Where would their career have gone?

My friend and I were talking about this since the death of Randy "Macho Man" Savage about dead wrestlers and how their careers would've gone.

You can use any deceased wrestler but me and my friend brought up two that probally would've gone on to greater heights. Those two are Mr.Perfect and Eddie Guerrero.

Eddie Guerrero would've most likely gone on to win the World Heavyweight Championship a few more times.I'm read somewhere he was supposed to win it on a Smackdown event after Survivor Series and it would end up being a Wrestlemania match with Undertaker vs Eddie Guerrero vs Randy Orton. Eddie had a huge fanbase and had the skills to put on a great match with anyone. He had the charisma and could play either a heel or face.It would've hurt him in this pg-13 era however because WWE wouldnt exactly want kids to be learning about Lieing,Cheating and Stealing. We also talked about the dream match that everyone would want.Eddie Guerrero vs Shawn Michaels. Both guys could do any type of wrestling and could put on a great match.

Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig was a great wrestler but I think he wouldnt have won the World Heavyweight/WWE Championship. He just didnt have that draw power. He had the moves and he made his gimmick pure gold but I cant see a run with a main title.I can see multiple title runs however lengthy with the IC championship.Imagine the feuds he would be able to have with todays wrestlers such as a feud with CM Punk etc

It appeared that Eddie had several good wrestling years left. I have to think that he would have won at least 2 more WWE Championships. Fans absolutely went nuts for him. He made cheating cool and acceptable. Plus, with Eddie, you always had that underdog to root for.

Curt Hennig would have never won the big one in WWE. He was well past his prime when he died (he may have even been semi-retired). His chance for the WWE title was when it was the WWF and he was in great programs with Hogan and Hart. I remember reading something that said injury forced him away from the ring in the WWF, hence his managering Flair and working in the broadcast position.

I was really hopeful Curt would win the WCW title at some point. Alas, this was never meant to be. He was a great US Champ. Shit, David Arquette got the belt. For me, Curt's career was over when they gave him that stupid country cowboy gimmick and had him sing "rap is crap."

He was AWA champ though...

Stephanie McMahon has gone on record saying that Eddie would have won the title on the 18th October, 2005 edition of Smackdown due to Batista's injury. I think that Eddie would have essayed a Kurt Angle-Shawn Michaels like role in the WWE had he been alive. He would have mostly put on entertaining feuds with the up and coming superstars and when there was the need of an experienced hand to hold the title, Eddie would have been passed on the strap. He was an underdog, due to his size, and an antihero, due to his cheating tactics, rolled into one and his presence would have surely enriched our viewing experience.

Guys like Mr Perfect and Owen Hart, to take another name would have never won a title in the WWE. Perfect was past his prime when he died and was mostly looked on as a midcarder throughout his career. It's not entirely his fault I guess, because his back injury was always on the back of the mind's of the bookers. It would be an awkward situation if your champion had to suddenly give up his title due to an injury. It decreases the value of the title.

Owen was another guy who was showing no signs of movement up the card. People say that he was going to use "The Game" gimmick but I feel that it wouldn't have been anything like Triple H's gimmick. If anything it would have been something like "Gold Standard" Shelton Benjamin. His death is the most tragic death in wrestling but I think that it is important not to let his death glorify his abilities. He was a good in all departments of the business, particularily as a heel, but he lacked that something special that would have taken him to the top of the tree. The only moments during which he seemed like a main eventer was when he was feuding with Bret.
