may not have seen The Brain to check out some of his stuff.

oh great topic... some of my favorites are Goldust, Santino, Jericho, Christian.

Kane though is probably the best though. This Daniel Bryan pairing is not kane's first comedy bit. He has consistantly popped up backstage in funny momments his whol career he as had great momens with rock, hogan, RVD, Regal, Bryan, and another favorite of mine who seems to get overlooked in this thread, The Hurricane. WHAS UP WIT DAT?!?
