What's next for Kane?

I'm starting to grow bored of Kane/Mysterio, but I could still see it riding out for another month. But then what is next for the big red monster, what'll happen to him, will he snap on someone else? Will he remain heel? Kane's heel turn has been based on Mysterio and simply that he wears masks. Once he's finished with him, what's stoping him from forming back to plain face Kane? What's WWE gonna get Kane to do next to keep the fans wondering and booing him?

Well, I got one idea on who Kane's next feud should be against. To keep Kane a heel they got to put him against someone the fans would cheer for no matter what and allow Kane to have some connection to the past. So... I see Kane's next feud to be with... Shawn Micheals.

Let's look at it, Kane first appeared and interfered at Micheals and Undertakers Hell in a Cell match, allowing Micheals to win and retain. Same thing happened at RoyalRumble at Micheals and Undertakers Casket match. Kane could begin reminding Shawn how he never thanked him. That he owes him. Telling him that he couldn't beat Undertaker without him. Not only would this lead to a series of ppv matches between Kane and Micheals, but could also lead Shawn into an already speculated feud/match with the Undertaker at WM in their home state Texas. Kane telling Shawn he couldn't beat Taker or himself. Kane and Micheals have some matches, each win some but with Micheals coming out on top and declaring himself ready to beat the Undertaker at WM, the one place nobody can beat the Undertaker, Shawn Micheals will try just that... Sidetracked slightly, back to Kane, the fans will continue to boo him in a feud with Micheals and Kane will be able to dig deeper into that weird crazy Kane that was back in 98/99. From there, Kane should be big enough again and could get into feuds with Cena/Batista. We know how Vince loves to build monster heels up to be bowled down by those two bulldozers. Questions? what is next for kane? ummm.... well good question. he cant feud with shawn michaels already has done that and i am not looking forward to that again. cant feud with batista because batista is already number 1 contender. he cant feud with Jbl or chris jericho unless he turns face which is not a good idea. But he could feud with john cena or cm punk. i think he should go for cena. I mean this could actually work out good for both of them. have kane beat cena twice and have cena beat him once. makes Kane look dominate and cena look like a Monster killer.

Well, we all know the Mysterio angle failed horrendously and is a likely candidate for WWE's worst feud of the year so far. Talk about dropping the ball, aye?

What's next...I really don't know. Kane's character has been utterly ruined now and I will probably never be able to take it seriously again after the cheesy promos and stupid, STUPID angle. Kane can work a good match and if given a good program can be very entertaining but it's seriously gotten old the way he jobs out in every one of them. He's supposed to be an unstoppable monster goddamnit!

I suppose he could feud with another face but I can't imagine what it would take to get Kane over as a heel again. He got cheered during the Rey feud. Unless it's a really good feud with a top guy like Michaels I doubt any program with a regular mid-carder can restore momentum for Kane. Dead horses can't be beat...

Kane will continue to feud with Rey until the end of the year imo. They will probably have another match at Cyber Sunday most likely an inferno match, which could possibly lead to Team Kane vs Team Rey at Survivor Series or something along those lines. As for where he goes after that is anyones guess. I hope he remains heel and feuds with Cena, HBK or CM Punk.

Creative need to stop putting spins on the current Kane storyline with Rey Mysterio and just stick to a plan. They have already had too many matches, creative should just have Kane attack and torture Rey the way he did with Shane McMahon in 03. Kane should definitely get the win in their final match as he is the only one who will benefit from a win, Mysterio will always be over.

His feud with HBK lasted all of one month. He could still have a good feud with Shawn Michaels while HBK is still there. He has never feuded with John Cena. That is a feud that I would like tos ee because its never been done and Cena would make Kane look legit. Kane has never officially feuded with Randy Orton. That is something that would be done if Orton ever turned face. Kane does work well often times with people you never would think he would work well with. Punk and Cena are the best options because they are fresh and would probablt revitalize the Kane character a little bit. Kane need a wrestler who is over really well and Cena could work. Kane could play the monster that stands in the way of Cena while he tries to get back and become champion. He could get revenge on Punk for being "clean" and "drug free" and Kane would want to wipe the smugness from his face. It would work.

I figure on a fans vote for some sort of No DQ match at Cyber Sunday (they could even repeat a Stretcher match from last year) and then wrap up with Team Mysterio vs Team Kane at Survivor Series.

Once Kane is out of that, there's a lot of fodder. It's a long way off to call, but there's several good opportunities. It's too bad Santino has that death grip on the IC title. Much love to Santino, and I really enjoy the Honk-A-Meter program, but unfortunately I think there's just too many singles wrestlers who need that title to feud over. Hopefully when that title gets freed up, Kane can go for it. Kane vs Punk over the IC title sounds great to me. That could last for months, considering you could have Kane or Punk win at Armageddon, have both of them in the Rumble match, and their first match doesn't even have to come until No Way Out. I think it would be a good way to put Punk over.

Kane vs HBK is not a bad idea and could last for a few months, but I don't know whether that's really a Wrestlemania match I'd want to see. Still, it would be a decent program.

Kane vs Orton is untapped potential, and considering Kane is still transition out of being a tweener, the option is there. These two could definitely put on a good show.

Kane in a tag team is a good idea; he's been proven a great tag wrestler. Only problem there is that I wonder whether the WWE wants to remove Edge's distinction as the most decorate tag team wrestler ever (12 titles). Kane, having 10, could only win once before he'd infringe on the record. One option is to just have Edge win another title. Or pair up Edge and Kane. Drawing from the currently available roster, however, I think Orton could make a good partner for Kane.

Kane vs Jericho and Kane vs Batista down the road are both options.

Kane really has only worked 1 program on Raw (Mysterio) and there's a ton of potential for him. Clearly everyone else is going to get involved in feuds, but out of the huge field open for him, there's got to be someone to work with.

I actually would enjoy that idea for Shawn Michaels. Great post! Bringing up their past, at least considering the angle with Mysterio, seems to be a very legit option and continue Kane's character delving into the past.

A lot of people think the storyline with Kane was a failure, but, I just don't see that. Now, granted, it wasn't what people thought it was going to be but that doesn't mean it's bad. It was unpredictable to be Rey's mask. Plus, they didn't even drop the mask angle involved. From the standpoint of Kane's character, the mask storyline makes perfect sense. Why do I enjoy the storyline? Because it's a STORYLINE based on a character. The only other storyline on Raw this year was Jericho and Michaels. Every other feud seems to be the generic, "I'm cocky, I don't like you, and I'm better than you" feud. The Kane character still lends itself to story telling, and the storyline here, it's a reason to feud! It's a lot better to see Kane feuding with Rey over a reason! What was the alternative? Rey bumps into Kane backstage and Kane snaps? Or a random match where Kane snaps and takes Rey out. I feel like TOO MANY feuds in WWE are started in such basic, repetitive ways. WWE went with a unique idea for Kane and Rey, why do people hate that?

I think this has been a very intresting storyline for one reason or another. It drew everyone in and then split fans with a marmite (You love it or hate it) swerve. One that I at frist thought was ridiculous! But after watching Kane's promo it makes perfect sense. He's jealous of Rey who has never been judged for wearing a mask where as he used to be. And when it was taken off he was treated like some freak and hated. He wants to do that to Rey. It brilliant psychology. AND I might add that I believe they work very very well together. They play off of each others strengths and have a great back and forth. I love the No Mercy match up, that reversal of the backward DDT was AMAZING! It worked so brilliantly because of both of the wrestlers; the ending was shite granted but I suppose it was merely one of the only options Creative had to continue the feud. But I understand the argument of why didn't Kane go for the mask when Rey was lying there and out cold. Hell Batista could have even run in and saved his buddy as Kane tried to rip of the mask, that would have been a simple fix to that issue.... nevermind.

As for the topic itself I believe Cena would be a great option. This hasn't been done before and would be brilliant and fresh but to continue down this story aspect of Kane and keeping it going with this whole returning to the past that haunts Kane Shawn Micheals would be a great option. But we still have the Rey feud to go so we'll see how that goes.

I think that the only reason people consider the Kane vs mysterio feud to be a failure is because it had so much potential which it didnt live up to. Also kanes heel turn didnt really work which makes the feud seem boring. I mean, when kane revealed that he had mysterios mask in his burlap sack he recieved more cheers than boos. he still gets cheered a lot.

The kane vs rey feud needs to end soon (survivor series at the latest). there are so many great potential feuds for kane. I would love Kane VS HBK. Kane VS Orton would be good if orton turns face. Even a feud over the WHC with someone would be good (if creative gave CM Punk a title run then i dont see a reason that they cant give Kane one). But i think the most likely (but the worst) option would be for Kane to become a jobber again like he was on SD!. I seriously doubt that he will have any good rivalries with any main event superstars, but then again, stranger things have happened.

Hopefully retirement. He's just not entertaining. And don't give me that "he's great for a big guy" line, sure he is, but he's still boring to watch. I personally find him even more annoying with his "evil laugh." Whenever Kane is on I will change the channel.

Now, I'm sure he'll stick around and his main role will likely be to put people over. Looking at kids in the crowd with Rey masks, it looks like they sell, so why have him lose if they would then lose those sales. --Not to mention that this already happened.-- Kane will likely put over Rey somehow, and if not, Rey will be saved by someone who will then feud with Kane.

Let's just face the facts. Kane is a shadow of his former self with creative to blame. A broken down shadow, desperate to keep afloat. Kane is awfully boring to me now as well. All this bottled up hype to push what seems like a sadistic, calculating monster to dominate for one minute and the next minute a glorified jobber to make the underminers appear competitive for beating a solid guy, that's just lacking believability in my eyes. It's ridiculous.

Kane has jobbed for a long time, making others go over him and the least in remuneration that the WWE can do is put a third-rate ECW Championship around his waist and tantalize him with WWE Championship Matches. If they used Kane better, Kane could have at least held a WWE primary belt three times. But instead, they engage Kane in what are mostly bought as pathetic-looking feuds and plus nowadays, give him a person twice less his size (love Rey Mysterio tho) to render him a weakling.

Honestly, Kane's feud with Mysterio could have launched a longer way if done the right way. Pulling out Rey Mysterio's mask out of the burlap sack was just a "what the hell" moment for me. What was creative thinking? Why not have taped vignettes of Mysterio unmasked, battered and bruised with people wondering what happened to him for weeks with suspicion in the locker room and then have Kane reveal the mask on RAW one week prior to the PPV before Adamle announces the match? Kane's proclamations that he remotely physically and spiritually destroyed Mysterio and Mysterio returns in replacement of Cena for the Championship Scramble untainted, in full 100% condition, nothing wrong with him at all. Christ! What a load. Mysterio then beats the crap out of Kane, Kane looks like a stiff fool. Then WWE has the nerve to put this match on PPV and waste people's money for a match they already viewed on RAW that didn't say "Encore". What a load again.

To answer the topic question precisely, what will be in line for Kane next is a valid question. Maybe CM Punk, they've been tag-along partners before, maybe turning that association into a feud is on the mind of creative. Quite frankly, what the HELL is CM Punk doing or what are they doing with him should I say? I see him lowering from World Champion to suddenly accompanying a mid-card superstar to the ring? HUH!? Just makes no sense. So I guess pitting these two together after the Mysterio/Kane mess could be set in motion.

The character Kane jumped the shark when they unmasked him. He was a great monster heel with the mask, he just seems like a goon now. I dont think there is ever going back to the heat he drew when he was the Big Red Monster, through Hellfire and Brimstone.

What's next for Kane? Retirement, I think. Maybe not right away but I can't see Glen Jacobs wrestling that much longer. Kane has just became as bad as Henry as useless jobbers to the stars. He is not "fresh" and no feud(except maybe Taker)will really get people caring about him again. While I say it's time for Glen to retire, he has did all he is going to do as Kane. But if he doesn't retire as see him being used as a jobber to the stars, a squasher, or him taking a long vacation until creative has something bigger planned for him. Right now this feud with Rey is pointless unless they are trying to get Bourne over than I'm all for it. That is what Kane should be used for, getting new stars over.

I think that Kane happens to be a much better jobber than Mark Henry. During 07, Kane helped put alot of people over. He lost numerous times to MVP(Granted, most were dq's, but it still helps), Batista, and even Finlay when he was a heel. He's also one of the guys who constantly helped establish Khali as a legitimate threat. Even when he was champion earlier this year, he still lost to guys Chavo, Morrison, and later dropped the title to Henry. Afterwards, he continued to put over the likes of Punk, Batista(Again!),
and Cena. Rey may not be getting much from this feud, but I blame that on Rey being stagnant as opposed to blaming Kane's ability as a jobber. In fact, I'd say Kane is one of the best jobbers the WWE has right now.

Simply put, Kane should, and will most likely, remain a jobber throughout the rest of his career. As long as he is fine with that, there is really no need to do anything else with him.

I don't know exactly what could be next for Kane. What I do know, is that the Kane/Mysterio storyline is getting old. I believe the whole Kane trying to get rid of Mysterio's mask is pretty much uncalled for mainly due to the fact that I'm pretty sure a lot of people who watch wrestling already know what Mysterio looks like without the mask. They have seen him without it when he used to have those horns on his head.

As for a new Kane angle, maybe he would do good against Undertaker once more. They had really good matches against each other. I wouldn't mind seeing them against each other once more. Possibly bring back Paul Bearer again? Granted they claimed to have killed him off.

It's a shame how much Kane's stock has dropped since his debut.He went from being WWE champion to now losing to Mysterio.And while he was ECW champion that belt is on the level of the I.C. and U.S. titles.It's a shame TNA was not up and coming a couple of years ago.I bet TNA would put the world title on a veteran like Jacobs in a minute.

I definately think the idea of Kane bringing up the past and how HBK would never have beaten the Undertaker without him, leading to a Kane/HBK feud and eventually HBK trying to prove he can beat Undertaker at wrestlemania 25 is a very very good idea. The Kane/HBK feud can also relate to the michaels/jericho feud. Jericho says he is a pure and honest man unlike all of the fans who are hypocrits and Kane preaches along the same lines saying that the fans hide behind masks. Maybe they could work together against Shawn Michaels. This would help elavate Kane and also add a new dimension to the Michales vs. Jericho feud. Eventually Kane could turn on Chris Jericho( much to the delight of the fans) become babyface again and then go on to feud with jericho in a series of bloody matches(this would happen after WrestleMania 25).

I am also starting to grow extremely bored of this stupid feud between Rey and Kane. Big guy vs little guy will never work. The feud has een messed up from the start, there were no decent matches booked and Kane unsurprsingly got jobbed.

I hope Kane stays heel but some how the writers make an angle up where he has to put his mask back on. I hope Kane does'nt end up a lower-card wrestler because as we all know he is alot more capable then that placing and rating.

Yes, the OP is correct in possibly builing up a feud between Kane and michaels simply because they have so much history helping one or the other out.

I personally would like Kane to move back to Smackdown to have a feud with The Undertaker because they have allways put on great matches in the past and their matches have allways ben booked properly. Who would think that Kane kicked out of 3 Undertaker tombstones and yet he can't even kick out of a stupid 619?

Whatever happens to Kane i hope he does'nt lose that "monster" side

There is a few problems with your predictions. You said send Kane to Smackdown, and have him team up with Big Show. Thats a good one. Then you said have Big Show form a stable with Mark Henry, and Khali. Well Big Show is on Smackdown, Khali is on raw, and Henry is on ECW. I don't think vince is stupid enough to move all that talent to one roster just to have a stable form. Each brand has a good amount of talent and sending all them to Smackdown would be very bad.

Jericho is stuck in a corner while the faces are advancing toward him. SUDDENLY THE LIGHTS GO OUT AND KANES OLD MUSIC HITS!!!! THE PYRO EXPLODES AND KANES WALKS TOWARD THE RING!!! Mysterio starts shitting himself while evan bourne and jeff hardy start attacking kane. kane eliminates evan bourne and jeff hardy while mysterio is frozen solid. KANE THEN GRABS MYSTERIOS NECK AND CHOKESLAMS HIM TO THE GROUND!!! Kane starts laughing at Mysterio when suddenly Jericho eliminates Kane and wins the Rumble.*

Wasn;t there an article here on wrestlezone saying that Mike Knox was going to be on Raw full time? That may be where kane goes from here is that he starts a feud with him. The only problem would be that would turn him back to being a face.

Another thought. Has Kane and Cena ever worked a program together yet? That way they get Cena over when he returns and show he is just as dominant as he was before and prep him before Cena goes for the title. and they have Kane lose which seems to be a common theme.

Well since its obvious Kane wont ever put the mask back on... how about the next thing for him is retirement? His character has been stagnant for God knows how long. RIGHT before he took off his mask he was actually becoming enjoyable with his promo's and teaming with RVD.
