Where is Samoa Joe's storyline going?

So anyone who saw Impact saw Joe lose to Orlando Jordan. In a serious head scratching moment I was in total shock until I really thought about it. This loss does two things. 1) It continues TNA's attempt (and boy is that the word to use here) to get Orlando Jordan over as legit. And 2) I believe this will start the return of the old Samoa Joe.

Where do you think this is going with Joe?

After the double take and checking my pulse to see if I had died and gone to mini-hell, I would have to agree that this is more then likely the direction they are taking Joe's character. And I think it's a good idea (not their execution, but the overall idea). I'm not a fan of Joe's recent persona since when he arrived at TNA I thought he was a badass and thats the way I like him. His current character had gotten quite stale and I think he could use a reboot.

Also TnA sux an iz guna die!

i will get back wit a reply cuz i agree with the guy who started this... i want his ass to snap, he can carry that nation of violence in a more ruthless agressive matter... get a makeover on them trunk of his... again ill get more into it later.

I can only see this going somewhere good for Joe. Im not a big fan of Joe or anything he has done because I never thought he really had any character until he put on the tribal face paint and changed up his attire. All I see TNA doing here may be something like WWE did with MVP. Put Joe on a loosing streak to a few guys, like suprise losses kind of like the OJ one then one day just snap and destroy whoever his opponent is in a big match. Whatever it will be I have a feeling it will be a big win, not just some midcarder like homicide or Kaz. I was just suprised that he was fighting for the World Title this past weekend and there going for the loosing streak storyline now. Or at least thats how it looks. The guy has alot of wrestling talent so he isn't going anywhere.

I'm more confused with the whole abduction thing then I am with Joe's "losing streak". There were a couple of dudes (not sure how many exactly) involved with that and my first thought was that they were Eric's croonies from earlier (Raven, Tomko, Homicide, Rhyno, and....Wolfe????). I don't know where they are going with that but I do agree with the rest of you in believing that the losing will lead to the "RETURN" of Samoa Joe. Deep down though my gut is telling me that Joe will eventually end up joining forces with AJ and Flair for a 4 Horsemen clone.

I too thought that the guys that took Joe tonight were the Nasty Boys. That sucks if it was, but what can we expect I guess. Hopefully Joe comes back after getting abducting and the hell beat out of him, madder than ever.

He will go after Easy E and the Nasty Boys will probably take most of Joe's poundings. Nastys will be good for putting Joe over for a couple of weeks until he finds someone legitimate to feud with.

I would like to see Joe work his way up the ladder. He can take out Jordan, Morley, all of the new veterans that have been brought in. After all, those guys definitely weren't brought in for long term. I wouldn't be surprised to see Joe and Nash side by side before it's all said and done either.

It should be interesting, but I guarantee that they are trying to push Joe to the next level behind the scenes.

it probably was the nasty boys and 3D that "kidnapped" him, BUT i don't think that it will be revealed who did it. was thinking that because of the short & stocky stature of the "kidnappers" they will say that it was either unknown assailants or that it was samoans that did it. but in the end yes i do see this either making him more like he was when he first arrived in TNA or a more focused bloodthirsty version of the nation of violence character he started during the M.E.M storyline

that's just my two cents on it

Well it looks like TNA loyal idiots will stop bitching they are finally going to give Joe a push. I think its going to the simple snap storyline but it would be cool if they would just change it up. The end of Impact should have went like this. Anderson should have baited Kurt Angle up the ramp like he did only to have Hall/Pac help Anderson jump Angle and drag him down to the ring for a beat down. Then have Nash/Young come save Angle. While Hogan watches on. A few weeks later Hogan should turn heel and join the band and Mr. Anderson. Explain the reason why Nash is no longer with him can be Hogan blaming Nash for all of WCW's failures (why not the WWE DVD did) Then we have a stable of Hogan,Hall,Anderson,Pac.

Hogan is the power guy like Eric was to the NWO in WcW. Anderson is the main star while Hall/Pac have few in ring matches but are mostly thier to help Anderson win or beat down people. Joe's kidnapping could have been more Hogan cronies trying to turn Joe against his loyal TNA fans. However Joe refushes to join the new group and stands up to the group much like Sting did to the NWO. Only thing is Eric has to turn face and realize he cannot make TNA another failure like WCW. Then we will get that power struggle of Hogan/Bishoff.

I dont think it will happen like that but it would be more interesting than were I see it going. Joe finally snapping. In any event I love TNA. Its the best product in my view, but moving to mondays nights is a mistake. For one i work Monday Nights and will only be able to watch it for 30 minutes before i go to work. Another thing is look at the stars they have at the top Aj,Joe,Abyss those are the three main guys that seem to be getting a push? All of them are extremely average guys who would be lucky to have a IC title run in WWE. They give average promos or stupid ones (Hogan/Abyss) they have just average looks.

Lets face it WWE is awful in my view, but I realize how many more people watch WWE than TNA and its not even close. The Impact Zone is basically the size of the front 3 rows of a WWE show. They are stuck not touring to major cities for one to much money and another reason is the veterans like not having to tour. If they liked it they would work the house shows..lol

I hope I am wrong but I am thinking TNA will stay in business but will get pounded in ratings every week making the product seem like a clear choice of 2nd rate. It will give Vince all the gloating power he needs. I do not see a roster raid or switching talent like in the old monday night wars because TNA has no money to steal guys away from WWE and I do not think Vince wants anyone from TNA not even its top guys. Could you honestly see AJ or Joe as a fit for WWE? Or Abyss?

The kidnapping angle is stupid, but I guess Joe gets a push. Maybe they can make me like him now.

I'm relatively new to TNA, and have been moderately impressed thus far, especially by AJ and Joe (I don't count Angle because of his WWE history, I know what he can do).

When watching Impact, I pretty much saw his loss to OJ coming. Between Joe's in-ring story telling, how he was upset or out of it from his loss to AJ, and what I've read on Bishoff being high on Jordan, the loss was pretty much a given. However, I thought that it would be the "losing streak" type angle which would eventually lead to a major win and a big push. The kidnapping angle took me by surprise.

Now, one of two things could happen.

1. As many have stated, this is a good thing and Joe returns as a more badass "reformed" version of Joe.

2. This falls flat on its face, in similar fashion to Kane's bag with Mysterio's mask in it. All hype and no payoff.

I like some other moves that TNA management has made thus far, and I hope not to be disappointed here.

I like that Joe is coming up short latley. America loves a "comeback" story and thats where I think that this angle is going. I really like seeing Joe a step off his game. We know he's a hard ass and can destroy people in the ring, but the fact that he's lost focus intriugues me and makes me want to pay attention to the character.

I'm not a fan of the outlandish backstage skits ie HHH breaking into Ortons house and Joe getting freaking kidnapped, BUT thats where this is going so I kinda have to deal with it.

I think it would be great it he got abducted by the Samoans and forced to refocus and regain the ability to harness his killer instinct.

My guess is that it's probably some rival that he's going to be put into a program with but I'm really not sure who is behind it.

I hope this becomes a major and good story line.Joe is one of my favorite TNA wrestler and yesterday when i seen him lose againts Jordan i was like WTF he lost. And like most of you have post i really want to see the old Joe back,I know that gimmick was kind of stupid but bring back his nation of violence gimmick pls....He really needs it now and it will go perfect with him now because his frustration of losing.

See its weird to me when I saw that kidnapping storyline because he did the whole comeback/Nation of Violence thing last yr and then the whole mainevent at AAO and im left thinking, How many times will he get a refresh. This is like 3 times in less than 18 months his character is getting a reboot of some sorts.

Taz should also be acting like he knows who took Joe as to give the storyline more mystique. I hate that Taz now acts like a distant distant associate of Joe.

P.S Him losing to Orlando Jordan...Simply WTF
