The baddie of Avengers 2 has been cast. Ultron will officially be played by... James Spader.

Personally I love the decision. James Spader is great and has such a presence to him that I think he'll do a wonderful job of playing Ultron. I'm even more excited.

I think Thanos is going to be more the focus of Guardians of the Galaxy.

His role as mastermind of the whole thing in Avengers/GotG will likely be slowly built until some crossover.

I don't know pretty much anything about Ultron, but James Spader playing the villain in a Joss Whedon Avengers movie will be fucking AWESOME. I can't wait.

Interesting pick. Not the kind of role I imagined Spader taking, but I'm a huge fan of the guy. No doubt he'll nail it.

Should be pretty good regardless of the casting choice, which itself is pretty good.

Oh and Thanos is the end game villain for Avengers 3, he's pulling the strings in everything. He'll be mentioned I'm sure in GOTG but he's not the main villain there either.

A waste of money. A half way decent voice actor could do the role just as well and nobody is going to see it just to hear Spaders voice.
