What does Big E's move accomplish?

Here's a video of Langston performing the "Big Ending" on a jobber in NXT. Click this for the link.

The move is a lot like the RKO or the Diamond Cutter, except Langston grabs the guy by the waist rather than the neck. If you can believe that the RKO sends a jolt to the neck/chin area on impact, then the Big Ending would most likely jar the opponent's abdomen. You could assume as a fan, that Langston's opponent experiences a sharp impact to the gut that could knock his wind out, added to the force of being dropped with velocity onto your entire front side. It's just as goofy as the Stone Cold Stunner, but this is wrestling and wrestling is sometimes goofy but always awesome.

What NorCal said. But if the ones that complain still don't get it then maybe they should find themselves a powerlifter and take the move from them. See for themselves what it accomplishes.

I think the problem here is, you can see the lifting arm cushion the fall. And since there is an arm below, if the guy whose hoisted, doesn't smack his face on the mat...ye isn't as effective.

I would love it if he did the Running Powerslam. That would be COOL shit!

How can you call that a bad finisher/one that doesn't look like it would hurt? The dude is big, tall, and has huge arms. He picks you up, jumps, and hauls you down with all his strength + gravity. Then, upon impact, his shoulder/gigantic upper arm goes up under your rib cage with tremendous force.

It may not look fancy, but it could easily break some ribs. Or, at least, make you throw up all over the place.

If a guy lands a move on another guy and that doesn't kick out or sells it like its devastating, whether it a Chokeslam or a guy lighting a fart, I'll just take it on faith that its a decent finishing move that targets the opponents ability kick out of pinfalls in wrestling matches.

-EDIT- Just watched it, not bad actually.

The point that there are MANY bs moves in wrestling is a fact, but I personally don't get hung up too much on the real life application of the moves anymore. I give credit to the complexity and athletic requirements of moves, especially finishers. Sometimes trading technical value for impact works. The Jackknife power-bomb was brutal because of the sheer impact. That being said, long gone are the days of a boot to the stomach from Bruno being super-powered enough to blast an opponent out of the ring. Big E's finisher could hurt, or stun an opponent. He's strong enough to create intense velocity, but on a 1-10 scale I'd give it a 6. The question isn't would it cause damage as much as would it be devastating enough to "finish" another wrestler?
