I like it.

What do you like to put Vegemite with?

I didn't really like vegimite until I turned 14. I usually have it on toast or bread with no butter.

This is probably a stupid question, but what does Vegemite consist of?
Is it made of veggies, or what?
I only ask because TM wants to buy some. I'm afraid.

In Britain, liking vegemite is a stereotype of Australians. This thread has done nothing to quell those prejudices, as the Aussies love it, and noody else has heard of it.

Vegemite is made from leftover brewers' yeast extract, a by-product of beer manufacturing, and various vegetable and spice additives. The taste may be described as salty, slightly bitter, and malty - somewhat similar to the taste of beef bouillon. The texture is smooth and sticky, much like peanut butter. It is not as intensely flavoured as British Marmite and it is less sweet than the New Zealand version of Marmite.

Wikipedia FTW

Marmite is fucking rancid. That's what it should say on Wikipedia "it is less fucking rancid than British Marmite".

Beefy, extra salty peanut butter?
It sounds like one of those things you try once for novelty's sake and then go back to your jar of Nutella or jam.
As far as I know, marmite never caught on in North American. I've never seen it around at least, nor have I heard of anyone eating it.
