What was the point?

Blizz

Dark Match Winner
What was the point of the draft? I thought WWE may start to actually divide the talent on each brand by having them wrestle on THEIR OWN BRAND.
I don't understand what the point of the draft was if, less than a week later, Batista vs Ted jr is on Smackdown. I don't get it. Why use three hours to move talent if they are going to wrestle on another brand? The tag team division is a different story, as there are few teams and they should defend the belts against talent from other brands, at least until they get a real tag division going. Why continue a raw storyline on Smackdown? I actually got excited for the draft because I believed they were going to make an effort to divide the talent. Maybe there just doing this until post- backlash so they can finish the storylines and get some new ones started.

Am I the only one pissed off by this?

Hey, maybe they'll get this shit right starting next week. But then again... I hope they inforce the split atleast for a couple of months!

:headscratch: Looks like the majority of tonights smackdown is dealing with Raw storylines and wrestlers. Wtf? Seriously, a few days after the draft they have 3 matches with Raw wrestlers on Smackdown. I don't get it.

I know Blizz just said the same thing, but I needed to say something about Smackdown tonight. This thread has the perfect header name, because the WWE confuses the hell out of me sometimes. We just got through the draft, and Smackdown has a very talented roster, but you wouldn't know it, cause it's like I was watching Monday Night RAW. Granted, I think the WWE was maybe doing a "last night on Smackdown" night with some old SD talent, but it's pretty ridiculous. The point of the draft was to get fresh faces on new shows, and the only new people I saw on SD was John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler. And the main event was between TWO RAW GUYS?

I was disappointed with the show as a whole, but hopefully next week will show the reason they did the draft in the first place and show us why the draft had a point to begin with.

I agree, I don't see a point to the draft either, but I still like the fact that superstars are wrestling on different brands. That way, they can wrestle on different shows and not just the same show every week. But, I do think the draft was a waste then.
