What Gimmick Would Not Fit Today's Society

The Boogeyman lol that guy was just sick.

The ministry of darkness. One of my favorite undertaker heel gimmicks. It wouldn't fit in pg because of the crucifixion gimmicks with stephanie and Austin.

Original DX with Shawn, HHH, Chyna, Rick Rude neither would the HHH, Chyna, X-Pac, New Age Outlaws version of DX.

Mankind/Cactus Jack/Dude Love- these guys were nuts.

There are alot more but I can't remember them lol.

The whole anti-American gimmick seems to be done & outdated in this day and age especially when WWE is bringing in alot more international superstars as company faces. We really haven't seen much in terms of that since the days of La Resistance, Hussan & The Un-Americans. Which is actually good to see because I believe such gimmicks only went so far, now you have guys like Sheamus who are from another country but have their own persona whether they are a heel or face.

Naked Mideon. Does this really need an explanation?

To fill those in who might have missed seeing the gimmick in action, Mideon came out to the ring wearing a thong, boots, and a fanny pack. I'm not quite sure that would fit in the PG era.

I remember and do my utmost to forget naked Mideon.

Yet another thing from the Attitude Era that I could not see happening in WWE today would be the intergender violence. Occasionally men and women fought each other in the ring. Not mere slaps or pushes or bumping into each other by mistake, but actually hit each other.

One example would be the Dudley Boyz and how Bubba would powerbomb women including Trish Stratus, Lita, others into tables. Another would be the violence inflicted upon Chyna in her rivalries with Chris Jericho and Jeff Jarrett, including one time when Jericho used a hammer to break the hand of a tied up Chyna.

These days I believe WWE and to an extent TNA are more sensitive to violence inflicted by men on women.

Exactly, today's audiences demand a little more of the heels than just "USA, haaawk tooey!" You can't play that lame corny shit straight up anymore. Audiences would laugh you right out of the building.

The Godfather he was a fucking pimp for gods sake. Most of the Divas since the start of the attitude era, Val Venis. Mae Young's hand. I don't think even stone cold would be able to get over nowadays

Portraying Africans or Samoans as uneducated savages. Not so much because it's not politically correct but because nowadays even the little kids who still think it's real can go on the internet and find out out that wherever this supposed savage comes from is nothing at all like the talking heads on RAW and Smackdown would have you believe.

The savage gimmick can still work. Have you already forgotten about Umaga? That wasn't THAT long ago.

As for the question, you can pretty much throw every gimmick from the Attitude Era into the "shit that would never fly today" category. Pimps, porn stars, "naked" guys, and sexual chocolates aren't exactly PG. And from a social perspective, there are a lot of things you can't get away with nowadays, since everyone is a politically correct pussy, the aforementioned Virgil being a prime example.

The Rowdy Piper incedent when he painted himself half black and came to the ring and wrestled a match against Bad News Brown. That my friends I bet my life will never happend again.
