What would the Cruiserweight division look like today?

honestly how can you justify the title now when Daniel Bryan is in the main event scene and he is 5'8 195 pounds

Lower and mid card championships has nothing to do with nostalgia and everything to do with building up superstars which wwe has neglected to do for quite some time now.

It adds a bit of relevance to the wrestler and starts to build a career and legacy. If these guys take their title reigns to new heights then the wwe can find a way to make them loose it and move up in the rankings. They are relying simply on story lines and matches to get guys over and are simply making it harder on themselves. They pulled it off with 2 hour shows back then now that raw is a full 3 hours you have more than enough time to pull off some new championship time. I know times have changed in the wwe but honestly I feel it hurts them more to not have these titles around than it benefits.
Instead of having dance offs and meaningless non relevant matches they could have title bouts.

I'm not referring to lower and mid card championships when I bring up nostalgia. I'm referring specifically to the Cruiserweight championship, a specific belt for a specific division.

You're right on one part. Sometimes the storylines without championship stakes are difficult to pull off. Part of NXT's current critical success is in it's a simplification of wrestling; just wrestlers trying to climb the ranks and win championships. However, this is absolutely no reason to add a new belt when these simplified feuds could take place for the IC or US titles. If creative finally decides to do something relevant with those mid card belts, then maybe they could consider reinstating an entire division for the sake of a championship.

For now, leave it in the championship graveyard with the European and Hardcore titles.

The Cruiserweight Championship Division would look as awful as it always did. Nothing more than some gymnasts performing rehearsed and choreographed sets. There were occasionally actually wrestlers, but it was mostly just spot after spot after spot, and none were actually that good.

Your totally right on the fact that those 2 belts have lost all relevancy...

Now-a-days they job the champ out cleanly and unexpectedly. Back in the 1980s, as well as the 90s(and arguably into the early 2000s), the Intercontinental Championship was the second most prestigious title in the World Wrestling Federation. It was a testament to your popularity with the fans and to see if you were ready to take it to the next level.

Many of the greats and Hall of Famers held this once coveted championship such as Randy "Macho Man" Savage, Ricky Steamboat, Ultimate Warrior, Rick Rude, "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig, Bret Hart, Roddy Piper, Shawn Michaels, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H, Chris Jericho, and countless others. Most of those men went onto become WWF champion, and the ones who didn't, at least left their mark for fans to remember.

These days, the IC championship(as well as the United States Championship) has no reflection on your popularity(or unpopularity if you're a heel), and is just given to whoever management wants to push for the time being, only to leave them in midcard(or even lower midcard/JTTS) hell.

There are countless examples of shitting on this titles history... Like when Curtis Axel, who doesn't even have 5% of his father's charisma, lost to half-over(thanks to faulty booking) midcarder Dolph Ziggler, cleanly, with no mention that the champion was pinned, thus, not being in line for a future title shot.

This wasn't the first time the son of the Hall of Famer lost cleanly. A few weeks ago, he lost to R-Truth cleanly. The most frustrating part about it is in the rare times when he defends the championship, he WINS the match, thus retaining the title.

Forcing a guy down our throats in hopes he gets over is one thing, putting a once major championship on him, and not even investing in him is just a whole nother realm of unacceptability.

Is there any reason why they keep the IC title around if they aren't going to use it efficientally? This is one of my biggest problems with the WWE that I feel needs to be fixed ASAP, if not, just scrap the championship(or combine it with the US championship, which they should've done a long time ago anyway)?

So yeah, I hands down agree with you there...
