Tyler Reks

Everyone isn't seeing the surfer thing....but not only is it the look, the music, the one promo.....but also if you pay attention, during every single one of his matches Matt Stryker has been saying that Tyler thinks his opponent is a "tool" and then goes on to say that it is a surfer term and how it came about.

So....yeah.

I've enjoyed his matches so far on Superstars and ECW. I'm not really a big fan of the 'Surfer' gimmick but then again Kofi's gimmick was treated the same by some and now look at him.

Perhaps Tyler'll evolve from his surfer gimmick like Sandman did? You never know.

I don't really like Tylers ring work much......i mean there's nothing really BAD about it.....but nothing i like either. He bores me so far.....infact all of the new recruits do. Shameaus shows some potential but needs more work still and the rest are just bland and don't hook me in.

I'm actually tired of this way that WWE is brining people in.....it makes it harder for them to make an actual impact. If things had been this way all these years there would be no Brock Lesnar, no Hardy Boys, No Edge, No Christian, No Batista, No Randy Orton, No John Cena.

Remember when people used to debut on major shows and actually make an impact.....become stars n such. Sure not all of them were instant hits and some of them the WWE invested time in and then it didn't work out. But they were thrown in head first in the deep end and were given a chance to shine.

Now days People have to work up through ECW and are viewed as being "lower down" on the totem pole when they finally get to a main show, instead of just making a big splash where it counts.

But at the same time I enjoy watching ECW....so.....who knows lol.

I'm sure I remember people saying a rip off Eminem white rapper gimmick would never get over. Cena pulled it off wonderfully. How about a guy who was raised from the dead? Terrible idea. Now more over than anyone.

None of us know what gimmicks are gonna go over. And he has given no impression that this is a gimmick. He's not talking "like, woah dude! Totally radical man!" or anything, he just has a style. A surfer style and there is nothing wrong with that because, get this, normal people do surf! Surfers actually exist in the real world.

It's not any different to someone coming out and wearing a football jersey. Doesn't mean they have a footballer gimmick. Cena wears sports tops all the time. He's a rapper. He no longer raps. That is not his gimmick.

I like this guy and to cast judgement on him this early is pretty pathetic. He'll most likely get the ECW title feud and we'll see about judging him during that time. Not after two superstars matches and around 1 minute of mic time.

Well seeing this week's superstar match with Tyler Reks, I see he nearly doesn't get enough pop from the crowd. His work isn't necessary sloppy. So maybe send him back to FCW until we get something new for him. He seems like a balanced wrestler so no need to release him just yet. But he has given more chances than Branden Walker but he has yet to impress and the only time he got a decent pop was when he tagged with Yoshi Tatsu...

he definitely has the look he just doesnt have the attire, gimmick or music to do anything. hes just dull and is an oversized jobber and its unfortunate to see a guy that size getting destroyed out there...

He has the look and has the ability to be a top face on not just this brand, but the entire WWE. He has something to him that gets the fans to get behind him. His move set is pretty nice and I like the 2nd rope drop kick for his finisher. Looking forward to what his mic skills are, but for now he's paying his dues. I'm glad the guy is getting exposure on a weekly basis and even wrestles on superstars. He's doing a great job so far.

He's not too bad. He's passable, he's better then some of the talent in the WWE or FCW at least. I met him after the July21 ECW/SD/Superstar tapings. He's a real cool guy, real nice, took pictures and signed autographs with everyone. Seemed to be genuinely suprised at the amount of people coming up to him. I got his autograph and a picture with him. I missed his bit on the mic, but i've seen a backstage interview, he's not bad, but he's still green y'know? He does need to step up abit.

im not too fussed about the way he is turning out. but i agree with most peeps that he needs a new gimmick, new music and a new finisher. a springboard dropkick doesnt look like it would keep someone down for the three

In ring, I've liked him and I actually think he has big potential, but the gimmick is something of a dud. I don't really think people on ECW really need that much of a gimmick, to be honest, so just have him being a bit laid back in his promos, and that'll be enough. Running in to music that sounds like its from a 1970s sit com isn't ever going to make me think "this guy might win the world title", to be honest. Tone down the gimmick, and you have a wrestler with good potential.
