Where would Edge be today?

I could not find this anywhere so i thought i would start a thread on this.

I have always loved Edge, and he has had 11 world Championships in his illustrious career (that was unfortunately cut short by injuries). I think that if Edge was still in the business today he would have at least 13-14 world title reigns by this time in his career and would be in serious discussion of breaking Ric Flair's record.

I think today, I would like to see Edge involved in a feud with CM Punk (even though they have in the past, but it could be much much better) or Daniel Bryan, I think they could of had some GREAT feuds between those two matches. And think about too, the impact the Shield would have with Edge and the Wyatt Family! So many possibilities that could happen, and of course Cena and Orton are still around for a good top guy vs. top guy feud! I think Edge would be pushing Cena right now as the top guy in the business all around, maybe not too close in money but i feel he was one of the top heels the business has had.

Now i do feel like Edge could be in some discussion as the greatest of all time but i do not think too many people (at least not me) see him in the same discussion as the Rock, Austin, hogan, Undertaker, Flair, Cena, HBK, etc…! I think Edge was really close to actually being the next name that was to be added to that list. I think Edge could of eventually been one of those guys but i feel he is still just a notch below (which is a travesty).

So now my questions for the rest of the WWE Universe (download the WWE App now…lol) Could Edge still be one of the top guys today if he was not injured? Could Edge eventually challenge Ric Flair's World Titles reigns like Cena is doing? Should Edge still be around today, where would you like to see him (storyline?, Title, etc…)? And if Edge would of had another 5 years would he be in the same discussion with the Greatest of All Time?

Pretty sure from watching and following WWE regularly that Edge as a top Heel would be a welcome superstar if he was available.
I am also in agreement that he would have got a couple more title reigns by now also.
Would have been interesting which direction he would be. Perhaps, he could have been the Authority's new "Face" rather than Orton? Seems a very likely and interesting match, tbh.
However, most of all, I think Edge's presence would have made sure that the WHC would have remained much more relevant than it was, and him leaving when he did surely hurt WWE in a big way. Also Taker,HBK,Batista,Y2J,RVD and HHH all leaving or retiring/becoming part timers was a very big blow and is the main reason that the Main Event seems stale to an extent with only Daniel Bryan truly establishing himself.
Right now; Only 5 guys can be counted as True Main Eventers: Cena,Orton,Punk,Bryan and Big Show...
whilst there is a pretty decent Mid Card out of which there is a need for at least 3 of these decent Mid Carders to be pushed into the Main Event picture.

If Edge was still around the whole landscape of WWE would be different imo. First of all, they would have still had the draft that year but I don't think Orton would have moved to Smackdown. The brand split would not have ended also. Edge would be the face of Smackdown still only occasionally moving over to RAW. I'm not sure how the CM Punk thing would have played out because with Orton still on RAW there's a chance he would have feuded with Cena for the title and Punk would have walked. Edge would be close to breaking Flair's record and would be in the conversation for GOAT status. But it's crazy to think all things that Edge's retirement was the catalyst for could have been the catalyst for. It's sad he had to go though.

It's easy to romanticize the careers of our favorite performers who had their career cut short for whatever reason, but when Edge left it wasn't all that long ago and I think provided a fairly clear picture of where he might be today.

I would place him in a similar class to all main-event stars whose name isn't John Cena…part of a rotating cast who will perpetually be in the #2-4 slot of the company at any given time. He likely would've gone through feuds with Cena, Bryan, Punk, Orton, Big Show, and ADR by now, probably picking up a title run or two along the way, but ultimately he was never destined to be the face of the company. While we might've been short changed a few good matches with some of the newer talent thats emerged like The Shield or the Wyatts, remember his best days were already behind him at the time of his retirement. He had a 14 year career in WWE respectable by anyone's standards, but especially given all he accomplished during that time.

Even if his injuries hadn't turned out to be career-ending, look how few guys in WWE were able to have 14 year careers, and of those look at how frequently they are out with nagging injuries, guys like Mark Henry, Mysterio, Christian, etc. It seems like every time they come back they are injured again within a month, just the nature of the beast.

During his run he literally did it all…headlined Mania, fought Taker at Mania, multi-time winner of every belt in the company, King of the Ring, Royal Rumble, Money In the Bank, you name it, he did it all. So when it all boils down, I think Edge finished his career the same way he would've had it run it full course, he just got their sooner. He achieved every milestone, there was nothing else to prove.

The man is 40 years old and has had a long history of injury problems. He'd be a part-timer at best by 2013.

On topic, I saw/read somewhere that Edge was actually planning to retire in 2013, dropping the World Title to Christian. Not sure if it was entirely true.

you can go on brainstorming where he'd be I think he'd have made the heavyweight title as important as it was during hhh's run would have given some of the most memorable moments...
put over some faces that lost their push(as faces) in absence of a good heel like zigs shamo etc...even adr
i personally would have loved to see a db edge fued as a face he could have worked against the shield....
although i dont think he has achieved anything less than the people you consider greats, if his career wasnt cut short he probably would have been much similar to shawn during his 2nd run in wwe.
and last but not the least WRESTLING WOULD STILL BE FUN

It's fun to jump to conclusions;
Randy would've taken Rey's place jobbing to Cena at the end of tourney for the WWE Title
Only because Randy wouldn't be off TV like Mysterio had afterwards
Cena v. Rock would've still headlined but over Punk v. Orton
no Orton v. Kane, no Punk v. Jericho
Jericho would likely be in the WHC picture instead; He or Edge would have won RR
Not Sheamus, no 18 second WM match, no YES! chants, no DBry push, no Team Hell No BOOM
Instead, Christian or more likely Cody would win MitB
Edge would of course retain against ADR BUT
Brodus Clay wouldnt have Christian injure him; no Funkasaurus, no Funkadactlys, no Total Divas BOOM
Edge would go on to drop the title to Mark Henry vs Big Show
and by WM the title picture would be among Edge/Jericho/Christian/Rhodes/Mysterio(depending on MitB/RR)

I think had Edge's career not been cut short he would have feuded with D Bryan and Dolph Ziggler over the WHC. He'd probably be WHC right now and Cena would still be healing at home because Edge and Orton would have played well battling as the "Face" of the company. Taking into account their past as Rated RKO would have really been intriguing to see. Punk & Bryan would be feuding with Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio over the WHC. Cody & Goldust would still be tagchamps feuding with Sandow and The Miz??? Endless possibilities really. Edge & Christian may have reunited the tagteam that dethroned the Shield.

Where would Edge be today? Same place he always was. Smackdown in the World Title picture not drawing or selling merchandise.

Edge is one of the most over rated of all time. I never understood the love the IWC had for him!

He said he wanted to retire the following year anyway. Had it not been his retirement match, Edge would have dropped the belt to Alberto Del Rio fulfilling his destiny. After a rematch feud with Del Rio, I think Edge and Christian would have moved to the tag division to help rebuild. I think they would have held the titles for a long time until sometime shortly after the MITB PPV (Christian wins MITB btw). Have Edge win the EC and the world title after entering first.... Christian cashes in on him immediately after. Have a stipulation that Edge can pick the match type if he agrees to put his career on the line. At Mania you get Christian going over Edge in TLC. Edge goes out putting over his buddy like he wanted to and Christian gets major heat for his first World Title run.

with all due respect, I think i would be difficult to move into the tag team division with Christian because
Edge would likely stay around the main event, Smackdown really needed it
AND the tag team division at the time was actually already in effort on RAW with Air Boom, Show/Kane, Nexus(who held the titles when Edge could drop the title to ADR)
But i totally agree that Christian would very likely win MitB and built into the title picture. And fascinating cash-in at EC.
And you left a major hole in the booking; What about the RR winner? certainly wouldnt be Sheamus or anyone just being thrown in EC with 5 other guys; imo Jericho?; Jericho/Edge/Christian WM.TLC OH HELL YEAH
