Was there a reason Vince said Booker was the WCW World Champ on Monday

Monday night, when McMahon was in the ring with Coach, he called Booker T the WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Does anyone think that he messed up, or did he say it because he was hinting at making Smackdown WCW?

I think he just messed up, because Booker always used to say that he was the 5 time, 5 time, 5 time, 5 time, 5time WCW champion, and it kinda sticks with him. I doubt they'd make SMackDown! WCW

Because it would be like the old days, since the intellectual properties of WWE, WCW and ECW all belong to the same company now. It would be a questionable move, but taking into account all the WCW talent on SmackDown! and the show's iffy ratings (it has seen better days), anything is possible.

can i ask- why the fuck would they make SD! WCW??

Can I ask.. Why do you continuesly spam everywhere? You know how to post (kind of) and you still figure you'll spam.. This is part of the reason you got banned last time.. And since you know the rules, I'm giving you a warning for spamming.

and the show's iffy ratings (it has seen better days), anything is possible.

The show has been getting great ratings.. 2.8 just recently.. Which was there highest in the past year.. Tho I wouldnt mind seeing Smackdown! turn into wCw Smackdown, it still would just be WWE to me.. Kinda like ECW..

Vince probably messed up.. So did Dusty Rhodes calling Flair a 6 time World Champion, which we know is really 16.. Well actually 22, but we know him for 16.. But like I said I believe it was just a mistake.. But if it did mean something.. I would hate to see another "Invasion" angle.

I think the WWE is trying to not reconize his NWA reigns, which was ten.

With how boring SD has become due to poor storylines and even worse use of talent, it would take more than a simple namechange to save it. But to be honest how would changing it to WCW save it? If people think SD looks similar to wcw, maybe that is why its ratings seem to have a hard time recovering? WCW didn't have the best stuff in history, I still remember Kevin Nash as comish, talking about him being batman........Keep it WWE and just hire some better writers and fix the broken Middle Card, right now they are not pushing anybody there.

..is that what ever happens on live tv was meant to happen whether it was a screw up or not.If there is alot of buzz over his mistake,he may create a storyline around it(WCW resurrection)

If there is enough buzz, of course he will make an angle out of it, I mean, he does own everything WCW, not to mention, would Vinnie Mac actually admit he screwed up? It almost seems like when he challenged Taker to a Buried Alive Match, when he was still the American Bad Ass, and called him Dead Man, although everyone knew Taker was going back to the Deadman gimmick...but hey, you never know. This could have actually been in the works for quite a while...hence the WHC being placed on Smackdown during the draft last year.

Vince definitely messed up. It may have been due to Bischoff's comments beforehand, and WCW was on his mind.. or like someone else pointed out, Booker T always called himself a WCW champion and it could have been that as well. You could clearly tell by the look on Vince's face that he messed up. It's no different than when Randy Orton said that La Resistance was to fight Regal and Eugene for the World Heavyweight Championship.

They brought back ECW so its possible for WCW as well. Right now we have Booker the World champion(former WCW superstar) and Eric Bischoff is back on TV. Vince did call Booker the WCW champion but i think the reason to that is because he looks down at both the ECW championship and the World championship(formerly the WCW title). He knows that those are not his creations and he looks at the WWE title as the best b/c 1. Its on RAW his favored brand and 2. The lead superstar in the WWE today(Superman John Cena) has it.

Altogether i do not think WCW is coming back maybe in the years to come but not now.

i think the only way mcmahon can pull of wcw is if he lets bishoff run it and hires most of the wrestlers back i dont even no if that still will be as good because they hadda lot of classic wrestlers in wcw that dont wrestle today and i dont think it would be as good with new ppl IMO

i didnt hear it but from what it sounds like, maybe he is hinting a wcw rebirth. come on, there has to be a reason as to why bischoff is back, hes either bringing in a new nWo, rebirth of wcw or maybe even naming him the new raw general manager, who knows. i know booker has said that in the past and maybe it was a screw up, like most of you mentioned, but what if? ya know? what if he brings back WCW and names bischoff the general manager, or something, and like the post above, yes i think if they re-instated WCW, i think some of the past superstars would come back, if they did this, they would be true money makers. come on, running more and more ppvs, StarrCade, oh my god i would cream my pants if they did this and that ppv Starrcade came back, that was always my favorite, always. so i hope that this wcw mention does get buzz and he decides to do the WCW idea, they could make bank and the end of any rival wrestling promotion...like in the little giants, "One town, One team".

If they do decide to bring back WCW, which i doubt, than does any one think that they would change Raw to WWE. that would be kindaof wierd.

well i doubt it would happen anyway even though i think its a cool idea they could eventually try, if they did do it smackdown would probably keep its name and just be called wcw smackdown but if they did it they should change it to nitro, and no matter what however monday nights show will continue to be called monday night raw

He might just be back to promote his new book, Controversy Creates Cash (which WWE has an interest in). It might not be anything more than that.

Or maybe it will be. We are approaching a prime ratings season for the networks, and maybe WWE will try to give its brands a boost by presenting "WWE vs. WCW vs. ECW". Vinnie Mac knows that the Invasion angle a few years back was handled poorly, but that the fans are still interested in something like this.

If they do decide to go ahead with it, I definitely think that it would not last more than a year. WCW would eventuallly go back to being Friday Night SmackDown!, and ECW (which is just a pitiful excuse for a wrestling show, a shadow of its former self) will cease to exist.

i know, about the book, i just wish they would do something interesting, something catching the fans attention, lately the tag division sucks, the champs are kinda lame cept benoit and hardy, and london/kendrick, and i dunno...they need something new.

If They Did Make Smackdown WCW what will they call Raw WWE or Just RAW

THIS ISNT HAPPENING there would be no one for wcw IT IS NOT HAPPENING just forget about it ERIC BISHOFF IS BACK TO PROMOTE HIS BOOK AND THATS IT

HE Could Make Smackdown WCW since most of the old wrstlers are on it andthey could do it for Survior Series

r u even readin the posts. U posted twice with info that has already been asked/said.

any ways, i truley think Vince just messed up. I also think wwe will not try another invasion angle for a while since they are now in damage control from the ECW one they just had.

Because, if we could get technical, the World Heavyweight title was introduced to the WWE the night after Survivor Series 2001, then combined with the WWE title, then the Undisputed title busted in 2 after Lesnar refused to appear on Monday Night RAW anymore. After the "undisputed break up", the WWE claims it's own history of the World title, but you could say it techniclly WAS the WCW heavyweight title, as claimed on Confidenial awhile ago.

So it's like saying the 3 major titles from the "Attitude era" the WWE title, WCW and ECW title in a triple threat match for the first time in history.

i think vince screwed up. there wont be no wcw revival. i think if they were to do that they would have done it before the champion of champions deal. wwe vs wcw vs ecw. that would of been cool if they would of thought about it beforehand.

I think it was a screw up. I am a BIG WCW fan. I always have been. I wish that Vince could have found a better way to save the company instead of buying it out. In any event, the WWE would not want to ressurect the WCW, especially considering the fact that WCW almost put them out of business. Vince McMahon will say that himself. As far as the champions go, I agree with you about the WWE championship. There are much better and deserving superstars on RAW than John Cena, who deserve a WWE Title run.
