Samoa Joe Kidnapped?

Dark Match Jobber
A couple of months ago, we all witness a fan-favorite, Samoa Joe, get kidnapped and thrown into the back of a limo. Then, if I remember correctly, their was one or two vignettes shown with Joe tied up or something. After a few weeks of wondering what happened, Joe returned and began to oull a Steve Austin by kicking the crap out of anybody who stood in his way. FInally, there was one episode where Joe beat up two wrestlers after there match and picked up a microphone, as if he had something to say, and then dropped it in the ring and left. I was excited and intrigued to see what would happen with him and his kidnapper, but it seems as if the whole story just fell flat because there has been no continuation to it lately, and also, Joe has barely been on tv recently. This is a prime example of what TNA does bby just forgetting that they have a storyline going and eventually dropping it.

My question is, where did you see this going? Who do you think Joe's kidnapper was? Was it a good/bad angle? In your opinion.

the angle i think can't be rated because it was just a 5 sec or so event that happened and they dropped it. i think it could've been a good angle if they had someone with a mysterious personality (a Kevin Sullivan/Taker/Jake Roberts type).

the problem with this angle and others that TNA's dropped is, in my opinion, that they want an angle that makes everyone say "WOW!" (like Hogan's turn in 96 or Austin's 3:16 speech). if they don't get the people's attention much, then i think they say "forget it, find something new" without giving it a chance.

I assume this angle will be tied up soon with the new Abyss storyline as they both refer to "THEY" making them do things.

well dont count it out just yet, with what is happening with Abyss, they could keep it going and the people who Abyss is talking about could be the "kidnappers", and Samoa Joe, Abyss, Dreamer, Raven, and Richards could all be in on it, we know Hogan and Bischof dont have permanent jobs with TNA, so his could be a way to write them out and let TNA continue on peacefully...

I say lets just have Samoa Joe keep doing what he has been doing and just beating the shit out of people week after week. Then when the ECW stable is about to come have somebody at the top of the entrance in a hood or a mask and start shaking his head in approval. Then after that like during a X-division battle royal like half way through the match have the masked/hooded man appear at the entrance with samoa joe and have him tell joe to attack. He goes in and cleans house kicking everybodies ass. Muscle buster after muscle buster when everybody is laid out joe leaves. The week after that you have joe and the hooded/mask man in the ring, the hooded/mask man takes off his mask it we find out its Raven (Hell lets face it Raven is sick and twisted and he is just awesome on the mike). You have the pissed off X-division guys come on and start ganging up on Joe and Raven, then Abyss hits the sceen and helps Raven and Joe. then you have Tommy Dreamer, Stevie Richards, and Rhino hit the ring too and they lay out everybody and just stand in the middle of the ring and you cut to commercial. After we come back from commercial you have Raven back on the mike saying that he is sick and tired of being in a company that won't allow them to do anything and that They are decularing war on TNA and they won't stop until they have complete control.

I think it was sad that they didn't follow up on the kidnapping angle. That could have been a good angle. As for who I think could've been the kidnappers, I would guess a couple of Somoans only cause of Joe's heritage. Now as for Joe being part of the ECW faction, I'd have to say no. Granted he could be muscle, but I can't see Joe using wepons on a regular basis

I wish that were so,but sadly,I think we're gonna be stuck with Hogan and Bitchoff for a LONG time. :disappointed:

I remember Samoa Joe also mentioning a "THEY" in the one kidnapped video that they showed.I wouldn't be surprised if both Joe and Abyss join the ECW faction shortly. This might even lead to a faction war(Extreme faction,FOURtune,Hogan/Bischoff regime).

Hey Yo!

Now im not ruling out that Samoa Joe could end up with the ECW Faction i hope that does happen, because Samoa Joe will get lost in the shuffle.
But that is TNA's hugest problem horrible continuity they just expect us to forget about shit well im not ruling out what i said above. I still have hope for TNA.

Yes, TNA has been known to "mysteriously" (but not unpredictably) drop story lines mid-angle...but I don't think this one's over just yet.

You bring up a good point here, ECDub. That episode of Impact! when Joe teased the fans by grabbing the mic was pretty much the last we saw of this angle. Granted, that was MONTHS ago, but the reason I don't think the angle is over is because we've yet to hear from Joe at all...Joe hasn't picked up a microphone since that episode, has he?

Eventually, we'll have to get an interview with Joe. I'm actually surprised that Tenay or JB hasn't attempted to get a few words from Joe about the subject, so maybe the naysayers are correct...maybe TNA did, in fact, decide to drop the angle and hope that the fans simply forget about the kidnapping.

My theory is that we WILL indeed find out who kidnapped Joe eventually, but I don't think that Abyss' "they" are the same ones who kidnapped Joe. Only time will tell, I suppose.

I'm pretty sure this has something to do with the "they" Abyss and Sting have been mentioning - as well the random attacks backstage.

I don't think the storyline has been dropped at all. One thing to remember about TNA and their storylines is that Vince Russo's favourite tv show is "Lost" - a program that dragged mysteries along for ages before giving answers - sometimes not even giving answers. I think in Russo's mind he's writing wrestling's version of "Lost", dropping some clues in, throwing a few red herrings in too but mainly dragging things out.
