Vote CM Punk

Look, you know why Inoki was so over in Japan? It's because he ran a company, and booked himself to destroy everybody he stepped in the ring with. The majority of his matches were not good, nor competitive. The reason fans loved him, however, is because they bought into this myth that he really was the best fighter in the World. And do you know how he made them believe that? BECAUSE HE BOOKED HIMSELF. Pretty much the only people he didn't squash were well-known Americans, because he knew he wouldn't be able to book them if he did so.

Antonio Inoki was a great, great business man, but not a great professional wrestler.

It's the exact opposite for CM Punk. For ten years now he has busted his ass to make it up the ranks, to finally become one of the biggest superstars in WWE today. Who else was able to accomplish that after having a long, popular run on this decade's indy scene? Nobody, yet. Punk is truly the first. And what's even more amazing... he was able to do it after being booked to look like shit on countless occasions, but his skill in the ring and ability on the microphone has kept him able to keep a top spot within WWE.

In fact, think about this for a second... since CM Punk made his debut with WWE, do you remember one time where he has been injured to the point he had to take time off? Has he missed ONE show since 2006? No, not to anyone's knowledge, he hasn't. How many other wrestlers can say that on the WWE roster? Since mid-2006, how many wrestlers have been able to make every single booking WWE made for them? I think the answer is none, and it makes it that much more impressive considering Punk has played a predominate role on whatever show he worked, sometimes working multiple shows a week.

Antonio Inoki... legend? Yes, but only because he was a very smart business man, not because he was this great professional wrestler everyone seems to believe he was. He was not. Back then, anyone could have gone out there and squash motherfuckers weekly and be over as shit and have a long run. Pretty much anyone.

So, do the right thing, and ignore Inoki's "legacy" people are harping, because the fact is, they don't know shit about Inoki or Puro in general. They only know what they read on Wiki and watched on Youtube. This is a true case where people are voting for the Japanese wrestler to look smart. That, or they just simply hate CM Punk. Either way, if you look at the facts, then you should realize that Antonio Inoki does not deserve to go over someone like CM Punk in this tournament. No way, no how.

I've started voting for who has the biggest picture

I don't understand why so many people vote for someone they obviously next to nothing about.

I am a CM Punk fan but I also WILL NOT overlook Inoki's legacy.

Crashin, you don't know shit about Inoki's history. You're the same person who believes Puro today is anywhere near as big as it used to be. Sorry, but MMA fucked Puro, bottom line.

Also, a point I forgot to make... something that gives it away that Inoki voters are only voting off name value alone, is because if they knew anything about the history of Japanese professional wrestling, then they would have also voted for Jun Akiyama, who's three times the wrestler Inoki ever was and who is currently getting his ass handed to him against Owen Hart in what may be the biggest travesty in the first round.

Crashin...don't tell jmt what's what when it comes to puro and MMA. He knows his stuff.

And The Berzerker losing is obviously the biggest travesty. HUSS HUSS HUSS

I've been a Puro fan myself since playing Total Extreme Wrestling. I also know my puro shit. I will not ignore someone's history just because somebody wants an "up and coming" star like CM Punk to go over.

Edit: By the way I also agree that Jun should be the one going over but since Owen's a big name, he wont.

JMT and others have quite clearly outlined why Punk should go over, and they have nothing to do with Punk being an up-and-comer. They have everything to do with Punk simply being better!

If your talking about Puro being popular in the US today? Sure, that I believe.

No, it's not that popular in Japan anymore, either. All the Japanese promotions are struggling to keep their heads above water. Ticket sales are horrible, man. Look at the stats.

Pro Wrestling NOAH, for example, averages something like 1,000 attendance per show. Does that sound "popular" to you?

I know this. People in the TEW forum I'm on also agree with you.

Edit: just to make perfectly clear I'm not trying to make myself into an idiot because of voting for Inoki and if you think that, then you sirs are pathetic.

Lulz, Crashin trying to tell JMT how it is.

Good luck dude, tell us how that goes.

I dare anyone to watch this match all the way through. I guarantee you won't be able to do it, even though it's only 6 minutes long.

Crashin.

Please take my advice.

And shut up.

It'll be easier that way. You're wrong, and that's just how it is. You're coming across as completely dippy. You aren't, but you're so outmatched against JMT it's not fair. It's like putting Hornswoggle against Hulk Hogan.

Technically it was Xfear's, but FromtheBack shall let it slide for you, Docster. Especially since you're fighting the good fight, as it were.

So I'm supposed to shut up because I have a slightly different view? please. but out of respect for you, you win.

No, Crashin, it's because you're wrong and I'm trying to save what little reputation you have.
