I've read that about Taker before also. What a weird thing to have a phobia about, but whatever lol. My friends and I got to meet nearly every wrestler there was back in the mid 90's. My friend wad helping Davey Boy Smith inside with his luggage at a house show in Youngstown, Ohio and when they walked around the corner, Owen was standing there ready to spray Davey with a fire extinguisher. He quickly put it down and said, "Oh I didn't know you had company."
That same night, Bret signed autographs and took pictures with us and asked if we wanted tickets for the next night in Canton. We said sure and gave him our names. He said the tickets would be waiting for us at the will call window. Well, of course there were no tickets when we went to retrieve them. Bret probably pulled that trick on a thousand people gullible teenagers just like us. We didn't care though because while everyone else was inside, we'd be the only ones in the parking lot to see the wrestlers who arrived late and left before the show was over, so they were more than happy to take a few minutes with us. I'm sure a lot has changed since those days and you can't get near them with all the security now.
