What if Edge never had to retire?

A REAL American
Three years ago at Wrestlemania 27 in Atlanta, GA we saw Edge wrestle in his last match ever defending the WWE World Heavyweight Champion against Alberto Del Rio. The next night on RAW Edge dropped a bombshell on the WWE fans when he announced that he was retiring from wrestling as the WHC. Edge has been dealing with a neck injury for years now. And had to retire from the ring forever and vacate the World Heavyweight Championship on Smackdown. Now if Edge never had that problem with his neck and didn't have to retire from wrestling. Where would Edge be now career wise?

After Edge's retirement he helped his lifelong BFF Christian win the vacant World Heavyweight Championship in a ladder match against Alberto Del Rio at the Extreme Rules pay per-view. It was a good thing to see Christian win a world title while in the WWE because it was something that you'd never thought you'll ever see! Like when Jeff Hardy first won a/the world title while in the WWE. But Christian lost it to Randy Orton the same week on Smackdown. But if Edge didn't retire it would have been him in that ladder match against ADR defending the WHC at the Extreme Rules PPV. If Edge would have won that match at Extreme Rules. It might have been Edge and Christian feuding against each other for the WHC on the Smackdown brand.

Christian had turned heel on Randy Orton with his burning desire to be the world champion again. Now would or could he be able to do the same thing to Edge? If so their feud wouldn't have ended until that years Summerslam in most likely the infamous TLC match for the WHC. A match in which both Edge & Christian helped pioneer. But in your own opinion. What if Edge never had to retire?

If Edge never had to retire I doubt that he would of won his match at Wrestlemania 27, I'm certain that WWE would give Del Rio the belt had Edge not had to retire. This obviously means that a Del Rio/Edge feud would carry on for a few PPV's maybe the big pay off at Summerslam. Now, Edge was THE guy on Smackdown I don't think anyone would argue with that, so that also brings another thought into the mix, would Randy Orton have moved to Smackdown in the draft? I don't think so since Edge was going to be the face of that brand. So we wouldn't of seen any of those matches i.e Orton/Christian Orton/Henry. I

And I believe that Edge was going to retire soon anyway, I think he said that he would retire if WrestleMania would be in Toronto.

Edge had absolutely no idea he was retiring after WM27 until he went to the doctors later that week, the plan was always to have Edge beat Del Rio at WrestleMania. Del Rio was the first opponent planned for what was supposed to be Edge's longest title reign. Edge's forced retirement caused massive changes to their plans. Edge has said in interviews he had originally planned to call it quits around WrestleMania 31 or 32.

he lost the belt at wm27 and win the title at mitb. Christian 2 reigns and randy 2 reigns wont happened. May be they fued with christian and christian got 1 reigns. Mark henry and big show angle wont happened. He fued with daniel bryan.

The main thing is he definitely be the highest title reigns than john cena. Bcoz cena didnt have so much title reigns in 2011 and 2012.

I could have easily imagined edge right now as a killer heel, possibly even the face of the WWE.
Edge was one of the greatest in ring and out of ring performers in this last generation, it would not be hard to imagine him still at the top of the wwe, it was one of the saddest nights if my WWE life when he retired.
I would have liked him to either have a backstage or commentary role at the moment instead of being on Haven, like seriously WTF

If Edge had not been forced to retire then sadly I would have to say it is quite unlikely that Christian's World Heavyweight Championship push in summer of 2011 would not have taken place. Edge would have retained against Alberto Del Rio, then moved on to Randy Orton. In Christian's place Edge would have been in the Randy Orton feud over the World Heavyweight Championship. That would have been a great feud to see as well given their history as the Rated RKO team. However, we would have missed out on a feud of the year candidate and Christian's much deserved world title reign.

An Edge VS Christian feud would eventually have been likely too. Oh well. As for after that? The Ultimate Opportunist was rarely far away from the world title. Given how several short reigns fit in with his opportunistic character, he might have as many world titles as Cena now if he had been able to stick around. We will never know, but that's my prediction. He got to end his career on a good note retaining his World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania and his best friend inherited (very likely) his push, at least for a brief moment.

He'd be a 14 time World Champion.
He and Punk would've had a meaningful feud eventually.
Smackdown's ratings would be even better.
He wouldn't be in the hall of fame.
He wouldn't have cut his hair.
He wouldn't be on Haven.

Edge was the best thing to happen during the past era in my opinion.

Edge possibly could of beaten Ric Flair's title record, and maybe can be called the best of all time. He made such a legacy and name for himself in WWE, he was the best thing to happen to WWE in the past decade.
