Two and a Half Men final season: Going out with a whimper?

Two and a Half Season premiered its twelfth season. This show was a huge success with Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer, Angus T. Jones (among others) and was a ratings powerhouse for CBS. The show followed a ladies man Charlie Harper (played by Charlie Sheen) opening his home to his younger brother Alan, after his divorce. Spending time with the two brothers occasionally is Alan's son Jake played by Angus T. Jones. Behind the scenes the show had issues with its trouble star Charlie Sheen. Drug addiction and erratic behaviour and a final blowout where Sheen made less than kind (and some may say racist) remarks led to his dismissal and in season 9 his character was killed off and Ashton Kutcher came in to the series. Season 11 saw the departure of Angus T. Jones The show continued and now is in the midst of its twelfth and final season.

While an ok show now, it clearly is less than it once was (it was showing signs of decline before Sheen's departure) but it did have a good run.

In this new season, Walden and Alan (Ashton Kutcher and Alan Harper) decide to pretend to be gay and get married so Walden can adopt a child. I heard about this storyline and just didn't find it that appealing. I just went ughh. What do you guys think ? Do you think this storyline will work out ? What do you think about the show and how it's been since its start to this season ?

They've made some alright episodes since Sheen got fired but the show has mostly been terrible. Each season since Kutcher's debut season, has reached new levels of ridiculousness. Seriously, Alan and Walden getting married so they can adopt a child? I also remember a gorilla turning out to be Walden's adopted brother when he was younger and a lame musical segment from the last few seasons. I'm sure I can come up with many more ridiculous moments from the last seasons but I'm too tired to think of them right now. None of this shit ever happened during Charlie's period on the show.

Ashton has ruined the show for me, he isn't funny and he doesn't have the same chemistry with Alan that Charlie had. They started him out as a childish character, which was so annoying, he's gotten serious now but all he ever does is just insult and make fun of Alan for mooching off of him. In fact, the whole show has just turned into more sex and more Alan bashing since Charlie's departure. I can't help but think of Alan as a complete joke now whereas before Kutcher came around, I cared for him and had some respect for him because there was less Alan bashing than there is now. His friends and family bury him like every second, every episode now.

I was a huge fan of Two And A Half Men when Charlie was there but I'm glad the show is finally coming to an end. The only reason why I continue to watch is just cause because of Jon Cryer, he's carrying that show, but you can't do Two And A Half Men without Charlie Sheen, the show is based on his real life bad-boy image afterall, it's nothing without him and just plain sucks with Kutcher.

I hope they allow Charlie to come back for the season finale, maybe in a dream sequence for Alan, but I don't think it's very likely especially with what's been happening with Sheen lately. The dude is still off his rocker. Would also love to see Angus T Jones return for the finale but he's a definite no with him having found religion and wanting nothing to do with the show anymore because it conflicts with his religious views. Can see Judith, Herb, Rose, Bridgitte and all them appearing though. God, I hope Zoe, Walden's ex, doesn't though, she was awful and I absolutely hated her.

How can a show that is just about finding excuses to put hot women in almost nothing on screen turn into more sex after Charlie's departure?

Never a fan of the show although the eye candy in comedic situations over the years will make me stay when I am channel surfing. Chuck Lorre knows what works.

More lesbians, threesomes, lesbian threesomes and all types of shit than ever before.

Yes, thought after dreadfull Amber Tamblyn character and her sleeping with almost anyone who appered on screen couldnt get worst but here we had Michael Bolton sleeping with mothers of Alan and Walden. :disappointed:

Awfull show after Charlie left, just awfull...

I used to love this show. It was hilarious. I have not seen a single episode since Sheen left. Not necessarily due to a dislike of Kutcher, I just fell behind and never really felt the desire to get caught up. I might try to watch some of the new ones at some point if I'm bored enough and have the time for it.... but it sounds like everything has gone downhill. With Sheen and Jones both being gone it may be for the best that this be the final season. They were the best part of the show in the seasons I watched thus my interest in this upcoming season, if I ever get caught up to that point which is doubtful, would be pretty low.

Another question, who was the hottest woman who was on the show as a regular or guest ? I liked Kandi and Chelsea greatly.

Charlie was a headache and they had to get rid of him. They had put up with hisdisruptive behaviour long enough, and they could do no more with him. I can understand the producers not wanting to pull the plug, more money for them, the cast and maybe to show they could survive without Sheen, but tbh, even in the last two seasons with Sheen, the magic was gone.

BTW, of all the women who appeared on the show, who do you think was the hottest woman who appeared on the show ? Jeri Ryan and the actresses who played Chelsea and Kandi would be my top 3.

I can honestly say I've never watched a full episode of the show. Just never interested me and I'm pretty sure the show's popularity is fading quickly. Last season, there were only 3 of the 22 episodes drew 10 million or more viewers in the United States. Prior to last year, the show consistently drew anywhere from about 12.5 to 18 million viewers on average.

Like American Idol, Survivor & The Amazing Race, Two and a Half Men is no longer the ratings powerhouse once as. Critics still like the show as it's still been nominated for and won a ton of awards, but there are other shows out there that've gotten more attention and generated more buzz over the past couple of years.

I used to really enjoy Two and Half Men. Then I grew up a bit. So did one of the characters, Jake who became less funny as time progressed and, of course, Charlie left. Now, it's just pointless. I get it's a comedy show but there can still be some sort of story around it rather than just a lot of poor jokes and hot women. We established Waldon is good looking and rich. Then what? It's like Big Bang Theory. The show goes on for too long; writers get lazy as they know it will be successful no matter what and the quality goes down. Indeed, like Big Bang Theory the only redeeming part of the show is the deuteragonist. Allan is more entertaining than Waldon. Sheldon is more entertaining than Lenord. That is fine but when the main character has no storyline it is pretty worrying.

They could do literally anything with Two and a Half Man. It will be mindless comedy centred around sex. Fantastic. I would like, however, something involving Charlie Sheen. That could at least make it a feel-good moment right at the end.
