Main card

  • Lightweight Championship bout: B.J. Penn (c) vs. Diego Sanchez
  • Heavyweight bout: Frank Mir vs. Cheick Kongo
  • Welterweight bout: Jon Fitch vs. Mike Pierce
  • Lightweight bout: Kenny Florian vs. Clay Guida

Preliminary Card

  • Middleweight bout: Alan Belcher vs. Wilson Gouveia
  • Lightweight bout: Matt Wiman vs. Shane Nelson
  • Welterweight bout: Johny Hendricks vs. Ricardo Funch
  • Middleweight bout: Rousimar Palhares vs. Lucio Linhares
  • Welterweight bout: DaMarques Johnson vs. Edgar Garcia
  • Welterweight bout: Kevin Burns vs. TJ Grant

This is basically the big year end card, because UFC 108, which was supposed to be even bigger than this, has a main event of Rashad Evans vs. Thiago Silva. Remember that we were supposed to get Rashad Evans vs. Rampage Jackson tonight, which would have been fucking terrific.

But tonight should be a lot of fun. Note that there won't be any free undercard fights on Spike tonight, because of the Video Game Awards. Hey, speaking of the undercard, DON'T SPOIL ANY UNDERCARD MATCHES. Usually, they'll show them when they have time to kill.

Tonight's main event should be awesome, though.

Feel free to make predictions before the card starts at 10 EST.

My predictions:

Penn, Rd. 3, Sub hold
Mir, Rd. 2, Sub hold
Fitch, Decision
Florian, Decision
Struve, Rd. 1, Sub hold

I think BJ Penn has been doing a great job as of late to change his image. And personally, I don't think he ever acted that bad in the first place. He's a bit cocky, and a bit of a sore loser, but if that's someone's worst quality, then that person isn't a bad person at all.

Anyway, tonight's going to be a great night. UFC 107, and then I can catch the HBO Boxing replay right after (two great fights tonight in Juan Diaz vs. Paul Malignaggi 2 and Vitali Klitschko vs. Kevin Johnson).

Here are my predictions:

Penn by Unanimous Decision
Mir by Sub in Round 1
Fitch by KO in Round 2
Clay Guida by Unanimous Decision (Marquis convinced me on this one)
Paul Buentello by KO in Round 3

I also have Diaz and Klitschko winning tonight as well. :)

Good night ahead. Spike are showing the Machida vs Shogun match right now and then the VGA's. Then it's 107. Great night tbh.

I wish Herb could stop this for Diego not intelligently utilizing offense.

Oh, stopped anyway because Diego was leaking like a faucet.

My god, BJ just destroyed Diego, he basically was in a whole other universe tonight.

Damn these LD's need more conversation. How bout that fucking gash on Diego or any thought on the Mir fight?!

I haven't seen the Mir fight or any of the other fights besides the BJ-Diego fight but that gash was pretty god damn nasty on Diego. BJ won that pretty decisively.

I love BJ Penn. I don't get why people hate him so much. Is it because he's so fucking good?

Yeah can't expect too many big LDs for MMA when you have the main fans like JMT and even Shocky nowhere near here. The night Brock fights (assuming he gets better which I hope he does obviously) will probably get a good LD I bet though, worked at UFC 100. That was a stacked card though, moreso than tonights.

I was watching it downstairs so I didn't have a computer to type on. Yea i'm a huge BJ mark as well as a huge Mir mark so this PPV was huge for me. Great show tonight.

Great show. I'm going to write a full review in the MMA Section after the Saints game.

I'm going to write one for HBO Boxing too, which was just dreadful. How can anyone watch UFC 107 and Fight After Dark on HBO back to back and then not realize MMA is superior to boxing in every conceivable way? Two boxers last night could not have fought a *****er fight, and man did it frustrate the fuck out of me, because not only did they fight like a couple of bitches, but they showboated while doing so. It was the most pathetic display I've ever witnessed in all of sports.
