it seems like wwe trys to follow the past yr or 2 superbowl stadium. if thats the case wm 2012 will be held in either the dallas cowboy's stadium in dallas or sunlife stadium in miami. wm hasent come to either cities so its a strong possibility
Lol, considering that's only happened twice ever (Phoenix a couple years ago and Detroit a couple years before that), I'd hardly say they try to follow the Super Bowl, lol.
They need to bring Wrestlemania to the UK, its about fucking time
The UK has always been a loyal fanbase for the WWE, and we have had 1 SummerSlam and a couple of minor PPVs (Insurexxion/Rebellion), and I think we deserve the big one.
What would be the problem? Most people in the US watch it on PPV anyway, so I am thinking the time difference which would affect most of the US must be the only thing stopping Vince from bringing WM across the pond. Am I right? Or is there another reason why WWE will not give us Wrestlemania? It would definitely sell out Wembley stadium no question about it!
I hate to break it to you, but it will never happen, and you listed the reason why. The time difference. Think about it, your three choices would be:
A)Start WrestleMania at whatever time locally, and air it hours later on tape delay at the usual time (7pm ET, 4pm PT - it's starts an hour earlier than all other PPVs) in North America(not just the US, they have a lot of fans in Canada, too). Not going to happen, obviously, because there'd be people that wouldn't buy it if they can just read the results ahead of time online.
B)Start WrestleMania at midnight local time so it can start at the same time it always does...that means it ends at 4am local time. On a Sunday night. That's not going to happen, obviously, because who the F is going to be able to go to it, let alone be awake til the end?
C)Start WrestleMania at 7pm local time, air it live in North America at 2pm ET, 11am PT. Not going to happen, obviously, because you wouldn't get nearly the buys you usually do.
So there you go. It makes no sense whatsoever for them to have it in the UK, when you think about it. It's a lose-lose-lose situation for them. None of those scenarios are even plausible, let alone realistic. It sucks for the people in the UK, but when the overwhelmingly vast majority of your business is in North America, that's where you cater your decisions to.
As for where WrestleMania 28 will be, there seems to be a lot of candidates...the cities listed (Dallas, Miami, Toronto, etc) are good choices, but I'm going to list a city that hasn't been mentioned yet - New Orleans. I think it'd be great to give something to the city that's been though so much the last five years. They won't get it, they're hosting Hell in a Cell in October, but it'd be nice to see them get one someday. If I had to guess, I would say either Toronto or Vancouver - it's been a while since it was in Canada.
