Where Does Cody Go Now?

We saw on Friday Night Smackdown both Cody and his Father, Dusty come out to talk to Rey Mysterio. Cody complained to Dusty that Rey was the man who broke his nose, so that he should be apologizing to him. Then Dusty turned it around, telling Cody that HE should be the man apologizing. In the end, Cody apologizes, but it turns out that it's all a set-up, with Cody eventually laying Rey out, smashing him into the "Mirror" that he checks himself out in during his entrance.
Cody wears a pretty dumb looking Hannibal Lecter style mask, which is to protect his Nose, they say. Following this beatdown on Mysterio, where does Rhodes go from now on? Is there a bigger feud broiling with Mysterio to come? I would say yes. But not for that long. With the mask thing that's happening, if Cody is using it as protection, what's there to stop there being a really dumb Mask vs Mask match, with Rey obviously coming out on top, forcing Cody to stop being a Lecter wannabe?
After that, I don't know what happens with Cody, that's the problem that's facing him right now. When the mask storyline is over, where does he go? Probably to the Intercontinental Title, that's where. It's too early to get him up to the World Title, that is for sure. But I think maybe, just maybe he earns the I.C Title, give him some credibility again.

Wherever he's going, Cody has solidified his spot on Smackdown. He's getting plenty of air time and is feuding with a former world champion. I don't think he'll be drafted to raw, but you never know. He's probably not in the world title scene any time soon, so going for the IC or having another upper midcard type feud is what he'll be doing.

Smackdown currently has The Corre, McIntyre, Del Rio, and Ziggler? as important heels on smackdown so I expect someone (probably Ziggler along with Vickie) moving to raw in the near future.

Cody's doing a good job and has the ability now to seem important wherever they put him on the show.
