Which of these helps out a new wrestler the most?

Thriller Ant

Beep Bop Boop
It is obvious that a new debuting wrestler has to have charisma, in-ring talent, and mic skills. What I'm asking about is other stuff that makes a guy unique: entrance music, ring wear, and a catch phrase.

I will use Zack Ryder, who just redebuted, as an example. He has very unique ring attire, no one else wears tights like his. He also has entrance music that just about everyone loves. When the 'Oh radio' hits, I personally start marking the fuck out. And finally, he has 'Woo Woo Woo,' which may be the best catch phrase in wresting today. It is simple, and is very flexible.

So I ask you, wrestlezone, which is most useful for a debuting wrestler: Good Entrance Music, Unique Ring Wear, or a Great Catch Phrase?

I hate to say this, but of the choices listed, it is music.

Look beyond Zack Ryder. Kofi Kingston's music helped get the character over. It sets the tone for his personality and move set. The Hart trilogy's music reminds me of The Hart Foundation's. R-Truth got over with the fans by yelling what's up. The music is every crowd's first impression of a superstar, and often times, if the music gets the crowd up, the wrestler has less work to do to keep them up.

I'm gonna play devil's advocate here. Music is usually the first impression, but in general, ring attire and catch phrases last longer. Look at Dolph Ziggler. He started with generic music, his own unique look, and a catch phrase. He already has new music, but everything else has changed. Kane has had music changes, but nothing else changes. I think out of the three, music may leave the biggest impact, but it is also the most dynamic.

Theme music, by miles. Ive BEEN saying it.

Dolph Ziggles. Catch phrase. no one gives a shit. RIDICULOUS ring attire. no one gives a shit. SWEET entrance theme? now people are starting threads about his epicness.

Legacy. Good look. Decent mic skills. No one gives a shit. Sweet entrance theme? Now we are MEing RAW fighting Randy Orton, and in serious contention for the tag titles.

Kozlov. Good look. no catch phrase. BAD THE FUCK ASS when he got his theme music.

fuckin shit man, even damn Bastista, who is a well established ME guy. His music, and entrance overall, benefit his character like crazy. Same with Orton, and voices.

Its music, all the fuckin way.

Music is without doubt the most important thing in getting over but also staying over. What is the most iconic thing about Stone Cold. Is it "that's the bottom line" catchphrase? Is it his bald head? Or is it the glass shattering? 100% the glass shattering. The first line of a superstars music is very important. Fans hear it and they react. For example Matt Hardy still gets little pops from the "oh yeeeaaahhh" part of his theme. It worked wonders when he was a face, now he's a heel it needs changing.

Back to superstars debuting you need to look no further than R-Truth. In his first few months he had a few five minute matches, never cut a promo but just rapped his "What's up" theme. He is STILL over from that nearly a year later. Everyone recognises his tune. Off the top of your head can you remember Ricky Ortiz's theme music? Me neither.

Music all the way. It's what first gives you an impression of a wrestler. The Rock's, Stone Colds, HHH's, Michaels, Batista, Cena, Orton, Edge, Jericho, both Hardy's fuck, all these guys have gotten over with a lot of help from their entrance themes.

Music is VERY important in getting a crowd into you.

Yeah definitely music. Look at DiBiase. His first night we all marked the fuck out over him I'm Priceless line. It's done....pretty much nothing since. The attire can help but it can also be distracting. The music though man, it just sets the tone. Look at the two of the biggest names in the history of the business: Austin and Flair. WHen you hear Flair's music, you get the feeling that you're about to see greatness. The sounds of that song just make you feel like something magnificent is coming, and that's what Flair's game was built around: his perfection in the ring. Austin started with the glass shatter, which meant something popping really fast. It instanly made the crowd realize something hard hitting wsa coming. It sets the tone really fast and can define a character. Easily music.
