Speaking of Batman, I loved silly George Clooney as Batman.

This is a bit of strange one and I'm going on a bit of a Dark Knight rant.

The Dark Knight trilogy were not good comic book or good Batman films.

They were very good thriller/spy/mob films.

That's where I think they fall down, because I've seen very good/great thriller/spy/mob films and The Dark Knight trilogy can't touch them. Nor are they great comic book or Batman films. TDKR isn't even a good film. Though it's endearing in a way.

TDKR was an awful movie on all grounds.

Avengers was grand, ticked enough of the right boxes. I doon't think anyone left that disappointed.

I enjoyed watchmen, but that was a completely different tone, and ripped entirely from the graphic novel.

If it hadn't been copied from the graphic novel, people would be tearing it apart for changing the source material. I actually enjoyed it and thought the one thing they did change made a hell of a lot more sense than a random, giant squid thing turning up.

Abso-fuckin-lutely. I was reading the novel when the movie was coming out, sw the film before finishing and then laughed my ass off when I reached it.

I didn't like him in Alice in Wonderland, but loved him in Secret Window, OUATIMexico and the first three Jack Sparrow movies (haven't watched #4).

Johnny Depp seems to be better in the less commercial films he's been in. Pirates Of The Caribbean seems to be the only ones he makes any sort of effort. The recent films he's been in he just seems to be going through the motions.

People didn't like The Lone Ranger for some reason. I thought it was overlong but very enjoyable. Depp is the worst thing about it though. I'm sick of seeing him try to be weird characters when he's a very talented straight actor.
