What would happen if Punk failed the wellness program?

If Punk failed a test, shock would ensue but I think he would be able to overcome it with time. BTW there is a such thing as caffeine addiction so it's not like he's completely straight edge anyway. I mean, not smoking or drinking or taking pain pills is obviously great for the body and I would never NOT call him straight edge. But the fact is that high fructose corn syrup over time WILL in fact cause your body major harm.. just like cigarettes. My point is that CM Punk willingly ingests something that shaves years off of his life. But I digress, anything short of murdering someone or straight up rape or molestation is able to be recovered from and I think Punk would be forgiven.. eventually. He wouldn't be fired but definitely suspended.

As far as professionally, He'd return from suspension to a huge pop and it would be business as usual until the heel turn. A straight edge man who failed a drug test would most likely be a heel at some point.

I know this is hypothetical maybe moreso to if it was something illegal, but he IS Straightedge and dumbasses who think he'd be in the dog house are wrong. He could fail now being straightedge, doesnt mean he cant take over the counter drugs for health purposes. I know he doesnt take pain killers, but what if he had his drink spiked or had a prescription that sounded the alarm as if you had a bag and were leaving the store and the alarm goes off yet you stole nothing. It'd be like that, a small thing where he wasnt like some guys who are doing hardcore shit

I'm sure Punk is one of those guys WWE doesn't test but if he did I'm sure he'd get the same as everyone else just a bit more hush hush. I'm the locker room would give him hell. I'm sure he'd spend a year jobbing to the main event and maybe have a come back. Who knows right?

Well, no. Let's not confuse kayfabe with reality. As a WWE performer, Punk would be entitled to the same number of chances as everyone else. True, failing the test would blow his on-air character out of the water, given that his whole persona revolves around being straight edge. The program with Chris Jericho that was interrupted points out that Punk's entire act is dependent on his being "clean." Plainly, that program isn't going to end with Punk being proven a hopeless alcoholic, now is it?

In real life, Phil Brooks could have already flunked drug tests, for all we know. I believe there are just a few performers who either have their test results buried.....or aren't tested at all because their presence is so vital that the company can't afford to lose them. Obviously, John Cena is one. They simply can't chance losing him to something as "trivial" as a failed drug test. (At the same time, he's probably smart enough to not do drugs, knowing that a failed test could toss him off the gravy train).

Then, how about Mark Calaway? Can you imagine WWE testing him? Can you imagine them firing him if he failed three times? I sure can't.

You might counter this by tossing Randy Orton at me. Certainly, it seems he's one of the performers the company can't spare. Yet, don't you have the notion in recent months that the company might be looking for a way to get rid of Randy? Or, at least to make him fall in line by suspending him down to his last warning? I had believed him to be unexpendable; now, I'm not so sure.

Amidst all these questions, there's C.M. Punk. I think he's almost in the class of Cena and Undertaker as guys WWE can't afford to lose...... and if the behavior of their employees is something WWE can't control, they can at least cover up failed drug tests.

It may have already happened with Punk......who really knows? No, I'm not saying I have inside knowledge that he's flunked a test; I'm saying we would probably never know if he did.

To paraphrase the book "Animal Farm": All wrestlers are equal......but some wrestlers are more equal than others.

‎Mustang Sally, when you said, "Could you imagine them trying to test Mark Calaway?" I made the funniest face as I tried to picture what unlucky person would be stuck with holding a cup beneath the shlong of the nearly seven-foot biker who's scary enough to wear guyliner and not give a fuck.

(I'm sure that's not actually how piss tests are conducted, but I was being creative.)

Anyway, I agree with your stance. If I could add just a speck, Punk's more a wrestler than some straightedge dude. It's part of his lifestyle, but wrestling is his life.

If Punk failed the wellness policy, I would predict one of these two things to happen.

1- Punk's image is immediantely destroyed. He loses all respect and his fans turn on him. If they let him back on TV, he would return to the WWE as a jobber and would be future endeavored shortly after.

2- The WWE hides the fact that he failed the policy, and instead fake an injury. The world will not ever know he failed, basically.

What i think will happen
As lots of people said they would suspend him and play it of as an injury.
What i want to happen
They tell everyone about the failed drug test and when he returns have him return as CM drunk. Then have him team with stone cold and call them the 'Beer Belly Bros'
