What does CM Punk do after he loses the WWE Championship?

For some reason I can still see Punk's status in the WWE being temperamental. I know this sounds ridicules as he has been champ for over 400 days but I don't think he is at the same level as a Cena or Orton a few years ago. Also, I don't see him staying around for another 10 years. He will leave when he is just past his peak. There is no chance he is going to be a flair or Hogan still around when he is a pensioner.

That being said, I can see him having big-name feuds while he is still here. I'm talking, The Rock, Cena, Orton and, perhaps next year, The Undertaker. I can promise you The Rock will not be in the WWE never mind champ post-May, June at the latest. That means Punk will get the belt back or at least feud for it.

There have been a ton of good answers in here.

I fall back on one thing ... I trust CM Punk implicitly.

He has taken on so many characters and done so well with them that I have full faith he will come up with something that works and will still be able to stay right near or at the top of the card for years to come.

This guy is malleable beyond belief and it is one reason he has had such a spectacular run here where half was a face and half was a heel. Really quite extraordinary when you think about it.

He will always be able to go face again ... he will always be able to use straight edge to be face or heel. He will always be able to get the crowd eating out of his hand ... and that is why I don't stress at all where he will be without the WWE Championship he is bound to lose to The Rock in 10 days.

I agree with mosly everything you guys have been saying, minus what is he going to do after retirement. I think he will stay backstage and either help run the show or help train the next generation of superstars. He loves the business and if Vince gave him a chance I think he would happily stay behind the scenes even after he hung up his boots.

Just because Rock is main eventing doesn't mean it's for the title, it wasn't last year.

Punk will do the same thing every heel does, he'll bitch and act like he was screwed and claim he is still the best. This isn't rocket science.

I think, after finally losing the WWE Championship, CM Punk should lead the “Revolution” against these returning Legends. In order to keep the focus on the WWE Title, the World Title, the Future Stars and the Undertaker match, I say make the WrestleMania Main Event a 4 – on – 4 Tag Team match.

The Rock, Triple H, Undertaker and Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena, Randy Orton, CM Punk and Sheamus.

Let’s see the how many storylines are in this one match.

Undertaker’s WM Streak is on the line in a new match type. This time he has to depend on 3 others to keep the streak alive.

Will Paul Heyman side with Brock Lesnar or CM Punk??

Can the Legends of WWE’s past work together, considering the history the Legends have had with each other??
Rock vs. Triple H.
Rock vs. Undertaker.
Rock vs. Brock Lesnar.
Triple H vs. Undertaker.
Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar.
Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar.

Can the SuperStars of WWE’s present work together, considering the history the SuperStars have had with each other??
John Cena vs. Randy Orton.
John Cena vs. CM Punk.
John Cena vs. Sheamus.
Randy Orton vs. CM Punk.
Randy Orton vs. Sheamus.
CM Punk vs. Sheamus.

This frees up the World Titles if, let’s say, Dolph Ziggler vs. Alberto Del Rio for the World Title is scheduled.

For the WWE Title, I’d have CM Punk (or the Rock), drop it in the Elimination Chamber against Ryback, who should last eliminate Big E. Langston, setting up their Mania Main Event.

If it up to you, I would have the TV off in a minute...

BTW wtf are you going to do with the other 3 hours of programming when you use your top 10 wrestlers, and the next 2 who suck but are over in 3 matches. Talk about a snooze fest

Damn everyone saying the rock will win huh? What if Brock Lesnar interferes to set up a Brock Lesnar Vs The Rock at Wrestlmania. Then Undertaker is the 30th man in the rumble and wins to set up CM punk vs the Undertaker at Wrestlemania, Streak vs Title?

Or this senario.... John Cena wins the royal rumble...Ziggler Cashes in the rumble to win the WHC. Then John Cena wins at the Elimination chamber to become the new WHC. So that sets up a Title unification match at wrestlemania between Cm punk vs John Cena.

There is a plethora of things CM Punk can do when he loses the WWE title.

For one, he will initiate his rematch clause. That will be a lock. He will have a rematch against whoever takes the title from him.

Its again entirely dependant on how he is booked. There are plently of guys that would make good feuds for him. The like's of Ziggler, Miz, and Del Rio to name a few. I know that he has already done the Del Rio feud but both men are in the opposite situation.

Hell, I wouldn't mind seeing a CM Punk/Christian feud. Both guys could wrestle the house down given the chance.

But I think the one people are banking on is CM Punk vs Brock Lesnar.

That right there, thats money. There isn't a lot that they could do to mess that up...or could they?

Why does everyone think that CM Punk is going to lose the WWE title. Do you guys really think it will be that easy. CM Punk is the one who has carried the company on his back and defeated a lot of top dogs in this business. 2012 was CM Punk's best year and he has been champion for over 400 days. Do you really think that the Rock is going to take all that away from punk just to build towards Cena vs Rock II? I don't think so.

Punk's title reign is too precious right now, its being told to us every day how long his title reign has been. If the Rock were to defeat punk now that would be a waste of all that buildup. I think Vince has bigger plans than the Rock to defeat Punk. I'm betting that Punk retains and maybe goes on to Cena vs Rock vs Punk. Or Punk vs Taker. Who knows? If Punk loses now to the Rock the man whom he has repeatedly said doesn't deserve this opportunity that would be a slap in his face. I'm hoping that after the Rumble the REAL buildup with Punk begins. Bigger and better plans are in store for Punk. This just seems to easy for the Rock to win. And we all know that Vince loves to swerve the fans.

After Punk's 2012 reign and his success in feuds beforehand, this guy has the pick of the litter. I mean, what can't Punk do? As a heel, he can create serious interest for just about any match type that he's involved in. I'm a firm believer that Punk can even make guys like JTG or Yoshi Tatsu, if given the chance. His mic work is so incredible that he can generate interest in just about anything.

The possibilities for Punk, post-WWE champion, are endless. Just hand him a microphone and give him an opponent... he'll push them, to the moon.

I would love to think Punk is retaining, but I just don't see it. WWE has Rock for the majority of the time leading up to Mania, and I see them taking full advantage of it by putting the belt on him.

What would make the most sense though is for Lesnar to cost Rock the match at the Rumble and for those 2 to square off at Mania. Then for Taker to return at Elimination Chamber or the night after to challenge Punk streak vs streak.

As far as what's next for Punk after he drops the title, whenever that might be...I see Heyman turning on him sometime shortly after Lesnar returns. Lesnar needs a mouthpiece and Punk doesn't. Instead of Punk and Lesnar being a combined force, take advantage of the few appearances you have Lesnar for (assuming he does sign another 1 year deal) and put them in a match at the June PPV in Chicago. This is the most effective way to turn him face again, which is inveitable because so many fans like him despite the fact that he's the biggest heel.

After that, maybe feuds with Barrett, a heel Orton, Cesaro, or The Shield.

I can see Punk keeping his title at the Rumble with help from the Sheild, he goes onto defend his title in the Elimination Chamber only to be pinned "clean" by The Undertaker, with Rock eventually winning the WWE title...thus setting Punk up trying to end the Taker streak and Cena v Rock II @ Mania for WWE title. Once Mania is over I can see Punk winge and moan for a while before telling the WWE Universe he has had it and takes a well deserved rest. Upon his return around SummerSlam I can see him having a couple of minor fueds against mid-card faces (doing harm to them), starting to trash talk Austin late 2013 and doing some harm to good old JR after he has a go at Punk for what he has done to the up and coming face talent (Last Raw of 2013). Austin comes to the first Raw of 2014 to settle the score with Punk; with Punk telling Austin anything between them will be on his terms thus leading to their main event match @ WMania 30.

He will start doing drugs.

I troll I troll.

Nah, I think he will lose the title at either the Royal Rumble of EC, and either feud with Taker leading up to WM, where he would obviously lose, or continue his feud with Rocky leading up to a match between Punk/Rock/Cena.

After Wrestlemania though it's a grey area. He either teams with/feuds with Brock Lesnar or lead the Shield in a fight against "injustice". That "injustice" being him getting "screwed" out of his WWE Championship.

Would be a strange situation when he hands the title down butI think he is too valued to be hanging around mid card on Superstars.
