Great performer? Warrior ran to the ring, shook the ropes, danced like and ?Iroquois Chief with hemmorhoids, beat some jobber's ass is 10 seconds and then ran back to the locker room.

That needs to be a little more elaborated on :

warrior ran to the ring(back in those days it was quite a distance to the ring) ,hailing from parts unknown(which ,according to "mean" gene okerlund is up the road from Truth or Consequences),grabbed the ropes and went into a seizurelike violent spasm. That was the main attraction because after that he was winded and worn out and couldnt have a good match even if he had proper wrestling skills.I d be worn out to if i ran all that way.lol

anyways...

Warrior is an immature little bitch.Never respected anything about the wrestling industry he was only there for the money and the fame to soothe his oversized ego(i believe warrior's ego is bigger than Hogan's,which was previously thought impossible :P )
If anyone reading this hasn't seen 'the self destruction of the ultimate warrior' i HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend you watch it.Learn about how much of a fuckoff he really was,but what else would u expect from someone who threatened 'the ultimate lawsuit' against somethingawful.com?

I'm confused as to how The Ultimate One is at fault here. I don't entirely blame Sheik for going over and trying to shake his hand, it's a nice gesture, but if Warrior doesn't want to shake the Sheiks hand then so be it, be a human being and walk away knowing that you tried to patch things up.

What really gets me is people saying the Warrior was acting like a 4 year old, the Sheik was the one throwing a fit, and that was real mature of him using language like that in front of young kids. Bottom line Warrior handled that perfect by not going back and forth with the Sheik.

I don't think it's really as simple as that though OWN...(you're not a Warrior fan by any chance are you?:lol2:)

True, Shiek did act childish and stupid. But it wasn't that Warrior just didn't want to shake his hand, he had to stand up and start yelling at Shiek about how he doesn't want to shake a hypocrites hand and how he shouldn't of been out there telling people about his drug issues to management.

Anyways, my point has been given, so I'm hightailing it on out of this thread unless someone says something so mind-numbingly stupid that I just have to come back in here. Let's try and keep this under control people, this thread isn't about whether the Warrior sucked as a wrestler or whether the Shiek sucked as a wrestler, its about this event that happened and about possibly I guess who you think would win in a fight (my money's on Shiek to pull an Indiana Jones 2 and rip the mans heart straight out of his chest :D)

I did not know that the Warrior was yelling at the Sheik. I've only watched the video a few times and quickly read up on what happened, I knew the Warrior wasn't extremely kind in speaking with the Sheik but I thought he did it at a respectable level. If he did indeed get out of line w/ the Sheik then I see them sharing some of the blame.

My take on a fight between the two, if it's now I really don't see Sheik standing much of a chance with his age and all those factors. If it's in their prime then it gets interesting, BUT if the fight takes place anywhere near a set of ropes that the Warrior can shake uncontrollably to regain his strength, then I'm taking my boy Warrior.

RSN89....

The Shiek is a real man of wrestling. The guy loves the sport. He eats and breaths wrestling to this day. Warrior on the other hand was in it for the money. Like someone else said he was a pretty big guy with a good look and he thought he could get in the business and do something. He did do something. But he has no passion for the business what so ever. Wrestling is one the most unique professions from the guys making millons to the guys making $5 to wrestle a indy show. Most people in this business love it for what it is, love it for the fans, the realtionships you build in the back, the history and all that. The Warrior was simpy in it for the money, he has no respect for the craft, the boys or the fans. I can almost gurantee when that man looks at a fan he sees a walking dollar sign! All the stuff I suggested in my last post was to show that this guy is his own biggest fan and that he is a peice of crap.... Should Shiek have snapped when he didn't get a handshake? No, but I would be angry. In closing if you don't get my point Shiek was in the business for all the right reasons, and the Warrior all the wrong reasons.

Being in the buisness for the money does not mean anything to me. Its a business, its created to make money and thus you would assume that the workers would want money. If you made burgers at McDonalds, would you want money for that? If baseball players go to Free Agency and then sign with another team for money does that mean they dont love the sport? Your not understanding that this is a business, it comes down to cash flow sometimes. The point of that is noone held a gun to Vince's head and told him to hire the Warrior, or rehire him twice after he left, he did that to make money. So I cannot see your point when he was rehired by the same guy twice, its all a buisness. Everyone tried to abuse the buisness in some way or form, look at Hogan for example. Hogan basically flat out refused to drop the belt to the Hitman becuase it wouldnt go well for Hogan, so he used his pull on the political to save his image. Is that as bad as threatening to no-show for more money, it might be considering now it puts the career of another worker in jeopardy. Everyone now wants to tear Warrior apart and shout foul and call him an asshole for what he did, but business is business. All Vince had to do was fire him and then all the problems went away, but he didnt and then he kept bringing him back so obviously greed works both ways. In a idealistic world everyone is in it for the love of the fan and has pure intentions, but here in the real world cash is king and WWF/E is a business just like anything else.

Sheik would kill the ultimate mess up. the ultimate mess up would go and run up to the iron sheik and run around the sheik shaking imaginary ropes and start throwing punches. the sheik will hit him with a hook which would knock down the ultimate mess up at which point the sheik would olympic wrestle the mess up and make a complete fool of the mess up. the sheik is better in every way. who remembers the Persian clubs. warrior wouldnt nor couldnt do it.

While you are correct to a degree that the wrestling business is just that, a business, there are many, many wrestlers who are in it for the love of the fan and has pure intentions. Look at the old ECW for example, half the time those guys checks were bouncing anyways from Paul E. but they still stuck with it. Look at guys like Mick Foley, Tommy Dreamer, and Stone Cold. They truly came into this business to one thing only: wrestle some damn good matches. Of course on the way if the chance comes you grab as much cash as you can, but these guys never politicked backstage, or refused to job.

I still say Shiek would pull an Indiana Jones 2 and rip out Warrior's heart and proceed to eat it.

Yea, there certianly are wrestlers who are in it for the love of it, like those you mentioned. I think the Million Dollar Man might disagree with you about the RingMaster though, haha jk. Id also probably bet that Warrior wouldnt run around and pretend to pull on imaginary ropes or whatnot, I mean honestly now. Also if Sheik somehow did manage to pull out his heart and then eat it, Id be willing to move to Iran and change my name to Shiek Jr.
