Vince Russo FINALLY explains why he put the title on himself!

Mid-Card Championship Winner
Someone asked What the hell was the point of giving yourself the WCW Championship on his AMA and this is what he responded:

Because I'm a total mark and the first words I ever spoke when I came out of my mother's wound, was that one day, I was going to be the WCW Champion. And all through pre-school and kindergarden and grade school and high school, that dream never left me. My whole intention of getting in the wrestling business in the first place, was to become the WCW World Champion for three whole days. That's why I even started at the WWE. I knew I wasn't good enough to be the WWE Champion, but if I just could get some experience there, then MAYBE, just MAYBE, I could fulfill my destiny of being the WCW Champion. And it was only by the grace of GOD that my dreams were fulfilled and I was able to hold that WCW title high above my head and say, "I did it!" At that point in time, my life was complete.

I think this AMA made me jump on the Russo bandwagon. I can't help but love all his answers.

I don't see why he has to be a sarcastic ass. It is a legit question. It was asked in a rude fashion but it is a legit question.

Then again maybe there was some truth in what he says and we just have to cut through the sarcasm to get a real answer. Nah, he was just trying to get heel heat. I think, I don't really remember that point of WCW too well

Russo was the brains behind the greatest era in professional wrestling history, and he knows it, and he's proud of it. He's sarcastic, sure, but in a shoot, he's really a decent person.

He also admitted that he was sent over to WCW by Vince McMahon to kill the product, which is why some of the storylines and stuff occurred. Completely legitimate and serious answer.

He did that a few times, but only with the questions that people have asked him 10,000 times in the last decade. I can't imagine being asked about the WCW title, David Arquette and Pole Matches every day for my entire life. I'd probably be a sarcastic ass too.

I heard he won by a technicality or by some accidental happening that was a result of one of his ridiculous gimmick match inventions.

But he should have just said that instead of the corny sarcastic response.

If you do ridiculous things, people are going to ask you about them. So the moral of the story is, that if you want to be left alone- dont book idiotic storylines.
