WCW Match 8: Degeneration X vs. The Von Erichs

All of these matches take place in a WCW Style ring with WCW Rules.

DX are the team of Shawn Michaels and Triple H from 2006.

The Von Erichs are Kevin and Kerry Von Erich from the mid 80's.

DX should only win this if it is in a WWE ring, the Von Erichs made a name for themselve's as great tag team specialists, whereas Shawn and Hunter are better in singles action. The Von Erich's are losing probably because they are not well known in this generation, but they deserve to go far in this tournament. I am voting for the Von Erich's.

I'm with Skullz here. HHH and Shawn are by far the bigger names, but in WCW, the VOn Erichs have a fighting chance. WHile on paper this is a squash, its far from one. The VOn Erichs were monsters and beyond over in their own company. Also, some people might think the Claw is the only way either will win. However, when Kerry won the world title, he won it with a backslide, so anything is possible. Kerry (who i share a bday with) and Kevin win a shocker.

D-X easily. The Von Erichs were good as singles, but dull as a team.

DX narrowly beats the Von Erichs 12-10.

My Thoughts: I think this is a case of two teams that were more over based on name then actualy in ring ability. The Von Erichs were the foible to the Freebirds, nothing more, nothing less. They were the promoters sons, so it's hard to tell how good they actually were.

DX 2006 was flat out terrible though. A more boring sequence of matches from two guys has yet to be topped. All of their matches together were extremely boring for a terrible rehash of a once decent group.
