What a match!! - WZ Hype Thread

Hard Hit Prince

Not really working as a
Hey guys! This thread is pretty much for recommendations of great, compelling wrestling matches that you watched recently. I don't know if people will care for this thread but I think that since we have those supporters of Puroresu, supporters of Indy wrestling, TNA, WWE (past and present), etc we could make this thread very successful.

One thing I would like you to do is give some background to the match, or at least tell basically why did you like that match. Hell, you can pretty much say: "I love this match... Tanahashi is in here, so that's it."

Example: NXT Womens Championship: Emma vs Paige
What a great bout, fast-paced and it showed how great the developmental divas are. The crowd was really into it, hope you can check it out soon! I'll try upload it and post it here!

I have been toying off and on with making a version of this thread for some time now. I'll provide STARZ on matches I watch here. I'm trying to catch up on this year in puro so I'll probably have some ratings from the Dome show to come soon.

Austin - Angle at either Summerslam and/or Unforgiven 2001, because they are shit-hot.

I may add their 3-way with RVD at No Mercy 2001 to that list later, but I'm on Jericho - Rock. Jeff Hardy - RVD at Summerslam 2001 was nice too.

Mitsuharu Misawa vs Kenta Kobashi 3/1/03 NOAH. I decided to watch this match yesterday since I hadn't watched it for a good year or so. I loved it just as much as I did the first time watching it. It just feels like a huge match with a lot of suspense and action.

Samoa Joe and Austin Aries from Slammiversary, it kind of defined the current era of TNA. Hogan was out right before the match in front of one of TNAs biggest crowds yet, everyone is jacked up.

Hogan announces the first match would be for the X Divison Title... Aries and Joe enter to loud ovations. They proceed to define TNA Wrestling... fast paced action, back and forth, countering moves, trading forearms and elbows, truly having a fast paced back and forth action match. Won't see that kind of action in front of a crowd like that, anywhere else.

After rewatching it I can say it also features probably the best suicide dive in pro wrestling history. And I love the ending combination by Austin Aries... a constant back and forth match, til the end... Joe lands on his head/neck... Austin Aries proceeds to follow up with several different strikes to head essentially rocking Joe... Aries flies into the corner with another strike to the head, Joe stumbles up... Aries gets him up... AHHHH BRAINNN BUSSSTTTAAAAA...

Great idea for a thread.

I'm sure people know about the awesomeness that was the Generico & Steen vs Briscoes feud in ROH back in 2007. If you don't, go read, watch & listen to anything regarding it. Most people have probably seen, or at least heard of, their Ladder War match that is brutal and gruesome as hell. Well, in my opinion they had an even better match than that. I am talking about, of course, this little gem:

This just may crack my top 5 ROH matches of all time. What a war. ****3/4
