Vince Did The Right Thing........ So Far.

To be honest - i was really disappointed on how Vince paid respect to Randy tonight. No video montage to pay respect like he has done with others in the past? Yeah, i know, he has heat with Randy on a personal level - not a business level. But what has Vince always preached - whats good for the business. His fans deserved alot more than just In Memory pic. Im sorry - but big let down.

As for the HOF - why hasnt Owen Hart been inducted? When Eddie died, he became a shoe in. Has Owen not been deserving? He took heat from Vince when Brett left - he paid his dues now give him the honor.

If tonight's lack of respect (IMHO) to Randy indicates anything - Randy is not going to be a HOFer next year.

I see you corrected yourself, cause there was a very beautiful video montage done to Savage last night. I've watched it at least a dozen times now and I get choked up each time. That was a big part of my childhood that's gone right there. Savage was one of my favorites growing up in the era of Hulkamania (I was never big on Hogan, even as a kid). Hell I still have some of my Savage toys in storage like my Macho King Wrestling Buddy (the big plush dolls!), Macho Man and Macho King Wrestling figures, cards, shirts, etc.

If what George Steele said is true and there is no reason not to believe the man. I can understand why Vince was/is so bitter towards Savage. The way Steele makes it sound is Savage just turned his back on Vince and with the way Bischoff ran things, it wouldn't surprise me if he had something to do with Savage not telling Vince. Look what he did with both Madusa and Luger, neither of which were particularly close to Vince, but everyone knew, even the common fan that Vince held Savage on a pedestal.

Also, if anyone were to induct Savage into the HoF, I would like to see one of two people do it. Either his younger brother Lanny Poffo ("Leaping" Lanny Poffo aka The Genius as a manager) or Ricky Steamboat, since they did have one of the greatest matches ever in wrestling history. Only other person that I could truly accept would be Hogan, but they had a massive falling out after WCW went under and as Hogan said, they had just recently started talking again (this is also unlikely as long as he is with TN....sorry Impact! Wrestling)

Owen Hart is a different story. It's not Vince or Bret or any members of the Hart or McMahon family that is preventing Owen from being inducted. It's Owen's widow who is preventing it. She doesn't want Owen involved with the WWE in anyway as she blame's them for his death. Brett and other members of the Hart family have come out and said that it is extremely selfish of her, because Owen deserves it and Vince and the rest of the McMahons want to put him in the HoF.

When a man dies, we remember the good things about them! We dont bring up the problems they may have faced or caused, we remember them for what we knew and loved about them! The former writer came across as a right knob head for suggesting that hypocrisy came over greater than actual sincerity, and for that hes a wasteman!

RIP SAVAGE! and yes, HOF either 2012 or 2013 :D

Not sure I agree that Randy overshadowed Hulk... had Steamboat not asked for what is now legally available to all (Paternity Leave) he was lined up for the title push that Savage got... but fate works in mysterious ways and Randy was able to capitalize in a way I doubt Ricky would have... The only shame was they jobbed him out to Hogan so soon and that it took 3 years for him to wear the belt again when guys like Slaughter were pretending to be champions...

Just to make a small correction it was Ted Dibiase in line for the World title. Savage was in line to be IC Champion again but McMahon scrapped both plans and made Savage the World Champion after promising him an IC run because Vince found out Honky Tonk Man was negotiating with Jim Crockett.

Anyways yeah, McMahon did the "right thing" alright. I bet he keep$ doing the "right thing" with new $avage action figure$, DVD'$, old $chool t-$hirt$ and anything el$e he can pla$ter Macho Man'$ face on.

I liked the tribute tho, it was nice. I mean sure, he was one of THE top 3 biggest Superstars in WWF history and yeah, he helped put the WWF on the map worldwide and deserved a proper tribute, but he didn't murder his wife and kids and that seems to be how you get a REAL tribute in the WWE.

The problem here is that Randy deserves a special induction... Why exactly they all have to be at Mania is beyond me...Savage was in a class of his own so inducting him on RAW in the coming weeks would be fitting... make it an extra special event with matches dedicated to Savage and come on... we know it has to be Steamboat who inducts...

I see them shelving Rock personally... or I can even see Rock insisting Randy heads the class as Randy was a Floridian legend too...

Some will hate the idea but in many ways I think the best tribute Vince can pay is to hire Jay Lethal to keep the gimmick alive and bring it to the new generation of kids... It's known Randy loved the work lethal did, after all he allowed it to continue for 2 years... and I think he'd get a kick out of knowing it will help kids looking for rolemodels...

And I hope they bring The Genius out one more time with a poem for his brother... though I would probably cry...

Absolutely not, you dont have a dead man lead the class.

No disrespect to savage, but it simply wouldnt make sense to have a dead lead inductee, you can obviously see why. The leader of the class is the draw for the event, Savage will draw in death, but not being there is the difference, Bret needed to go in (not that Eddie's on his level) but if it were Flair who had died Flair shouldnt go in over Bret if Bret's alive so yes Rock leads and Savage is in as well on TV like Bret & Eddie a while back

The other thing: The ONE case where a dead wrestler could likely get away with leading the class (although the others would have to be big names that shouldnt lead) is The Undertaker, because of his gimmick and the special effects etc they could do and promos

that is the only one that would be epic for character reasons, but other than Taker, no

He pretty much has to induct Savage now (or at least should) but he should have done it a long time ago so now it's like he is going in out of respect because he died.

Ironically, it will be easier to get Macho Man into the HOF now that he's gone and Vince doesn't have to deal with him personally. If it's true that Vince turned around one day and found that Savage has deserted him, I can't really blame him for his bitterness......and IMO, Savage never fit in WCW; after all those years, he looked as if he belonged in WWE.

Still, Macho Man created many unforgettable memories for Vince's company. The tribute was right and proper.....and they should get him into the HOF as soon as they can. The guy is dead, so there's no reason to be stubborn or bitter any longer.

It's funny; we shouldn't hold grudges against people because something like Savage's death shows us that you never know where they (or you) will be tomorrow. You always think there will be time to reconcile, but it's not always true, is it?

I think that Savage should be inducted into the Hall of Fame along with Elizabeth. They were the first power couple in the WWF and most of Savage's great feuds were based around Elizabeth.

As for inducting him into the HOF, there is no need to do so right away. While I agree that it should have happened years ago, inducting him just after he has died will make it look cheap. It will look as if Vnce was forced to induct him into the HOF. Plus the plans have already been made for, I believe, Rock to headline this year's class. Savage's inclusion will make it tricky decision for Vince as to who should headline the class of inductees: Savage or Rock?

Savage is a better performer than Rock, in my opinion, but Rock is good enough to headline a class. This year is the best year to induct him with WrestleMania taking place at his hometown in Miami. Savage can always go in next year and also headline the class without a hitch.

I loved the tribute that they showed. I thin if Vince didnt put aside the bad blood and did not show a tribute he would loose alot of money because a lot of fans would loose respect for the WWE for not showing a tribute to one of the greatest wrestlers ever to wrestle. I sure hope theres more to come for the Macho Man especially a tribute DVD of his greatest matches.
