What was the master plan?

I apologize if this has been discussed, but when The Nexus debuted Barrett constantly talked of the "master plan". I was really getting into the whole thing, thinking this was a story line that could really pan out and give us the first credible faction since Evolution. I kept waiting and waiting, tuning into Raw each week with more anticipation. Then it seems like the writers just lost where to go with the storyline - hence Cena getting his job back and Barrett was no longer being the leader of Nexus.

Anyways, I guess my point is that I expected the "master plan" to be some kind of major heel turn or return by someone to be a co-leader of Nexus or something - almost a Hogan taking over the nWo type thing.

So did I miss the point of the "master plan"? Or is it just another "Who dropped the Titontron on Vince" storyline?

I didn't get much out of it either. I think this is just a case of the WWE planning a storyline and then thinking later that it was not as good as they first thought. It happens all the time, abandoning storylines that they don't think will end up working.

Just My Opinion.

I think it could have been a big surprise... however what if...

what if, the Anon GM is non-other than Triple H... he hired the Nexus,

1. he got them first to take out Vince McMahon - Trips now takes over the WWE.

2. Then he uses the Nexus to go after Bret Hart- we all know the history between Hart and Michaels and Trips. HHH hates Hart and wants him out of WWE.

3. Nexus goes after Cena - Cena defeated Trips on his return to the Royal Rumble and defeated him at Wrestelamania, they have history.

4. Nexus buries Undertaker alive, the man who retired his best friend Shawn Michaels

5. Punk who is not in on Trips' plans takes over Nexus, Otunga who has been trying to out the 'master plan' is the only one to join New Nexus

6. Without Nexus under his control anymore the Undertaker returns and immediatley Triple H shows up and has to end the Deadman himself (if you want something done right, do it yourself)

7. Triple H wants to be the "last outlaw", if he succeeds he takes control of the entire WWE. The Streak is now contested under no dq rules, will Trips reactivate Barrett and ned the streak, therefore ending the Undertaker, and therefore ruling pro-wrestling?????

8. The Master Plan is Triple H turns heel and becomes the new Chairmen of the board with no one to stop him.

Now this is all me playing connect the dots haha, and Nexus never went after Sheamus (the man who put Trips on the shelf) which is a flaw in my fictional theory...

... but that might be cool!

they brought up their master plan to Kane, I think it was this week, It may still be going on.

This one giant flaw in your plan and that is that Vince McMahon has already returned and is still very much in control.Plus Triple H beat the snot out of Sheamus on Raw and right after the Gm chimmed in saying Sheamus had a match it is right now, so HHH would have to be pretty quick on his feet to pull it off. It is true the Triple H as anonymous GM was kicked around but I doubt this will pan out. I believe eventually McMahon will be revealed as the anonymous Gm. Don't rule out a McMahon Vs The Rock match if you recall the Gm did say he will take care of the Rock in his own time. The Nexus bigger picture story line is basically dead as it appears Nexus is being eliminated from the WWE, which is good because Cm Punk does not need them.

I really like this idea and I have been disappointed this story was dropped. Only problem i see with your idea is WWEs PG audience is mainly young kids and I think a story like this may be to far over their heads.

I don't think there ever was a master plan and if there was then it was probably carelessly scrapped by the creative team. They have been doing a lot of just randomly dropping ideas and this could have been one of them. Just look at when Nexus buried Taker, that went nowhere at all.

Yeah, I thought it was a great opportunity to elevate young, new, fresh talent and to get us back to that traditional feeling of wrestling - when there is a heel that is so hated by the fans and who is also dominate in the ring as well.

I also thought Trips was going to wind up being the leader of Nexus - and it would have been a pretty awesome way to bring him back imo.

I guess I'm just really disappointed because it was the first storyline in years that really had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen - and it never really panned out in my eyes.

I think the master plan all along was for Cena to turn heel and be revealed as the actual leader of Nexus. When those plans were scrapped, so was the "master plan." Vince is so desperate to keep Cena as the "great hero" as he did with Hogan, Austin, and Rock even though Cena gets a lot of boos everywhere he goes. They could ultimately revive this storyline if and when Cena turns heel and I think that turn is inevitable. It has to be. Cena's character needs a big overhaul and a heel turn could definitely do that for him. How can it be revived? Well, apparently Barrett and The Corre went to Kane on SmackDown and talked about this master plan or "bigger picture" again. What if Cena got drafted to SmackDown after WrestleMania (whether he wins the title or not and remember he did switch brands as a champion several years ago) and there was a lot of talk about this "master plan" and it's ultimately revealed at SummerSlam that Cena is indeed the real leader of Barrett's group and has actually been coaching Barrett this whole time. Might be interesting.

The master plan could have gone many ways, it could have been making sure Barrett won the WHC. Or taking out a top star like Cena, Orton, or Undertaker. Obviously that was dropped when Barrett and the other two went Smackdown and formed the Corre. Now the new Nexus are being taken out one by one by Orton. I doubt the new Nexus will last past Wrestlemania. So I seriously doubt the master plan will ever be revealed.

yeah the wwe creative must have abandoned this storyline..
i still remember otunga threatening barrett by sayin "i'll tell everybody why we really buried the undertaker".
my question is why did nexus bury the undertaker???
does the raw GM have anything 2 do wit this??
how come undertaker suddenly forgets about nexus and kane and turns his attention to HHH???
its dumb how the storyline progressed... if barrett and kane had a master plan why did kane suddenly turn face and have a match vs barrett and slater???
