Lou Thesz was one of the greatest champions of all time and is considered by many to be the best wrestler ever. Koloff was in some big angles and had a nice TV title run but doesn't have anywhere near the longevity or accolades that Thesz does. Thesz moves on easily here.

Koloff was good.
Thesz was great.

Koloff had his fair share of good matches, and some great wins; but when compared to Lou Thesz, Lou comes out on top every time.
Lou is arguably one of the best there has ever been. Koloff doesn't come close enough to be able to win this match.

Got to give this one to Lou Thesz.

Edit- Wonder who Galgarin's vote will be?

I thought Lou Thesz was drawn into WCW?

Anyway, do I seriously need to post here? Lou Thesz wins because he's the greatest of all time and he's facing an irrelevant footnote.

Nikita Koloff is ranked too high IMO. Plus he has a girl's name. Lou Thesz has the chest and eyebrows of a real man.

Seriously though, there's no question about Thesz' credentials. He deserves to move into the next round easily.

Thesz by submission, 7 minutes.

Yeah, alright. The guy who was world champion for 9 years in total during the Cold War is facing somebody from the USSR who was set up to lose against big names. Thesz, by a country mile.
