Unscripted 2014 Discussion: Pre Show - Elite X Battle Royale

Getting Noticed By Management
Anyone not booked in a match can RP in this one. The winner gets an Elite X title match, and those who finish highly will also receive title shots.

Let me be very helpful for this match and name every person who is listed on the WZCW Roster page yet isn't competing in any match for Unscripted:

  • Barrett Stratton
  • Constantine
  • Darren Bull
  • Eve Taylor
  • Illapa
  • Isabel Stone
  • S.H.I.T
  • Theron Daggershield

We've got some very good competition amongst these names as well as Darren Bull fighting in this match although, a few of the choices I feel don't belong in such a match.

Constantine & SHIT are excellent RPers but they've been involved with the Elite X title for a while now and whilst it would be great for them to get a title shot, I feel both guys could do something else and jump up a tier instantly. However, since Constantine just returned and SHIT lost the blow-off match in a long-term feud, and the fact that Constantine's final feud before he returned was with SHIT, I'm giving the pass here. A win is good and I have no doubt they can pull it off but they definitely don't need it.

Theron Daggershield puts me on the fence because he just came off a title shot and should he win with Fallout still champion, how does he face the champ? We've already seen the Tastic/Baez angle of getting around the rule and it's too early to do that once more.

Eve Taylor has been doing well since her debut but I haven't seen her doing anything notable as of yet so I can't really gauge her performance. However, if this was the match to make an impact, this would be it. Illapa is in a similar boat to that last point - hasn't been around that long and hasn't done anything notable so it's hard to tell. Probably the dark horses of the race.

Isabel Stone is an argument that I maintain forever - if she's here and RP's properly, she'll beat anybody. Otherwise, forget about it. Too much of a wild card to place my money on unfortunately.

Barrett Stratton has yet to find a comfortable groove. I see the potential that he brings to the table but he's missing the mark more than he's hitting it. I don't think he'll win but a solid showing he is definitely capable.

Darren Bull... the best thing to happen to him was being a member of Ricky Runn's Swag Pack and he'll never amount to anything else. At least Doug Crashin was the leader of his stable.

Prediction: Theron Daggershield

Darren Bull has this wrapped up. He's got a new gimmick as the man who accepts his position as a worthless jobber. Give him half a chance, he'll turn the entire fed upside down.

But for realsies, Theron should win this, with Ilapa and Eve as potential dark horses.

Darren Bull is Darren Bull. I think he gets too much flak at times, but there seems to be little flare or effort in his work, and it's S.S.D.D. He really needs an intelligent change of pace to stop being viewed as the joke of the fed.

Barrett Stratton has thankfully recovered from his hiccup and is putting out some satisfactory RP's. I don't think they're enough to net him an opportunity in this match with the talent involved, but a solid showing should keep future opponents on their guard for him.

Isabel Stone admittedly has declined a lot since her face turn. Whilst Jessie Lynn has been busy as of late, there just doesn't seem to be that same flare or passion that she had before, and she's just another member of the roster that doesn't stand out. Again, not someone I've got money on.

I like Ilapa, and I think that if Thriller RP's, he should be able to get a future opportunity at the belt. I do want to see more of the Eve Taylor feud so I can grasp a better understanding of the character (she can have a personality despite being mute) in the future though.

Speaking of Eve Taylor, she's been putting out some good RP's herself, but she has yet to fight someone out of her comfort zone yet, which could be the case here with S.H.I.T, Constantine and Theron omnipresent. I'm slating her as my official dark horse pick.

Theron and S.H.I.T are equal to me personally. Both are coming off big feud losses, but both can easily bounce back as they are both excellent RP'ers. This also gives them more fuel for stories and RP ideas rather than being locked down into feuds, which can make all the difference. To back either guy is a great decision.

But my favourite for this match is Constantine. I'm a massive fan of Constantine, and his RP last round against Titus was not only excellent, but also rather unique. Yeah, he's been in the Elite X title picture in the past, but iirc, Bobby Adams competed in the Redemption battle royale, so Dave is still interested in chasing the belt. Dave has had time to refuel and rethink Constantine, and a victory over Titus is a big wave of momentum coming into this match, something Theron and S.H.I.T don't have at the moment.

Constantine takes this personally, with Theron and S.H.I.T taking the other slots. Ilapa and Eve Taylor work as substitutes.

Some big names in this match mixed in with some smaller ones. I admire Ubermench for at least learning from his mistakes the first time and trying to improve Stratton. I feel the character is a bit one dimensional, but he could use this round to enact some much needed development. I can't speak on Eve Taylor as I haven't even seen her app, and don't know who her handler is. Constantine, SHIT, and Dagger are my big three. Dave and Miko have done the Elite X song and dance before, so it's just a matter of whether they want the opportunity or not, where as I know Dagger probably does. The winner between those three will be the man that really wants the title shot the most.

Izzy and Illapa are the dark horses. It depends what form Jesse decides to show up in and where Thriller is with the development of the character. Another potential dark horse - if he gets the green light to compete - is Winters. As a former Elite X champ himself, and a formidable writer, he could possibly have the most upset potential. The question is can his skills compete with the level of the quality found in the fed today? 2010 WZCW isn't anywhere near 2014 WZCW.

Coming off of a big win against Titus, whether he RP'd or not, is a massive deal for anyone - not least an arrogant and self-righteous Jerk like John Constantine. If this were WWE then he would - rather selfishly - be one of the favourites.

That said, the Elite X Championship really doesn't fall into the long term plan for Constantine at the minute. Gold as a much more altogether concept isn't really that important honestly. He's on a mission of sorts and I think gold holds him back more than anything.

That said it makes sense for Constantine to compete in order to get to Fallout - a competitor he named as a "problem" in new WZCW. Decisions, decisions.

Honestly though, Theron is my pick for this match but it could go either way. That's the beauty of matches like these - they set the wheels in motion for a tonne of angles to commence and gives people a great opportunity. Theron is on a roll lately and I'm sure Dagger will turn in a stellar RP. As for Constantine, I'm not sure that this is a battle he wants to be a part of.
