In Waylon Mercy's Hands
I didn't see a post and was curious what people thought. I liked the Umaga character and if done right he could be a great talent. I always thought he was a good heel who was believable and didn't see any obvious problems with him in the ring. I wouldn't mind seeing him paired up with Samoa Joe although Im sure many people here would object. He is 36 which isn't young but could get over quicker than other talent has.

i really think that we need to know WHY Umaga was released......as for that i always liked Umaga in the WWE... he was one of the most believable heels out there.... and he had a lot of good matchs..... not great but good.... and definetively better than some heels in the last 3 years..... he was a big man with an unbelievable ability and i think its a shame he was released..... as for TNA
i have never liked TNA.... i ve tried to watch it on more than one ocassion but they have too many gimmick matches and they cant keep a story straight for more than a week........
but Umaga would do a great addition to the roster... as for a feud or an association with Samoa Joe im not really looking foward to it.... i dont think this guys would click together and besides Samoa Joe in my opinion is hugely overrated right now.....
but Umaga could have some great matches with the current maint event in TNA

umaga has already been to tna years ago. they would not use the umaga gimmick in tna for eddie fatu. please i would hate joe & umaga together . joe is not even in the same leval as umaga . joe is not a even full blooded samoan in the first place.
i don't know if he would go to tna anyways after how tna treated his brother rikishi.

I found it kind of fishy last week when Umaga lost to CM Punk on smackdown in a regular match right before the PPV. Now I see why...
anyway- Umaga,as we know it, is gone. Eddie Fatu will go to TNA most likely and be a bad ass but will probably end up with a crappy program w/ Somoa Joe. I haven't watched TNA since Foley joined but I think I'd watch it again if Fatu joins it's ranks. Maybe him and Manu can join up in TNA and form a Tagteam.. Who knows.
I saw on Wikipedia were he said on his website he was going to retire and train wrestlers.

Exactly! Why was Umaga released? Just because he lost to Punk? Or because Punk couldn't hold the title with a somoan spike always looming backstage? Maybe WWE just ran out of ideas for the character, poor guy.

I agree with whoever said that we need to find out why Umaga was released. If it is just that the WWE ran out of storylines for him than TNA should sign him. I think he would be a perfect fit for Joe, Taz and their Nation of Violence gimmick (if they get rid of the stupid knife as a prop). Which brings us back to why he was released. Because he would be a perfect fit for this storyline, and if we all see this, the WWE would also think this and they are just going to serve up TV Ratings to their chief competitor. So either (1)Umaga did something to make the WWE think that TNA wouldn't be interested, (2) Umaga isn't interested in TNA because of how things played out with Rikishi or (3) WWE doesn't consider TNA a viable threat.

what i've noticed everytime there is a release in the wwe is that the forum lights up with
"enter future endeavored name here" to tna, of course it is a viable option but having the same discussion with every single wrestler released can feel mundane.... although i do agree it would be a nice piece to the nation of violence puzzle with him there but...oh crap now i'm no better whatev:headscratch:

I remember reading somewhere that he retired so he could train younger talent. I don't know if that's true but either way Umaga was a great talent and was my pick to be the next wrestler to win their first world championship. If it was that they couldn't think of any ideas for him that they just released him then that's just plain ******ed.
I hope he does go to TNA as he deserves a good world title run.

I read this somewhere

Last week, we reported that Umaga was suspended for a backstage altercation. However today, we must report that Eddie Fatu aka Umaga has been released from his WWE contract. We wish Mr. Fatu all the best in his future endeavors.

I dont know what it is about but maybe it does have something to do with his release.

Umaga in TNA would be ok. He wouldn't be title material at present, but I'm sure the guy could squeeze a feud or two out of Abyss and Rhino.

Fact is that TNA don't actually need Mr Fatu, but he's not going to do them any harm.
